This is the closest I've ever come to having my taxes work out perfectly over a year. I don't know why, but I find an odd pleasure in this.

Congrats.
Now... what'd they make you do for them?
Cool!
I've got good news from a government agency, too......but I also have to hit up DMV for a new license, which sucks.
You win a few
You loose a few.............
Well, I did have to plunk down $522 bucks for the 60,000 mile work on my lovely Saturn this week. But I knew that was coming up.
I just bought 12 liters of 7% cider.
can't get beer ANYwhere today...
other than a restaurant or what-have-you, and then you gotta get food too.
you didn't plan that very well peeks...
Sculptey, good thing you got that check... otherwise you'd be screwed!
Why can't you buy beer today?
Good Friday.
all the vendors and bars are closed.
but there's one wine shop that's open.
and yeah, I didn't plan it too well.
but I didn't expect to be drinking, actually.
I expected to have a bunch of new Micronauts right now, but the guy at the shop wasn't in today.
so, I'll get hammered tonight, and get the Micros tomorrow.
same deal, different order.
btw, that works out to approx 40 beers.
What's good about Good Friday if there's no beer?
the fact I had to work on what should have been a day off?
no, that's not right.
seems to me there ain;t fuck all good aboot it.
till now.
well, there's good news all around, I just got weed, FREE! it's just a glorious day, then, isn't it?!
*prances away happily*
Good friday was good in Quebec since we can buy beer on Good Friday...and I had a few

As for tax return, my gf and I, together, should get around 4500$ in return.

I'm sure she doesn't appreciate you saying that....
I'm guessing it's an RRSP...
I invest my money in my liver.
it's already pretty big.

Sculpey - try sending the $6 in pennies.
I like it when I get between $500 and $1000 back.
Any more than that and I start thinking "Those FUCKERS have been STEALING MY MONEY all YEAR!!!"
Any less than that and I worry that I'm getting too close to the next tax bracket, like when my wife finished college, started working, and we owed the feds $3500.00 in taxes that year.
I had to take out a fucking LOAN to pay my taxes because it blindsided me. Upside was I took out a big enough loan to take my kids to Disney World for a week.
all the way
$3500 is right about my annual tax bill every year. This year my accountant got it down to just under $2000 and I literally hugged him.Quote:

I don't know for you guys but here with can ask to have more taken from our paycheck to prevent having to pay huge amount . When you have multiple jobs you don't pay as much onboth paycheck has you would pay if all the hours you've worked were at the same job

I've owned my own business of some sort for about 10 years, so there are taxes there that I could pay quarterly but I choose not to. There are also Capital Gians taxes that I pay on different investments that I have, while other investments are tax shelters......Quote:

In the end it gets VERY complicated, and every year I bring a box full of documents to my Accountant at tax time.
I keep receipts for everything. SOMEHOW I can justify purchasing Spawn I.85 for business reasons and therefore using it as a tax write-off........ (which is specifically why I have an accountant. He keeps me honest.)
