I just talked to a local shop that has (and is bringing another one Monday), Sol front sol clips w/b16's for $2300. They also just sell engines, I didn't ask the price for those. If anyone is interested contact me for more.
I was checking them out as to if they would sell body parts only off them and they do not.

I'd like to pick one up up if its OBD2 so i can use the parts for my motor. I would like to know how much just the motor would cost me. thanks geo
Pricing on motors and rear sections please!!!! i'm REALLY debating if i should make a sol trailer or not. that'll be fun and i'd believe, easy...
I'll give them a call Monday on the OBDII motors, I didn't asked when I was there if they had any when I stopped in Robert. They just had a bunch on the floor, b16's or b18's (GSR), d16's, H22's, etc. as far as I know, I didn't look that close. No b18 Type-R's, that I would know from the valve cover and oil cap used on them. Is that what you want or a b16? Tell me so I can ask for the right thing.
Ed they only had front clips, no rear sections, but I'll ask about that too when I call, what engine are you looking for? B16, they did have those and you know it would have to be the same year or newer to pass emissions and be legal in this state, yours is a '94 right?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That sounds good, the one I saw was mostly stripped, no visors or windshield, or fenders, basically dash and motor and the bumper (which was ripped and cracked, that was what I was interested in). if you give me a name/place I can drop by and see them about it since I'm close by. What you said about the clips the guy stated about the same, most people just buy them for the motor and don't use the rest. He also said another front clip for a sol was coming in Monday or Tuesday so I'm going to check with them again and see if more of it is with it this time around. His price was $2300 for a whole front clip by the way for one with a b16, I didn't ask what year it was, I will this time next time I talk with them. Jeff a former member turned me on to this place, they had mostly Honda stuff with a few more/other brands in the mix. They had 12 or more of these at one end of the shop, I didn't count them at the time, it could of been more.Quote:

yeah i do know about how the motor has to be the same year or newer than the chassis rule. i'm probably looking for a gsr motor or a spare d16z6(if the Z6 is for dirt cheap). Thanks again geo! Next meet we have, remind me to give you $10 for a contribution for the website/team!!!

Thru a friend i have met a guy from lakewood that imports clips also. Mostly Nissans but they will do anything u just have to ask and they will order it.He does em for about 2200-2500 per clip. His clips are 100% complete 1/2 sections, but he will throw in any crazy parts the car might have.

well if you could my budget can only pay for a b16a motor obd2. i would like to know if they sell b18c5 topend. also how much. the b16 head should work just as well right. if so i would like to pick-up the b16a.
Playboi u should ask about a JDM D15B those can rev up into 8k with ease. They have balanced cranks and rods that make it do that. Plus I dont think they will be able to import D16z6 motors from japan.
As for Robert, I dont think u would want to go with anything less then a Type R or Gsr head. Those 2 are built way better then a B16 and they flow so much more.
Last i asked my friend he said his buddy could import a JDM Type R integra Clip but the price was very steep.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">He wouldn't want a GSR head as you can only use an intake (split manifold, stock) for the GSR and yes the Skunk2 intake will work too, but not flow as well as the B16 and Type-R intake manifold, also the GSR stock cams are a lot milder then either of the other two heads (amost a auto type cam). The B16 and Type-R heads are exactly the same casting except for mild port job on the "R's" intake and the cams are pretty much the same too except on the intake side. If you want to go balls to the wall, then use CTR cams, they also will work with a b16 block.Quote:

Now get this you can pick up a Type-R head for $300-400 less then a b16 one new from Honda, go figure (I priced them).

dam i guess i been told wrong about the B18 being better flowing. I cant believe the R head would be cheaper from Honda lol crazy.

I havent been able to get ahold of my friend yet. Please Geo if you get ahold of your guy b4 i get ahold of mine please ask him about a front core support maybe cutting one out of a junked clip.
I have seen what else i need to fix since I recieved the headlight ( ty Bonnie ) and I dont think I can get it to work so Ill have to get a whole core and weld it in there. BAD THING IS THIS MEANS THE SOL IS DOWN A LIL LONGER unless i can get evrything heated up enough to move about 3/4 of an inch more.
Man im going to cry if I dont get my car back before winter.

On the radiator support they won't sell just that, they said to contact the person buying it for that stuff, I'll try to find out if they have a name and phone number for a person that got one on that part of it. I'll be going up there Wednesday afternoon after work to talk with them again on some other prices for engines and stuff.
The B18 for the GSR was made to be a performance and economy (the best of both worlds) engine with small runners for low speeds and then bigger runners for higher speeds, that's why the manifold looks so strange to the other Honda motors, it also has a vacuum operated valve in the manifold that opens and closes to open the second set of runners. It was Honda's experimental engine at the time. I think they used the same type of system on the Prelude too for a few years. Im just not to familar with those engines and the d blocks that much.

thanks for the info geo it help me out pretty good. iwas going to buy a used one on ebay for about the same price but i would rather buy brand new instead. so should i just stop buy my local acura dealer or is there any other way i can check it out.
i went to hinshaw's and they quoted me $1900 for the head with valves,springs and retainers. it doesnt come with a valve cover, vtec seloniod. I think im going to shop around a little more. I'm not sure were though maybe you guys could tell me where there are some websites or some thing were i can look this up.
