I've never, ever seen someone with naturally red hair who didn't have freckles. Even Felicity should have them. I know it wasn't fashionable to have them but I'm sure she had them, just covered them up. The actress who is playing Felicty in the movie has tons of freckles. I have more auburnish hair and I had a lot of freckles when I was younger. Not one of the red-headed dolls have them, even all 3 redheaded AGOTs.
I totally agree. Our OOAK Marlo has red hair and freckles. She was a Samantha who lost her wig. I replaced it with a short red one and freckled her myself. She is my favorite right now. My MIL is Irish with red hair and tons of freckles. Marlo looks great in the Irish Dance Costume. I wish AG would make one.
I deffinitly think at least *some* should have freckles. Maybe not all, though, that seems like a stereotype, and as most people with freckles say they hate them, that wouldn't be the best thing for them to do.
However, I'm not very freckly, nor am I red-headed. And those two things are 2 of my absolute favorite things when it comes to a person's appearance. If AG were to make a doll with (I'd prefer long) RED hair, normal Green (I'd take blue, too, only green is my absolute favorite color eyes) eyes, and freckles, I would buy her in a heartbeat. No doubt about it. I have 5 dolls, and 3 of them are red-headed. I would love to have more any shade red-haired AGs, but I would prefer them to make one with carroty orange hair. I'm going to rewig my AGT to give her carroty hair, as the Felicity auburn doesn't do enough for me to warrant two dolls with the same hair color!
Felicity DID have freckles in the books. Page 17 of Felicity Learns a Lesson, "Her nose had been rubbed with lemon juice to bleach out the freckles."
I can't wait until AG makes a RED HAIRED doll. I suspect it will happen next year-ish. Considering they keep bringing out new AGTs every year, I suspect next year will see a red head with green eyes and freckles (and maybe the new ringlets??).
There are sites devoted entirely to being a redhead, and I read on one that ALL redheads have freckles, if exposed to the sun. Felicity's books talk about her mother making her wear a hat so she doesn't freckle, part of her mother's desire for her to be ladylike.
If AG ever makes a Ruthie and they don't mess her up, my Ruthie is going to become Ann, and she's getting WAY more freckles (she was a Kit so she has some now).
Heather
(strawberry blonde and very freckled)
My mom was a redhead and highly freckled. She told me she used to search on my brother's and my heads when we were children, desperately searching for red hair.
I agree 100%. I ended up taking a My Twinn doll and putting freckles on her. Because I believe the same thing about Felicity, I really had to refrain myself from adding freckles to her once I had the paint out! It's so easy to do . . . there are a lot of good websites online about it. The main thing to do is mix water with acrylic paint and dab it on unevenly with a toothpick for teeny ones and a very small paintbrush for larger ones. Anyway, if anyone wants to, it's easy and turns out great (I've only heard very positive comments about the "homemade" freckles). Who knows? Some day I might even put freckles on Felicity.
Anyway, I second the motion!

Girls with freckles go to great lengths to minimize their freckles, while a good percentage of those without them would like to have them. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes, that is what I found odd about the Felicity doll when I first saw her in the catalog. I had read all of the Felicity books first and KNEW she had freckles. Then I saw the doll and said, "What's with this? NO freckles..." Needless to say, Felicity is not in my collection.Quote:

Is there any way that I could get freckles put on one of my dolls? Is there anyone who would know how to do it professionally?
I agree...it's the only real gripe I have with the AGOT line. It seems funny that the only freckled AGOTs are the non-redheads--and even that's just a dusting, not a true "smattering" of freckles.
I'm another freckled strawberry blonde, but I may be in the minority because I actually LIKE my freckles. I figure it's the only chance for my pale Irish skin to show some color.

My cousin really wanted her daughter to have freckles, just like hers and just like mine. She freckeled right up the first time she was on the beach for 20 minutes, despite the 50 spf baby sunscreen. Now, at almost seven, she and her daddy have a nightly ritual where "counts her freckes" and she giggles herself silly. It's the cutest thing!
Everyone in my family, the blondes and the brunettes and the redheads, has freckles. I love freckles, and there's nothing cuter than a kid with freckles and missing teeth!
oooh, I am a strawberry blonde, and I love my freckles too!! I have a ton of them; no dusting of freckles here. My little cousin, Katrina, called them my "sprinkles" when she was three. My eyes are blue, not green though. My ancestors are from England, Ireland and Scotland (which explaines my coloring). I never get get a tan, but if I could smudge all of my freckles together . . . .haha. My skin tone is more on the pink side than the tan side. I guess we freckled freckle-lovers really are the minority.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Lol, that's *exactly* what I always say in defense of my tan-less skin! I really think my arms will look tan one day when a couple more freckles fill in. I'm Irish and Scotch, so summer means a lot of time in the shade at my house (and that fake spray tans will NEVER look natural either! )Quote:

I've seen several albums with Freckle Farm-ed dolls and think they've turned out quite well... good luck to anyone who decides to send a doll in!
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Taffy, do you know if they still sell these? I simply must have one. I used to ask my mom if a person could have freckles tattooed on, lol, this sounds much less painful Quote:

I hope when they make a true red head doll, they give her true freckles as well. This little dotted nose look they have going is awfully cute, but I really want to see a doll with loads of freckles. And not just on her face. Her arms and legs need some, too. That would probably be a bit too much work for them, but I would LOVE to see that.
Yes I've been hoping for a red head with freckles from AG since they came out with the tody girls. I have red hair with hazel green eyes and love my little bit of freckles (I burned quite a few of them off when I was in camp as a little girl =( ) I love red hair (I wanted to be Pipi as a little girl because I looked like her). It's a little sad that they haven't actually released any new redheads for the AGOT line in years. My 95 was the closest I could match to myself- Red hair with green eyes. I wish they would come out with a red head with no bangs (how about curls) and freckles...now that would be awesome (ALA Kate Winslet in Titanic)
Jenny =)
There is a boy who I have been friends with for a while. His hair is bright red, and all natural. There isn't one freckle on his face. Although his face is very pink and rosy LOL! I bought a red-haired (we'll, more so auburn) AG doll a few years ago, but she didn't have freckles. Now that you mention it, Felicity should have freckles.....
That is very true, the same pigment genes that render red hair goes hand in hand with those that cause freckles!
Taffy, thanks so much for checking!
I did a google search as well, and couldn't find anything that wasn't more recent than 2003. Hopefully they'll start selling them again, soon.
I had fun this afternoon coloring some freckles on my red-haired, green eyed AGT. They turned out really well, even though I only used a colored pencil. I think I'll go over them with paint (acrylic?) next time I'm at my grandparents' house. Now if only I could find the perfect carroty red haired wig for this doll, she would look exactly as I've always wished I looked. this one is the one I'm pretty sure on right now. Mostly because it's cheap, and if I don't like it I can always get another one, without spending 25 first.
Editing to say, I just ordered that wig, I hope it doesn't suck.

I have rewigged one or two dolls with that exact wig and it came out very well. I think you will like it.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That is really true. One of my earlier memories was about when I was 3 years old. My best friend and I were at a restuarant and we were debating who had more freckles. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes , and I had dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. We were arguing over who had more freckles, when truth be told-I only had 2! And he had one!Quote:

I've always liked freckles!

Freckles are cute and I would certainly like to see more of them. But not on all the redheaded AGs
One other interesting thing Ive noticed about red heads, is that their hair is often wavy to spiral curls. Not always of course, but more often than not. I wonder why this is? Is it another one of those genes that just sorts comes along with red hair? Or is it just a coincidence that Ive known mostly curly haired redheads?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I got the last one in Saks Fifth Avenue's Carmel store a couple of years ago. It is a Lanc?me Freckles Crayon. I just did a quick Google search and it appears to be available abroad, but I could find no US source.Quote:

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">It has to do with the shape of the hair (in cross-section). Round hair is straight; oval hair tends to curl or lay in waves; while flat hair is in tight curls or kinks.Quote:

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thank you soo much for saying that, Taffy, I was getting worried that, even for a 5 dollar wig, I wouldn't like it! About how long is it? It said "long" but it looked like it curled under quite a bit.Quote:

Thanks, again!
I used the instructions on the website Taffy posted, over a year ago. The instructions there are great and easy to follow, and the results look professional. I am so happy I put freckles on the two dolls that I put freckles on. Some day I might add freckles to Felicity (since I never plan on selling her or anything). Don't be afraid to try it--if you follow the intstructions, it will look great.
