well i think in this case it was understood she didnt mean everyone...and besides..i think weve all made comments before only refering to certain groups but forgot to seperate it with words like "some"

like when we say life sucks..not every life sucks im sure... or people suck...certainly not all of them...some things are just understood...we do it without even thinking about it quite frankly...im sure thats the case here...

you do say "some people suck"

you could modify it and make it almost equal by stating "some parts of life suck"...just as saying "some parts of people suck" is not proper...ahhhhhhhh crap-
