In other news I got Weezer tickets which made my entire week. Watched The Ramones Documentary "End Of The Century" last night, great flick.
What a great Album the Billy Idol album is! But as I said before who wants to play an Xmas song(as brilliant as it is!) out of season. People are gonna look at ya gone out cranking that up.
And in other news saw the New York Dolls new dvd last night. Brilliant!
Cool, I'm going to pick the Dolls DVD up at Best Buy today...Oh yeah!
In other news...that Gene Simmons DVD, speaking in tongues is atrocious. Holy low budget..kinda surprising for Simmons. A buddy of mine lent it to me.

Haven't heard anything off of it yet. Do know that all the reviews i have read on it give it 3/4 or 4/5 stars. And he what produced by the guy that did his first 2 albums.

Keith Forsey is the producer. The production is awesome IMO.
Well have just got hold of the Billy Idol one today. Have only listened to a couple of tracks so far but am liking it so far.
As for the New York Dolls dvd that is excellent have had it for a while now but its never moved to far from the dvd player.
Yeah, the production is quite stunning! It's a really good album, there is no doubt about that. IMO it is his best work since putting his voice to "Valley Of The Dolls", which I consider one of the greatest albums ever recorded.
***but then again...I also don't like anything he has done SINCE Generation X and that includes all of the Gen X material, and I think Steve Stevens is the most overrated guitarist in the history of music...so take my word for whatever they seem to be worth***

PS: Carl - Steve Stevens is ace. His 'ray-gun'
effect, according to one magazine, is achieveable
with a broken Budweiser can and a grudge, but
nonetheless, it changed things.

I have never heard anything from the guy that warrants the praise he gets all the time from people. Heck, on those first two Idol albums it could be any studio guitarist, as the only identity anywhere on those things is the voice.Quote:

Well, at this point in time I am listening to George Benson's "New Boss Guitar" and am on my way downstairs to continue my edumacation on my instrument with a little Jazz study and Rockabilly playing.

My sister, who is two years older than me, still hangs in the "Punk scene" and she still tries to get me to go to the local (Chicago...atleast an hour drive) shows with her. I just roll me eyes at her and continue to explain to her that I just can't relate to songs about teen angst and not being able to beat the system. But then she sends me to website of the bands she is hanging with, and they are all 40+ year old punks who still call themselves "Punks", and I just find it all a little sad. At 40 and they are still classifying themselves. [img]graemlins/sure.gif[/img]
