I just can't do the tribute disc thing. They are so dang hit or miss. Who ia on this one though?
I only own one tribute disc, and it is for The Damned. Two good versions, the rest suck.
I own the Kiss one and that one is the only tribute i own. Thought about the Dog's and Johnny Thunders one. Didn't know there was a Dammned one. Oh there is a good Micronotz one but Carl maybe the only one on this board who may know who the Micronotz are.
I tried linking from the Fastlane records site, but the site is fucked up and the damn thing doesn't load properly. The only song list I could find that loaded was incorrect. I do know that Dogs D'Amour is on there, along with Coyote Shivers, Napoleon Blownaparts(with Murderdolls bassist), Johansen himself with Frankenstein3000, Steve Jones w/Flipp, and more.
Wow, that one actually looks VERY promising! I hate it when all the tribute CD's have 2 bands you know, and the rest are terrible unsigned bands.
Al, The Damned one I thought I gave you a copy of YEARS ago. It's that terrible Seattle thing called Not Another Damned Seattle Compilation, which is actually a clever title spoofing the Damned "Best Of's" and all the Seattle comps. that were flooding the market at the time.

Those are not samples, that is a download player to download each song for .99 a piece.

According to the official press releases, they are. They may not be, but Fastlane really needs to get their shit...site...together.

I have the tribute and the(Dogs) are not. The Alarm is on there doing 'Jet Boy'..as for the player they must have messed with it because it used to play samples of each song....dunno

[B]<font size=3 color=purple>For the record for every terrible unsigned band there is likely an equal amount of fantastic unsigned bands that are vastly superior to signed acts..I performed on a SuperSuckers tribute disc with my other band *Osterberg* and the song we did was a very tasty rendition if I may say...on the other hand it may be very amusing to listen to Oasis doing "Personality Crisis" <img src="http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/icons/icon17.gif"
Of course there are a lot of capable bands that have no recording deals as well as shitty bands that do.
