How many of you on the board have classic cars or hot rods? I love old cars, but sadly cannot find or afford many decent project cars here in the rust belt. I have been looking for a 54 chevy 2 door, but have not had much luck. was also thinking about a 70 cadillac that a friend of mine is selling, but it has a 500 cubic inch engine and gas is $2.30 a gallon here( I just bought a 1980 Chevy Chevette for $400, yeah, I know it's not cool, but it gets 32 miles per gallon!)
I have a red '61 Falcoln with black and grey interior (soon to be black and leopard print). It has kustom pinstriping and a metal flake top.
Its not my daily cruiser, its just for play.
I know Shelley Crash and Kustom 55 have hotrods.

I have a 1973 Ranchero that's pretty sweet i have it all original with the original black gloss with white tutone.under the hood i got the 351 cleveland small block it hauls ass.
ive always been into cars and i can afford to buy a nice custom but its just not practical for me now. with gas cost where it is and it will continue to rise im very happy with my civic. I have a chevy silverado also and am ready to dump that for a small Tacoma. Im glad i never got the bug for custom cars because i have money for other things now.
My wife and I have built many custom vehicles, from race-prepped Hondas to a fully 'bagged, body-dropped and shaved full-size Ford, to a hardcore rock-crawling Jeep (as well as a couple other Jeeps), and many others in between. We had a cherry, all-original '63 Caddy Coupe de Ville with 49,000 original miles that we sold in favor of other projects. As soon as school's done, we're going to be shopping for another project. There's several possibilities - I'd like to restore an old f-head military Jeep, or build a kustom '59 Caddy, or maybe even a hardcore, traditional lowrider ('62 Impala comes to mind.)
You guys just need to remember that it's cool to be a motorhead, no matter what style of vehicle you like.
i have an 84' nissan king cab, 4 more years and its a classic. No but for real, i'm in the market for a 30's model a ford. Just need the body and chassis. drop a 350 small block in there, man oh man total rat rod. Any know of any, please let me know.

I have a 1955 Pontiac Starchief 2 dr ht which is currently getting ready for paint. In the past I have owned; "ANGEL DUST" a 1960 Chevy Impala Bellflower style, a 1954 Buick kustom, 2 1954 Chevy 210's (one chopped with a 9" windshield)and in high school I had a 1956 Pontiac. Want pix of any, let me know

I currently have a 71 Elcamino SS with a small block 400...but the body needs a lot of work...the engine runs good....I mainly use it to get shitty with it in the back yard...but I'm looking for something to drop the engine in ....and will probably turn the front end of the Elcamino into a barbecue.....I used to have a 71 cutlass....but it was stolen........miss that car...
I have a classic but its not the typical hot rod, big engine classic. I've got a 63 Dodge Dart, which was really a family car and not considered a "cool car" by anyone. But I like stuff that has the "family" or "everyday" look of the era and I spruced it up real nice. Not to mention, its my first car so it holds a special place.

Heres my 55' chevy. Its been in the family since 56'. Its had some engine fires, and used to be baby blue, stock, and a bunch of history that im not gonna go into. It sat for years and years after the last fire, when i was 15 (in 97') i started workin on it again. I love this car, i learned how to drive on it, drove it all through high school, its been part of my life since well, always.

This has been a real good topic. It's interesting what cars you all drive. I always wanted an old classic American car but they are so expensive over here in the UK, both to buy and get spare parts for.
And if I did manage to get one then I doubt I could run it.....you may think $2.30 is expensive for gas, but spare a thought for us, we are currently paying ?3.82, which coverts to over $7.00..
I am suppose to go look at a 1940 studebaker champion this weekend....the guy started the project but is now in the process of building a house so he wants it out of his garage. He already chopped it 3-4 inches...but it still needs a lot of work. I'm hoping my small block 400 will fit in it........I'll post some images if I get it.....
It's not a "classic" yet, but I think my car is pretty damn cool. Here's the only photo I can find of it right now.

oh, also i wanted to ask you guys.does anybody know anything about the lonely kings custom car club. i know mike ness is in that club, ive seeing mike ness' cadillac, and it is awsome! , i have a pic somewhere. he also has a 54 chevy that the salinas boys built for him . if anyone wants to see the caddy let me know i will try to find the pic.
I drive a 2002 mustang, but would love to get a 69 mustang, fix it up and paint it midnight blue. Maybe in the future. I am saving my pennies to buy a house.
My Hyundai Lantra is a head turning Rock and Roll beast, a pure classic with plastic trim and oozes style. I did have a 68 Holden HK before I sold out.
I've only deal with old volvo's, but mine friend is building 28 or 29 chervolet rod.
