i love the cars. one of my all time favs.
Awesome band these were!
Yeah .. Great Band ... Kings Of The Early Mtv Video Craze . i Have a Soft Spot for Alot of The Music from that Time period .. Cars , Billy Idol , Scandal , etc .
The Cars were amazing. I don't know very much about them, but I just can't stop listening to You Might Think. This song's video clip is hilarious!
America's Least Hated band (nobody hates the Cars). I love 'em. Great stuff. Heard they're rather boring live, though. Hope they put out some new music, though.
I loved the Cars from the start. Saw them live wayyyyy back when, they were alot of fun. Always good to hear them.
Candy-o is one of my favs.
yes sir, I love the cars too! that would be cool if they were to reunite but it won't be the same without Benjamin Orr.
I thought David Robinson was the missing Car.
A certain member of The Cars is being a bit tight lipped about it on another board I hit all the time. But when somebody approached him with the "Hey...I hear you guys are in the studio recording again" he replied with a "Recording? No...well not yet anyways". Then on a site he is an endorser for it is mentioned of a possible coming tour. So it would appear that they will be doing a tour with a possible new album!
Other people have mentioned the fact that Benjamin is gone, but they seem like the type of band that would do something proper for his memory, and they don't seem like the type of band to just do it to "cash in". They probably realize just what Lycan said, for some reason NOBODY hates The Cars, and it might be fun to bring it back out again. Plus, this member that I am speaking of is one of the most down to earth people and one of the most accesible I have ever seen in the music community. I get the feeling the whole band is like that, even Ric.
Yes, I too love The Cars. Did Benjamain Orr die?
I think I remember something about it, but not sure. I like his solo hit "Stay the Night" too.
Is that whole album good? I have a copy of Ric's solo album, with "Emotion in Motion", and there's some decnt stuff on it, but Cars are way better. i think it was the collaboration of the two that was "Magic".
yeah, Benjamin Orr died back in 2000. i think he had cancer of some sort.
i know he was a HUGE part of the Cars sound and their success but i don't think it will be as hard to replace him as it would be if he was the front man/focal point to the band. and yes i know he sang on a lot of tunes but when you think of the Cars you think of Ric. i'd be there if they ever toured again.
I didn't know that he died. He was a major part of the band.
Wow, didn't know that Orr sang lead vocals on Just What I Needed and Drive. Thought Ocasek did all their leads.
Loved em' and Rick Ocasek produced two brilliant Weezer CD's, Blue and Green Albums respectively.
<font size="4" face="Arial">he also produced D Generation's No Lunch, their finest moment.Quote:
