I'm curious as to how you all discovered this board. Cherry told me about it. I don't think I would have ever found it on my own.

I was surfing the web for more AG related sites and stumbled upon this link. I do not surf anymore. I get all I want and need here! HEE-HAW!!!!
I was doing a google or yahoo search (I don't remember which) on American Girl furniture. So I guess you would say I just happened upon it. I am so glad I did! This board has made my collecting seem authentic and ok. Thank you all!

"This board has made my collecting seem authentic and ok"
Diito! My sentiments exactly!! I get such flack about my AG obsession from extended family.
I will always [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] my 's
First, I found Curt's great homepage through google and in his guestbook someone had mentioned Ann's homepage "Society of American Girl Collectors", which eventually led me here. Phew, quite a journey
I did a google search for 'American Girl inside information secrets' or something of that sort a couple times because once a customer mentioned she had seen the picture of Marisol months before she was released at the end of December. I wanted to get in on that action because I only got to see Marisol the week before she was released. My first few attempts were fruitless, except for finding Curt's site. Then in June, the google search hit the jackpot!
I found it while googling for information on the MCM sale.
I googled "American Girl" with some specific information (I do not remember now what it was) and the link I got was from a post on this board.
Been here ever since, love it, love ya'll, and cannot imagine not having it! It's the one place where no one thinks I've completely lost it...
Came across it from a post someone made in a lj of someone else.
I was on a computer away from home and forgot the address of Curt Danhauser's site, so I did a Google search for it. A few hits down was this site: http://www.justmagicdolls.com/AGFami...anGirl/AG.htm, which led me to the SOAGC, which led me to the message boards! Whew! I'm so happy I found these boards. Between all the collectors here, we seem to have figured out just about everything there is to know about AG.
I don't think I would have found this board on my own either, I can't even remember the web address! I had purchased some AG items from djsnjones(she's a moderator here, sorry I don't remember your name!) from ebay and she emailed me after all the transactions were finished to tell me about the SOAGC homepage. It took me a while before I even went to see what the link was that she gave me, and even then I didn't click on the "message board" right away. Finally I lurked on the board for a couple of weeks and then joined in January this year. I've really enjoyed reading and posting here, and it's all because of her! (Is her first name Joy? So sorry I can't remember, but thanks!!)

After really taking more interest in AG, I did a google search one day for American Girl message boards, and voila!
I found it through the SOAGC, which I found through a search for "American Girl Collectors"
I googled looking for codes for AG (can you tell I am married to a CPA and with all this code talk that was happening on this board I found it and am so glad I did. Though I do more reading then posting

I created it. LOL!
I purchased tickets to the Madison Children's Museum benefit sale this year. I really wanted to find out more information about the sale and what to expect so I went searching for information. I stumbled upon the board and am now 'hooked'. Thanks for everyone's help as it did make my trip to the sale much more successful! I love reading the posts but haven't done much posting myself yet. - Meg B.
I'm not 100% sure but I think someone that used to post on Curt's guestbook mentioned this site and I lurked for a while.
I was doing a search for American Girl Book information (about first editions and things like that) and it brought me to Emily's site, and she then directed me to here!
I googled "Felicity" and "Elizabeth" And "American Girl" hoping to find out information about the movie. Once I found this treasure, I didn't want to let it go.
I am the only one I know where I live and in my family that likes dolls. After some people had called me "Freak" for still playing with dolls I started to think maybe something really was wrong with me. But at the same time I was positive I couldn't be the only adult who still played with dolls. So I entered a search for adults who play with dolls (or something similar) and one of the more interesting links was to a fansite, but it appeared to be abandoned.
I almost went back to searching, but then I noticed the guestbook and thought "Hey, maybe someone like me has signed it" so I decided to check it out. One of the entries was from Ann and she mentioned her website and that it was kinda geared towards adults. It sounded exactly like what I wanted, so I clicked the link (desperately hoping it wasn't another abandoned website) and from that site I found this messageboard. And now I don't feel like a freak. I had bought Felicity, and remembered the patterns from older catalogues (but realized they were no longer available from AG). So I searched on eBay, and found some - two, to be precise. Not realizing how eBay worked, and afraid that I'd lose both, I bid on both - and won them both! Fortunately later I was able to sell one set to someone here. But the seller of one set suggested I come and visit this Board - so here I have been for a couple of years now. Thanks to whoever that was!
Google led me to it. I was new to AG and interested in Felicity's disappearing collection and found this site. Now I don't know how I'd live without you wonderful people!!!
I've learned so much--my family thinks I'm the AG expert. It's pretty hilarious.
I did an internet search way back in the summer of 2002, right after I had bought my Kit doll. I wanted to see if there were other adults out there who still loved dolls, in the hope that I would find out I wasn't alone and the only weird college girl with AG dolls all over. I found Ann's Society of American Girl Collectors and saw that I was indeed not alone. This was back before this board was even on Hostboard - it was a much smaller board and harder to use, but it still had great people and information on it. I've been here ever since!
I found out by a friend on the club at american girl club
Last summer, after going to AGPNY and getting Samantha and Nellie, I googled "American Girl Dolls" and stumbled across some of the AG fan sites out there. Going to the Links pages on those sites lead me to Hostboard one night, and I've been hooked ever since.
I had won an eBay auction (a Felicity dress) and the seller either emailed me or sent a note with the dress. I checked it out and have been hook ever since.
