Hi everyone,
Well, I had wanted to got to AGPNY to pick up some things but the weather here has been so bad and I just couldn't wait anymore, so I made an order, here are my reviews and also, I updated my website with new photos (Introduction page, and the New AG Photos Marisol 2005 page):
Marisol- she is so cute, her coloring is very close to my Josefina's coloring, they actually look very much alike. Don't like the silk pants as they look funny when she stands (you have to adjust them or they look like park ranger pants). The coral-pink color of her tank and hair bands are very nice. The hat is basically like the one in the retired school accessories set. All around she is very nice, they could have done a bit more to make her look a bit more different than Josefina,(a shade lighter on the eyes, skin color).
Marisol's Duffel and Kitty- I like the bag very much, I have one for myself in that style in black! I like the water bottle(she can actually hold it herself!), the phone is okay, cute but doesn't stay open on it's own, heavy though. The ID card is cute, the energy bar is a bit cheap, and the Kitty is, well what can you say, it's a little stuffed animal basically.
Marisol's Ballet Outfit- I liked this more in the catalog and was a bit disappointed when I got it. It is the hardest outfit to put on! I don't know if anyone else felt this way but, everything in it can snag so easily! The I had a hard time putting on the leotard (it didn't seem to have much stretch to it) and then the warm-ups over the tights took forever! The silk skirt was the nicest part of it, but mine was so wrinkled! It's one of those outfits where I look at it and don't even want to attempt putting it on again, such a chore!
Marisol's Tap Outfit- BACKORDERED! I'll post a review and photo when it comes.
Licorice's Best Friend Outfit: This outfit looks so good on Marisol, on any doll for that matter. You can't go wrong with PINK! I love pink, so I just had to have this! It is so pretty, the little purse is so cute too! It's a pretty good quality outfit, the shoes are heavy with cork-sided platform soles. The outfit lays down nicely (unlike Marisol's silk pants as mentioned above).
Nellie's Spring Dress: Very nice color and good quality, my favorite is the little necklace it comes with, it really makes the outfit look so complete. The shoes included also have the little heel like Samantha's lawn party shoes, I didn't even know that so it was a nice surprise.
Samantha's Spring Dress: This dress is my favorite out of the two. It just looks so prim and proper, and reminds me of that era's styling more. Her lawn party shoes and socks do look nice with it, I didn't think it would at first because I thought this dress was bright white. It is more of an off white, not so bright as you may think from the catalog, it's also thicker than I thought as well. Looks so nice on Sam!
Samantha's Bridesmaid Accessories- The cake looks a bit cheap to me, although the little topper is cute with the bride having a real mesh veil. The little charms are adorable, my favorite is the tiny diamond ring one. I bought this set for the Mirror and Brush set though because I had missed out on it when it used to be included in Sam's travel accessories. The mirror and brush is so lovely, looks like the real thing with the white bristles.
Josefina'a Weaving Outfit- I wasn't sure of this outfit when it first came out but then looking through the catalog, I decided that it was pretty nice after all. And it is! Looks so nice on Josefina! It's a pretty good quality outfit, the skirt is heavier than it looks and the camisa is so nice especially the sleeves with the piping.
That's it for now, sorry this post is so long! Hope to get the Tap outfit soon!

Diana really wants Licorice's best friend outfit, so I'm glad you like it. I think I'll at least get her the matching purse too, although I know she would just love the entire set for herself. She just loves to match her dolls!
It sounds like you had Christmas all over again at your house today!

Thank you so much for the reviews.
You know, everybody keeps talking about how nice the Licorice outfit for dolls is that I might just change my mind about not getting it. I didn't like it at first because of tie-dyed look and "ripped" look at the bottom of the dress. The white jacket does look adorable and I like the pink in the dress. I also like the sandals. You guys are a very bad influence on me

Thanks for the review and the pics! I want to get Josefina's weaving outfit and I too love Sam's spring dress! I'd like to get it, but we have no Sam!

I love your website. One question though: When's the wedding, and are you going to post wedding photos? How long have you been engaged?
-
I guess that was more than one question.

Thanks for the great pictures. I am getting nervous about Sam's spring dress. I'd love to get it, and I just wonder how long it will be available!
Marisol does look beautiful in the Licorice Best Friend's Outfit. So many gorgeous outfits!!!

Laurie and Lynet,
I think you guys will be pretty impressed with the Licorice outfit, I'm not a fan of tie-dye myself, but the dress is meshy and only uses two colors of pink so it's not so tie-dye like, the jacket is pretty thick material and the shoes are so cute (beaded straps). The doll can hold the purse easily, I slip the strap between their fingers and they hold it quite well, the way a short-strapped purse should be held.

That must have been so fun to have such a big order arrive!
I also like the LBF outfit (I have three pics of it in my new Winter album - including a detail of the jacket and sandals).

Thanks so much for showing us your new album. You take such nice pictures. My oldest dd loves your doll pictures so much, she has several of them printed out and hanging on her wall in "Samantha and Nellie's bedroom." She colors little frames around them after I print them and then she cuts them out and hangs them up.
It was nice to read your reviews, too. I just ordered Josefina's weaving outfit a few days ago. I'm glad to see it looks so pretty in your picture and that you like it. I put off getting it because I was so mad at myself for missing her harvest outfit and I didn't think the new one was as nice, but I finally realized that the weaving outfit is sort of similar to the harvest outfit, in that it has that pretty embroidery at the neckline. I can't wait to get it!
Thanks again for sharing!

You guys are so nice!
Susan-that's so sweet that your DD likes the pics, they actually get distorted a bit because I have to make them smaller to put on the website (otherwise they take forever to load), so I hope they print out OK.
Moni and Susan-I think you will be very pleased with the weaving outfit, the all over quality is better than the harvest outfit. The camisa looks so nice on her.
AGNan-I've been with my Fiance for over 10 years, I finally committed to being an engaged woman last year. He gets nervous about me posting any pics of myself on the net (I've had quite a few stalkers before, scary stuff), I did have one photo of myself on my website briefly, some of the older members may remember, but my fiance and my family wanted me to take it down. Too bad there are bad apples in the world that makes life difficult for others.

Thanks for the reviews - now you have me wanting the Licorice outfit . The skirt I got in Marisol's ballet outfit is very wrinkly too - I am seriously considering sending it back. It looks as if it was stored all crumpled up - I really wondered if it had been returned by someone, but since yours is that way too, I'm not so sure.

My ballet skirt was a little wrinkled, but nothing excessive. I thought it was just a feature of the material?

Chau, your review and photos are great! I love the colors your camera takes. For some reason, the outfits in your photos look more enticing than in the catalog because of the lovely colors. I'll bet part of that is because I'm crazy about that quilt you have in the background. Where did you get it? It's gorgeous and like you, I love all things pink too. Marisol and pink belong together. That's why I dressed my Marisol in a little wintery outfit with lots of pinks. Thanks for sharing those photos!
