Nah. I'll prbably go watch it after all the nerds see it for the 80 millionth time. So I'll give it a couple of weeks.

I saw it last night and I was beyond disappointed.
I saw it back in 1977 at my local theater. it was amazing (for a 7 year old).

*The first hour and a half of the movie is filled with stupid pointless humor.
*It seems like Lucas tried to give the battle droids personalities which can be filed under pointless humor.
*General Grevious is a comeplete throw away character and they don't explain a damn thing about him.
*Vader (in the suit) has a total of about 2 minutes on screen before the movie ends and the 3 lines he actually has are lame and VERY un-Vader like.
*The Emperor, and at times the whole movie, seems like a bad parody of itself. A lot of times the Emperor comes off and more funny than anything else.
*There are some more plot holes that don't make this movie fit in with the 3 originals.
*The part involving the love story have some of the lamest lines I have ever heard in a movie and it all just seems tacked on.
*The reasons for Anakin going to the dark side dont' stay consistant for what the dark side stands for.
Thats all I can think of right now.... Here is what I did like...
*The whole Jedi extermination part of the movie was VERY VERY well done. I hate to say it... but I was kind of fighting back tears...
*The movie gets very dark in certain parts.
*The fighting is, for the most part, very well done.
*The fight sequence between Anakin and Obi-Wan is awesome. Especially the way Anakin gets taken out.
*Yoda, as always, is bad ass.
*The guy who played Anakin did a better job in this movie than the Ep2.
Sole Technologies (Etnies, Emerica, es) is renting out a movie theatre for employees, their friends and families @4:30 today. My girlfriend is bringing my son and I!!
I cant wait to see it...especially with a bunch of hot skaters! hehehe
I think tyhat the movie more than tied up all the loose ends.
For the one fellow that posted this...
"*The reasons for Anakin going to the dark side dont' stay consistant for what the dark side stands for."
Itis consistant w/ what the dark side stands for. Lies, deception and darkess.
The movie is defiantly one of the best in the series. Naturally you are going to have the people that say it doesnt compare to the originals. Fact is, the original trilogy was amazing. These movies were not made to blow those away. It cant be done. For most of us Star Wars was a big part of our childhoods. So no movie that comes out as we are adults is going to compare to that.
All in all, the movie was fuckin' amazing.
Yay to me for turning this board into a geek discussion!
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">I am interested in why you we're dispaointed in the movie.Quote:

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">The dark side is about selfishness. They say so in Episode 3. Anikin's reasons (or at least the biggest reason) for going to the dark side was that he wanted to use the powers to save some one else. In my mind that doesn't really add up.Quote:

and he also tried to kill her. he went to the dark side, cause he wanted to be the most powerful jedi ever. The emporor just used deception to get him over.
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">I agree. In the other movies he wanted to be all power. But in this one it seemed like that took a back seat to the love story.Quote:

no offense guys, but i always thought you were all a bunch of greaser tough guys and not a bunch of star wars groupie wusbags! Grow a set of testicles or take the darkside debate to the 3 doors down messageboard. Private hell, i wonder about you sometimes, should i be worried? Dont tell me you know the interstellar warp spead quotient of the Millenium Falcon, or is it just not that dependable?
You know im just bustin your balls right?
I know this has nothing to do w/ Social D. But I went and saw Star Wars EPIII. It was fuckin' amazing! Anyone else see it?
Saw it last night! Opening shot was spectacular and the rest of the flick was as well! I got chills when they put the mask on Vader for the first time and you hear him breathe for the "first" time!
oh shit luke, you too??????????????
i've seen all of them, save for the new one, and i couldn't tell you the plot of any of them if my life depended on it. they are pretty to look at though
Hey! We are great STAR WARS fans from 1989! We was at movie theatre today and back to our hostel now. Episode 3 is great!!!! When Padme says: "Luke" we was touched so deep in heart! It's cool to find SW fans here
I think Jar Jar Binks can kick a JaWa's ass any day.
ahh, its a movie. Ill be the first to admit Im a geek. A lot of greasers I know feel the same way I do bout' SW.
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">Ouch.... you just had to bring testicles into this!!!! Speaking of which... how can you bust my balls if I haven't grown them yet.... Quote:

I thought it was amazing. It might even be my favorite of the 6. I'll have to watch it a few more times to decide for sure.
I agree! I loved it!
I definitley enjoyed the hell out of it. It was easily the best of the new ones. But man, some of that romance dialogue was laughable. "Annakin, hold me." I could put on General Hospital if I want to see romance written that poorly.

My eyes ached from rolling them so much during those scenes.
i caught it this fri and loved it.
Though i do agree that the love scene lines where pretty damn lame. Also the darth line doesnt seem like anything darth would ever say. And I coulda done without the big "nooooo" from him
I still think it was a great movie, and the best of the new ones. But empire still holds my title
i have it on cd's but still havn't watched it.....
empire is a hard one to beat. I hear that Kevin Smith is looking at to direct the TV series.
hello, I'm new here! but anyways...I am going to see Star Wars episode 111 on Memorial day, it sounds like it is very good from what you guys have said..so I want ot see it.
I liked how the movie ended showing scenery or moments that tie it to the next movie. Luke's aunt and uncle are seen feet away from where they will die. The shot of the death star being built is awesome as well.
The movie is much better when you have some knowledge of the expanded universe. It fills a lot of holes that everyone brings up. Like General Grievous has a much more intricate role in the entire clone war and killing of jedi than is given credit to in the movie.
I just hope more movies are made (not by Lucas) ... like the Wars of the Sith (at one point there is an entire planet of them fighting the jedi) ... and the future ... how Luke rebuilds the jedi order.
Obviously a stars wars geek here ... but hey ... I saw at the original Star Wars premeiur at Chinese Mann Theatre in Hollywood and got to see R2 and 3PO ... awesome.
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">Well, I just saw it a couple of days ago, and have to say that crossing into the dark side was his destiny - in his blood - like a born addiction. If you recall, he indicates pre-nightmares that he's not happy with his limitations - if you will - of being a Jedi master. He didn't cross over to save anyone. It's just a comfortable excuse. Lucas is a genius.Quote:

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">I disagree. Lucas contracted a lot of things in the expanded universe when he made Episode 3.Quote:
