I think the tall portion works for that kind of hat.. With the way you made the top of his hat, I would say it'd look even better to have the rim around the hat bent like a western.

Been planning this since I first saw photos of him... someone on the white board did it already, and I had planned to do the same thing... chop out a middle section and reglue the top part back on. I tried, and it still looked too tall, so I kept it lopped off and just resculpted the top with green stuff.
I painted it black, still needs a drybrushing and some touch up, but I like this look way better than the tophat.

AoD...yeah, but straw? Bah. I have a leather hat I got to curve like that, takes some doing, but its worth it. Its easy to do with a felt hat, just spritz it with water and start working the curve you want. Don't get it soaking wet, just damp.
Oh, uh...nice custom. I like it better. Or, since I honestly don't care for the figure to start with, I should say I dislike yours less. [img]wink.gif[/img]
It was just a pic, I don't much care for Straw either.. My own's Felt, I didn't have the money for a leather one at the time I got it.. Thanks for the tip with the water though, it'll make getting the bastard back into shape easier (someone decided to sit on it while it was on my bed. He almost lost a nut or a few fingers if he hadn't have tried to straighten it out)

For the record, I'm not opposed to the tophat... it's just not what I have in mind when I think "Cowboy Spawn." I was planning on doing a Cowboy Spawn a while back, and it's the reason I bought my one and only 6 Faces of Madness figure... a Billy the Kid, with the intention of making a Cowboy Spawn out of it. When I heard of S27 (a while back... I won't say WHERE exactly, but those who were with me may recall...), I held off until I saw what McF had to offer. I am mostly pleased with his offering, but like I said, the hat wasn't what I had hoped for (I had never seen the art beforehand, even though I have that issue... I just haven't read it yet!).
Now if only this thing stopped stinking like gasoline... that'd be sweet. [img]wink.gif[/img]
