That crashed my browser, so I didn't get to see the video, but I am guessing it is Europe's FINAL COUNTDOWN video? And, they ARE a great band! [img]smile.gif[/img]
Man those guys were good...and what stage presence!
BTW- my browser didn't crash but all my flowers wilted and all the dogs in the neighborhood started howling...

Heh! One of the negative things about the Internet. Once some proud parent tapes their kid playing music, they suddenly end as a amusement for everyone else.
Give them a break, they didn't choose to be linked to here, they are at their own level and are obiously enjoying playing there, and they probably end up laughing at themselves a couple of years from now as they've developed, and that's great, but not fair having the whole music/internet industry looking at their playing with complete arrogance and disgust.
None of us woke up at age 15 and just walked up with another band of friends and just played a tune perfectly. Everything comes with experience.
There's alot of this in Denmark at the moment. Some young kids recording something they're proud of! and then when people are gonna comment they just break out in complete laughter.
That's like laughin at a kid trying to ride a 2 wheeled bike for the first time, when yourself were in the same situation some years ago.
Final Countdown is a matter of fact, not a very easy tune TBH!
It brings a smile to me while watching, but again, they did not choose, that everyone of us here should watch their performance, and this whole circus of this clip should be roaming every drummerboard everywhere.

Personally, I think that you should be required to apply for a license before you are allowed to purchase a musical instrument (proving some general knowledge and understanding), and then, before you are allowed to perform ANYWHERE in public, you should have to request a permit (and perhaps pass a test to prove not only knowledge, but talent/skill). The only thing worse than the gtrst & bassist's stage presence was the drummer's groove...& the only thing worse than the drumrs groove was the keybd patch...& the only thing worse than the keybd patch was the lead vox!! Don't even get me started on the drum sound or overall mix...
With all due respect klemme; when i was 15, I STILL would've run from this band like a crackhead leaving Sears with a "lifted" VCR...

Maybe they were a school-band of some sort, you know, once a week, one hour, play-together, with a teacher, play one gig infront of their parents, who thinks they're the best band in the world.

Awww the memories... My first was Mustang Sally, was like 6-7 years old or something like that, Think i dropped the tempo twice as fast, as the tuning on that guitar in the video [img]smile.gif[/img]

But I must tell you something.
Back in Highschool, we had to open somekind of welcome ceremony where every new student would come, and we were playing the Final Countdown.
The bass part on that tune is SOO hard to lock in with - It's a struggle. getting the thing, sound NOT mechanical or digital, but having the groove swinging is a serious task!.
The Form of the tune is the next thing. It's not a blues, not a C, F, G pop tune. it has alot of parts that has to be known, and has to be build up to, in terms of sound and dynamics, a small bit of breaks too!
It's a challenging arrangement, that the swedes are known to be making for years and years!
