Well sorta. Last night on Dr. Who we got to see that last surviving Dalek. Unfortunately, it was the last soldier it's kind and with no one to give it killing orders...so it offed itself. I guess that kinda depresses the odds of them coming back in another storyline.

Dayyummmnn.... I remember a guy in College who had all of the episodes from the 60's or whatever up to that date, and there had been like 6 different doctors at that point.... how many actors have there been by now????

I thought, a new Doctor Who... cool... but then last week I saw an episode with some big, pot-bellied, hairless aliens on it and thought... "You have seriously got to be fucking kidding me. It's 2005 and you can't find talented individuals to create decent creatures on a low budget? Even I could do better than that. >click<".
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes, they could have done better with more modern state of the art effects but they wanted to keep the charm of the original campiness of the early shows. The aliens were quite funny in their idea of posing like humans. The only problem I had was the switch from actor in rubber suit to CGI was inconsistent. They lumbered in their big rubber suits but sprinted like cheetahs in the CGI.Quote:

Give it a chance Spore. Last nights Dalek episode was really good. The special effect of the Dalek opening up to reveal the alien inside was quite well done.
That would have been cool... I vaguely remember from the old show something about the Dalek hatchery... I think...
Nobody will ever replace Tom Baker as the Doc.
Ya know... they should do a movie and get Jeff Goldblum to play the Doc.

I just looked at the link and I only remember the Doctors up to the fifth one.... with the fourth being the one that stuck in my mind as "The" Doctor.

Seriously though, will they ever make a big-budget, feature film??? Alan Rickman would make a great Dr. Who.... [i]but knowing hollywood, they'd want a "young" "hip" Doctor.... so they'd use Colin Ferrel, or Orlando Bloom. [img]rolleyes.gif[/img]

There was a sort of medium budget TV movie that came out around '98. Does anyone remember that one? It wasn't bad. I think it was an American production too. A guy lent me the DVD about four years ago. Don't remember much about it tho. [img]confused.gif[/img]

RD was a weird one - especially later in the series when everyone was killed off and the guy with the cig was in suspended animation for 1 million years - and the cat they had eveolved into a human esque species - and the guy on the left in the pic was a hologram ........ better if you smoke something before watching it at that phase ;0

Not making fun at all - those later seasons needed some self medicating to get through them.
It was later than I had thought! Although with the seasons - that is about right since it was a UK show - their seasons are wonkey at times - they'll do a few shows, then shove other ones on and maybe next year you'll get the rest of the season.

BTW, Baimun, Rowan Atkinson *WAS* Doctor Who for a special, a very funny one indeed. But they don't count that as an incarnation. The video is availabel at most comic cons.
I loved the Douglas Adams tribute episode (Starship Titanic all the way from the spinning props to the wacky humor). This one was okay, I kept hoping to hear more about the Great Time War that killed all the Time Lords and Daleks. Because how CAN all the Time Lords be killed off? They exist in TIME! They travel back and forth, all about, and in three separate shows I know of, the Doctor himself met the Doctor himselves (Two Doctors, Three Doctors, and Five Doctors). Heck, the Master has been even hinted at as being a final incarnation of the Doctor. If he can tell there are no more Gallifreans, does that mean the Master is dead?

Billie Piper is a munter, i agree with andy on the CG thing, the 98 Who sucked balls (to my memory, haven't watched it since release), Baker is the best doctor, Simon Pegg is the best Who bad guy since Davros, I thought the dalek on that episode was very out of character and Lister was frozen on the very first episode of RD. I reccomend checking the show out, all the the last series was a bit sketchy as it was written after the Grant/Naylor split. *breathes deeply* Oh, and I dont know if you know, but eccleston has already quit, the guy who played Cassanova is the new doctor. As for Doug Adams, BBC's site has a web episode rehashed from one of the Tom Baker stories that Adams wrote. Only here Paul McGowan as the 8th Doctor is used instead of Tom.
