I'm still a bit cynical about the ?50/$90 price tag
that's attached to most shows, but I'd like to
see them (reformed line-up) at least once before
they all fall over. If you get the chance, invade
the stage and grab Andy's sunglasses.
Enjoy the show, mate.

LMFAO....yeah Darren...I'll run on stage and pull his sunglasses off...After I do...Do ya want the sunglasses?...haha
I'm a fricking cash-stricken student - what do
you think?
I'm sure they'd do well on fleabay.
D.
LMAO!!!...okay consider the sunglasses yours then....haha.
they didn't even sell half the tickets for the DD show here. the show isn't until april 9th or something so there is still time but i thought they would have sold a little better.
it's Duran Duran damnit!
Bill....The reason they sold out here in Austin is because they are playing a small college campus auditorium type of place...the place only holds like 2500 people.

HAHAHA...yeah Carl...I was shocked that they would play such a small place...but hey...makes it great cuz no matter where ya are in the seating....it's still a good view.
i'd rather see bands in smaller venues. here they are playing a mid-sized arena, i'm guessing between 8,000 and 10,000 seats. i really thought they would have sold out by now but then i'm bias, love duran duran.
but, since it's half empty, at least i can fight my way to the front so when i go to throw my underwear on stage i know that they will reach =)
<font size="4" face="Arial">Except for that bunch of old goofs on stage obstructing your view of the back wall.Quote:

I wish I was goin somewhere cool like that...
my Saturday night will be spent at the monster truck thingy.
carl, you don't have to be onstage, you can just go to my website a purchase your own personal pair of Bill K. undergarments. and if you are willing to spend a little more i will even send you a pair of underoos.
LMFAO!!!...you guys are crazy!
Is Andy Taylor in the current lineup? I saw a live thing on them on VH1 and they hardly ever showed the guitar player- which made me think it was just some hired gun.
Chef.....on that VH1 show....Andy was at home recovering from exhaustion. For the show and on some of the tour...A guitarist filled in. That's the reason for VH1 not showing Andy Taylor.
<font size="4" face="Arial">No doubt he was tired from dodging Bills flying garments.Quote:

he doesn't know what he is missing!
'Exhaustion' was never really satisfactorily
explained. It sounded a bit dodgy to me, but what
do I know?
After paying ?15/$25 or whatever to see them on
Pop Trash and Medazzaland (aka, the lamely-named
'Latest and Greatest') tours, the exponential jump
to $50/$90 a ticket is quite crap really. If they
have signed a 5-album deal, then goodness knows
how much we'll be paying in say, six years time,
when the 5th new album comes along.
Invent a time machine, I say. Let's all go and
watch them circa' all those cool videos that
are downloadable from http://www.duranduran.no/
The live via-satellite Japanese shows, circa'
'Big Thing' look great - Le Bon, bless him,
going through his leather-long hair-and-Hutchence
phase. 'Big Thing' was terribly compiled, and every
song jarred with its neighbour, but it's still,
probably, their most under-rated album.

They're playing 8-10k seaters out there?
To be honest, I'd be surprised to see them fill Hammy O or Brixton Academy these days. Your 'mid-sized' is our Wembley.
actually they are playing some venues that are even larger. they are playing a couple 20,000 seaters. this site here will give you the seating capacity of all their shows.
http://www.lizardkingduran.com/tour.htm
and i was close, the arena here holds 12,000. we have an amphitheater here that seats 20,000+. the only time it ever sells out though is for festivals like ozzfest or the warped tour kinda thing. britney spears might have sold it out as well but with the restraining order and all, i couldn't make it to that show. in fact i couldn't come within 200 feet of her.
Haha, nice.
Hats off to Duran then. Had no idea they could still fill places like that.
