We're moving. To Ireland. Not sure yet if it will be Waterford, Kilkenny or Cork because I need to find an affordable flat to let.

Trying to do this long distance and understand the geography of places I've never been is going to be great fun.

After the short stint in Ireland, we're 95% percent sure that there is a long term (5+ years) move to Amsterdam.

Anybody want to buy a house, car, truck, motorcycle, furniture and other assorted junk? None of the electronics will work over the pond and I just bought a really cool coffee maker. [img]frown.gif[/img]

Don't know yet, Lan. The whole Amsterdam thing would make Bob the head of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) office. Since his company is gearing up for global expansion, if EMEA works and is successful, next move might be to Asia and then to South America.

Jump, we'll know by the end of the year if Amsterdam is a go; I'll probably return mid to end of January to put the house on the market and try to figure out what to do with all this STUFF! I'll probably be here 4 to 6 weeks and Trav will be here for a couple.

I thought Trav and I were doing quite well in not accumulating unwanted things, but just last weekend we loaded the truck and took things to Goodwill. I made an inventory for tax purposes, and it's five pages long. Looking around the house, I realized we've just scratched the surface. But seriously, since the move to Amsterdam is only at 95% (major client needs to sign off on the work), how does one start to divest oneself of STUFF? If we end up back here, I'll want it. If not, we have a small window in which to get rid of it. Freecycle is going to LOVE me.

I'll keep you all up to date on what's going on. Anyone who wants a postcard should email me your mailing address. I won't give them to any political pary.

Oh, and timeline -- Trav in Ireland now for two weeks; he was supposed to find a flat, but that has now fallen to me. He'll be back for a week and then he flies away. The plan is that I will arrive on 1 October. A friend keeps asking me how in the world do you pack for 4 or 5 months. [img]smile.gif[/img]

This place kind of reminds me of Stonehenge when you see the pictures and it looks so peaceful but you don?t hear all the traffic behind you.

Personally I think it's wonderful that you're going to be able to see and live in parts of the world that others (most others) only read about. There are way too many xenophobes in this country and qutie frankly i'm envious.

The damn doctors was wrong, I aint pregnent. I ate too many tacos and just had some backed up plumping. I went this morning (clogegd up the toilette) and feel a lot better now. I was going to drink myself right into a messcarriage if I had to. I done it before.

Have a nice trip too Europe you guys, say hi to Hitler for us! LOL.

Got two I need to get rid of. This one is running Linux. 256 MB of RAM, 13.6GB memory.

The other one runs Windows and is OLD! (2001) It could probably be upgraded.

My new flat screen is promised, so your person will need to buy a monitor.

I have a cousin who lives in Amsterdam. According to his mom, he (and his wife) wouldn't live anywhere else.

Coincidentally, Amsterdam is only 2.5 hours drive from my ancestral homeland of Melle, Germany.
