Violin Set

Does anyone have the violin set? It's one of the Today accessories. I ordered it today as a total impulse buy while also ordering some of the new Felicity/Elizabeth items. Hope I'm not disappointed. DD is starting violin lessons next week, so I thought it would be an appropriate Xmas gift.

Please post what you think after it arrives. I keep looking at it...almost got it during the whole Code Frenzy, and decided not to.

I think, though, that Hana or Olivia plays (they're not telling me for sure which one), so I'd like to know what you think.

I got it about 8 years ago, I don't know how different it is now but I love it. It's one of the few AG accessories I have and I think it's beautiful. Of course, I'm biased because I play the violin...

My friend's cousin got it, and when she opened it up all the strings fell apart. Don't get scared though! Cause I've heard from others that they love it, and that it is absolutely beautiful.

I'm glad someone mentioned it. I was thinking about getting it myself. It's just so cute! I hope to get both the flute and the violin someday. I was going to get it with my big order, but I think one more thing would make me officially bonkers! [img]eek.gif[/img]

I got the violin when it first came out, so I don't know if it's changed. If it hasn't, then it's very high quality. The violin actually plays a little, the music books have real music, the case is high quality and it even comes with a little piece of Rosin!

I dont have the violin set...but i do have the flute set. I recieved it around 3 years ago and i absolutly love it! [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

We have the flute and love it, I want to get DD the violin as well

I bought the violin and flute set during my code frenzy. I was too cheap to buy it otherwise.

I used to play the violin many, many years ago. DD always loved the set, so I bought it. I ended up lugging it on the train to Chicago to exchange it though. I ended up going through about 6 while at the store before finding one that was perfect.

The detail on the set is just amazing! Well worth the money imo.

My daughter just started playing the violin and she is so excited about it!!! I think I will get her this set for her birthday next month. Hopefully we will get a good one. I like that it is real music in the books. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I bought one for a friend of mine whose father had died recently. He played the violin. She told me that it looked exactly like her father's. That good enough of an endorsement for me so I bought one for myself.

I come from a family of violinists, violists, and cellists! I love this set.

However, it is hard to find one where the bridge has not collapsed. At AGPNY last winter, I had to open at least 7 or 8 boxes before finding one to my liking. I'd recommend ordering it from a PS and asking her to put a little extra padding in the box to protect it. Otherwise, just pick it up yourself at AGP.

I used to play the violin and have it is is SOOO cool! Just like the real thing! The rosin, bridge, strings EVERYTHING! I so recomend it to anyone!

Its definitely worth buying. We have the violin set and hope to someday own the flute set. The detail is pretty amazing.

I play the violin and I got the little one for Christmas a long time ago. The wooden part is well made. The strings are just regular wire, and the bow hair on mine came really loose (you can't tighten it, of course). You can't actually play any really good sounding stuff on it, but it looks nice and it is very accurate.

I also have the flute, but the keys don't move at all and it is solid, so you can't make it produce any sound. Again, it is very cute though!
