CJ does live in Tokyo and I too had assumed that his band must be japanese. God, what must that look like. A 6ft Indian and three orientals with outsized guitars. Vow Wow all is forgiven. However, the brown one informs me that he is currently bunked up in Essex and not going home till he has sorted his deal.

Just got four new post Wildhearts tracks off CJ. Pure punk pop dynamite. I was astonished by how good it all is. Made me realise that his input into the Hearts was much more than i realised.
Unfortunately he has threatened to trample me with his pet elephant if I pass anything on at the moment as he is negotiating, whatever that means. soon as I can, I will. Watch out for them. Its class A bubblegum.

Good to hear. I always liked the Honeycrack and Jellys stuff too - the Wildhearts lost something major when CJ left originally. That band always needed CJ and Ginger to work properly, it was the balance between the two of them that made it as good as it was.
I hear CJ lives in Japan now, is the new band based there?

We seem to have inadvertantly stumbled across Laviathan. ECT or as it was more commonly known Every Cock Up Transmitted. I can remember the Grip, with fireworks, Persian Risk, very dodgy Sub Priest outfit, Marino, Tygers of Tantang, jesus, and an awsome band called Warrior, who may have been Jap.
We seem to have inadvertantly stumbled across Laviathan. ECT or as it was more commonly known Every Cock Up Transmitted. I can remember the Grip, with fireworks, Persian Risk, very dodgy Sub Priest outfit, Marino, Tygers of Tantang, jesus, and an awsome band called Warrior, who may have been Jap.
How can you say Redd Kross were over rated, you souless Philistine. I cant think of a band more under rated. Album after album of great surf tinged west coast bubblegum punk. And the McDonalds looked as cool as fuck! It was such a shame that they couldnt get the big break. They finally just stopped enjoying it i think, which is a tragic waste of a great band. I recently found their Third Eye album on CD in a Camden record fayre for 6 quid. Wash you mouth out with coal dust Taffy.
I have that Grip performance stashed away somewhere on a VHS.

Warrior were American, incidentally. They did an album called "Fighting For The Earth", I recall. Good stuff.
You are the man Ratbag. Fighting for the earth was indeed the track. It had a vocoder effect on the vocal, kinda like the devil doing a Peter Frampton impression. Madam X wih Mr Bach on Vox as i remember.

The New Torpedoes, and Tarazarra( who feat. Danielz who went on to being in T-rex covers band T-Rextasy) Torme with Phil Lewis, Phil Lynott and Gary Moore. Waysted, The Gunslingers and Pet Hate all appeared on the Show!

When I was 17 my band pre RR supported Tarazara at Tiffanys ballroom in Hull. 85 God help me!
The keyboard player in Tarazara was a guy called Eddie Hunter who later popped up in Eastenders in Sharon and Kelvins band.
Off to shoot myself in the face now. I deserve it for knowing that.

Tarazara Played the Wolfe in Coventry too, which is where I met 'em. I have some pics, gonna have to dig 'em out. I used to have a recording But it got lost along the way.

Hey thanks for that link...put a smile on my face. Should have a 12 track demo ready in about 2 months. Will not be doing any shows till September but i will keep you up to date with whats happening. The new songs are rocking and i think a lot of people will be surprised when they hear the whole album as there are a couple of songs which are in a style i am not known for. Still very positive, it is early days yet and it is nice to be able to demo all my songs.

Honeycrack were one of my fav bands. Unbelievable to hear Willie and Ginger playin Animals last xmas (Gingers Birthday). That song is brilliant!
Incidently I did speak with CJ at that gig.
I keep asking him but he either forgets to address it in the mail or is avioding telling me. I suspect it is the former. They sound like a decnt bunch of players. Cant see Willie Dowling being involved at all, re the Honeycrack thing.
Ive just mailed CJ and asked him again who is in the band.
Willie is too busy with other projects and also Jackdaw4 which he is have a limited success with at moment.

I spoke to Willie at the aftershow and he was telling me he lives in France nowadays. He does a lot of film music. Not a lot of love left with him and CJ apparently. Dunno what that is about but Willie wouldnt play if C/J was getting up to play etc. Drama is never far from that lot.
Yeah CJ was not to talkative that night. When I asked him why he were't playing he said it was his night off!
Hey I was in the dressing room for a while after the show chatting with Willie catching up on old times. Had a chat with Ginger and took some pics with the band.
CJ left the party and flew straight back to Japan.
Im not surprised he wasnt talkative. Dont think he had been home in 9 months!

Re CJ and Willie. Who knows? That said, the person who told me that they were not on great terms has reasons to be a bit bitter and twisted around that particular coven of musicians. Namley the one who wasnt there. Might have been more bollocks tham substance. CJ was there to see the gig and afterall.
At the end of the day his new band are a class act. I dont think he gives too much of a F*** about what anyone else is doing or up to. Aint seen him this upbeat for along time. It shows in the songs

Too be honest dude, it is exactly what you\d expect. If you know the last wildies album there is Cj penned number called Out from the Inside.
Big chrous, walls of guitar and CJ on lead vocal rather than his royal Gingerness. Thats the new stuff to a tee. Beatlesy, Ramonsey, New York dollsy. Nack all like the Jellies.
Sounds great to me. The Honeycrack album was amazing.

CJ also sent me the V-Autos demos. As mentioned it is obviously CJ. The songs sound like a harsher version of the Jellys - more guitars.
As for Honeycrack that was virtually all Willie's work. Mark wrote one song and co-wrote one with Willie. CJ contributed some lyrics to some songs but basically it was Willie's album. Quite a few of the songs were written before Honeycrack even formed - before CJ left the Wildhearts.
