Internet Explorer Error Help!!!

I need some help!
How do I fix this error on Internet Explorer?

HTTP 500 - Internal Server Error

I need a solution on how to get rid of it....Anyone?

ummmmmm ........... could you try to be more vague?

what are you doing? where are you try to get to?

you can go to Tools |Internet Options | Advanced then find and uncheck "Show friendly HTTP error messages." this will get rid of the 500 message and give you a more detailed error message. usually 500 errors are on the web server side and not the client side. unless you are running against your own personal inhouse web server there is nothing you will be able to do about it. it's up to the owner/admin of the site you are trying to access to fix the issue.

Marc, I couldn't personally tell you how to get rid of it. BUT --- On page 48 in the "MAN CODE" book, you'll most likely find your solution. LMFAO! [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Thanx for the help guys...just installed IE again...and it works...finally.

I was constantly hearing from loads of people that Internet Explorer is shit and unsafe to use, so i finally ditched it and the other day i downloaded the Firefox browser as mentioned above. Firefox is ace! No going back for me now [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Is Firefox that good? Always thought about ditching IE as it crashes sometimes for me. If you don't like Firefox Andii, can you switch back to IE easily or is that it gone once you move over?

You can switch back any time Grant... it's a LOT better to use than Internet Explorer because for a start it won't allow websites to install shit on your computer without you knowing it, it's a lot more safer and i notice it is faster than Internet Explorer. All in all, a much safer browser than IE. Plus... it has some bloody nice free browser skins you can download also [img]smile.gif[/img]

Oh btw... Internet Explorer doesn't go at all mate, you just don't need to use it once you have Firefox.

Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 100. This means it will make 100 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

Thanks buddy. I have 1meg broadband here and this shit seems a hell of a lot faster already to me than IE and i aint done shit with it yet lol. I suppose though, the more plug ins etc i use, the slower it'll eventually get.

Another thing I've found with Firefox (which
was missing in Mozilla), is that Firefox
actually over-rides my download-speed setting
set by our ISP, without any tinkering from me
whatsoever. Which is nice.

Here's another thing I found to speed up the opening and minimizing of FF. D, have you got the remove it plugin? brilliant!....You know when you go to some web site and you're trying to read something, and there is either some big advert that is blocking something. You can right click on anything on the page that is coded and click "remove this object" and presto it's nuked.

* Tweak 1

I installed and ran them both this evening...
My computer was littered with all kinds of
fucking junk - included one 'hijack attempt'
at some point in history, which was a bit
worrying. Microsoft's spotted things that
A-A didn't and vice versa.

It's using IE and having 'iSearch' appear
as a toolbar is something to really watch
out for. You can't uninstall it, and you
can't really kill it unless you go dabbling
with the registry.

Yeah i had that Microsoft Antispy a while back. Not bad.

Ad Aware i also have. I run that thing daily and all i have had were 3 objects so far that have been quarantined. They were the first things found when i installed, updated and ran it. Been okay since.... fingers crossed it stays that way lol!

the problem with Microsoft's Antispy is that it picks up valid apps that i run at home to remotely hit my other computers, such as VNC, and labels them as spyware. not that it's really a problem persay but it's quite annoying.
