Hey, my week is going well. My son has had one bad teething day but all is well. Ry called me Monday night around 2300 and just asked if I got his address. He also said he wouldn't be able to talk to me for a while. Having my son has made this a lot easier.. so far. I don't have time to be lonely. Oh Ry is in 3-11. What is that? I thought they had names like Tiger and what not. I was wondering why there weren't any posts on the other site, I just get e-mails when there are. Now I know. Ok I have to get going I will check here now until further notice. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
One more thing.. only 79 more days until the 17 of Dec [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
ok so i finally have connection w/other OTS so's its nice...what great timing for the site to act up...well erik called his mom on monday and gave her the contact info so i havent talked to him since monday morning when they were on there way to base, and i miss him already...i havent sleep more then like 2 hours since he left i even tried a glass of wine beofre bed and that didnt help...luckily i have had test all week so i have been busy studying but the weekend is right around the corner and that should be interesting...hope ya'll are doin ok...can you up load a pic of your son? i love kids, i would be a nanny is i could...ok ladies i need to review the shoulder girdle...wish me luck on my test...night ya'll
Typing with one hand bc my daughter won't go to sleep. I am glad you found another place to post. I can't find the piece of paper I wrote (n kjaxzsdkj Gabricia is trying to say hi) my husbands info on. I am bummed the other site went down. That is really irritating. My daughter's name is the combo of Gabriel and Alicia (my middle name), her ninckname is Gaby. Our son is named Gleeson, Glee as in joyous and son as in life giving light. He is the joyous lifegiving light of our life. My husband didn't like Gleesun, he thought it was too much. Here is my last post from the other site. It was already having trouble when I was trying to post this so I saved it to word. Gotta run Gaby needs to get to bed.Talk at you later.
Well ladies sounds like you are all dw's and dg's of non-priors. Like I said before at least they are safe and sound in the good old USA, things could be worse. I am sure you will all have the strength to make it through this short three months. I know a graduate of this past class who said their upper class was pretty ****** to them, so they were very nice to the 06-01 class. Good news for our fellows who are to be treated by those who themeselves were treated well. I guess I am probably the matron of the group, should I divulge my age? My husband and I have been together 10 years, and married 9, and I didn't get married young. I guess I can be the motherly one who has had 10 years experience as an Air Force Wife. I realize it will be somewhat of a change to be an Officer Wife, but I have mingled with all different kinds in my 10 years. If you have any specific questions that I might be able to answer please let me know and I will try to respond. My husband was with AFSOC as a combat controller for 111/2 years, and there have been years when he has been gone 200 out of 365 days. We made the decision to pursue what AFSOC refers to as a career in the regular AF so he can spend more time at home with our now 7 year old son and 8 month old daughter. If I could send a picture of them I would, because they are my heart and soul. We have actually been through a lot in our 10 short years together, and this past year was particularly trying. After giving birth to our daughter in late December I almost died due to medical negligence. Suffice it to say I had emergency surgery in late January spent 9 days in the hospital and had 2 blood transfusions. I don't remember much but my husband said that kinda pushed him toward getting out of Special Tactics. Hopefully none of your husbands have choosen the Special Tactics path and if they have Bless You! Everyone agreed my husband had reached his pinnacle in that field so he was ready to move on, and we were ready for him to move on. Well best of luck to everyone during this exciting and somewhat trying time. It is going to be an adventure that is for sure!!!

Glo, I am sorry to hear about all that you went through. We have had our share as well. It all makes you that much stronger. I like how you chose your children's names. I took a lot of consideration in choosing our son's name as well.

The OTS site is not working again! I just tried to post and while it was being submitted it went down. That happens almost everytime I post I think it hates me. I have missed the site so much and already it is giving me trouble. Anyway does anyone know what 3-11 is? OK I am logging off goodnight
Melanie-- 3-11 is your hubby's flight number. I think (key word "think" [img]wink.gif[/img] ) that the 3 means he's a tiger flight. The 11-- I think-- is a section of the tiger flight. Of course, I know that's maybe not the correct terminology. Gloria, help explain this better you prior AF wife you.
For example, my husband is 3-13. So he is in the tiger flight. Another SO's was 3-10 and he is in the tiger flight too but a different group... Does that help?

Well ladies that other site tends to crash a lot. I only have a minute so I need to tell you, I went to David's bridal today mind you just to look and get some ideas. I have a silver dress of my sisters that I could wear to the DO and I am one of the most fruggle people you will meet when it comes to spending money on myself. My sister joined me to help with the kids and she insited I try on at least a few dresses. Gabe had already told me to buy whatever I wanted because I deserve it, but I really didn't want to spend money on myself uneccessarily. Well my sister was like come on Glo you didn't even buy a wedding dress when you got married because you insisted on using mine, you deserve this. So I reluctantly tried on some gowns and there was one in particular I feel in love with (even though it wasn't pink my favorite color) and it was on sale for $99.99 (originally $165). Well, when I got to looking it was on sale for $49.99, so even though I hate to spend the money I will buy it because my sister cried when she saw me in it (she was with me in the ER and all during my health drama she was right there so it's OK if she got a little emotional). Anyways I took it up to the front and when the lady rang it up it was, get this it was $29.99. So ladies I say get over to David's bridal and ask to see the final clearance rack and make sure you find out the real price before you decide yes or no. They have some dresses on sale for $99 and then they have the final markdown rack that is even a better deal. Hope this helps all of you. I have to get my kids to bed, as it is after 11pm. The other site is giving me fits too. I wish they could get it up and running consitently. It doesn't help that everytime it comes up and seems to be OK, but when it go to the forums it just keeps loading and loading and loading.
I also don't appreciate how after you type a post and hit submit, nothing happens... so I get impatient and hit submit again. I bet I just submitted that darn message three or four times. Sorry girls!

oh the start of the week always stinks, i wait tables and there is never a busy lunch croud on mondays. but oh well gotta do what ya gotta do. i took spanish in hightschool and funny it wasnt my forte either and i took it for 3 years, on th flip side it was better then latin.

Well I hope the site stays up long enough for me to post this. I am very boring too, so no need to worry. I love board games when we are at friendly functions. Try apples to Oranges, we played it recently at a gather and no alcohol was consumed but we were all laughing and giddy from playing it. Maybe I will pick it up and bring it to Montgomery. My hobbies are basically my family. I have a Masters in Public Administration, but I decided not to go back to work after having Gaby. I stayed home with Glee the first four years of his life and then when I decided to go to grad school my mom took care of him while I went to school full time and worked as a graduate assitant to pay for it. Needless to say I would live to get my law degree some day, but for now I can't imagine having to leave Gaby to go to class. Maybe in a couple of years I might apply, but who knows where we will be. Gabe is big into flying Radio Controlled Model Airplanes. He has been doing it since he was 7 and he is pretty OCD about it. He even took one with him to AL, in case he has any free time. He also has a dirt bike, my son has one to. Gabe has been riding bikes since 12 and Glee started at 4. I think I am raising a future stuntman not that I am that happy about it. I volunteer at my son's school and have been involoved with Glee's soccer (sp?) team, tee ball team, and cub scouts, but this fall I had to cut all that out because Gabe was going to be gone and I wasn't sure how things would go with having another child in my life while Gabe was gone. Not that we sit around the house we are pretty much busy every weekend, we find things to keep us busy believe me. Anyway, I talked to Gabe about three times yesterday, and he was saying that he had a lot of stuff to get done, and talking to us was helping to get a second wind and stay motivated. Well ladies they have definantly made it through the first week, so here's hoping that means they are in like flin, no turning back now. I am going to try to post this now, wish me luck.
PS Melanie Ethan is absolutely beautiful. Maybe we can coordinate to have our kids with the same child care provider durong the DO if neither of us have family members available to come to Montgomery that night. At least that way Glee who is 7 would be able to keep an eye on them and let us know if the sitter was adequate.
I got a letter in the mail with Nathan's handwriting on it and I was ecstatic. It ended up being a form letter from the chaplain. Aw well. Still pretty cool to get something from the OTS world.

Since I can't hang out on the site all evening, I've been surfing the net and checked to see if OTS graduation had been changed on the site (I don't know why I thought that would have been updated already). But, I came across info. for ASBC. They must've posted this somewhat recently. It's awesome. They have ASBC dates and information on officers being "accompanied" as in spouses and children can stay in billeting with their hubbies. Looks like the first ASBC date isn't until January 10, so even if they had to go to ASBC shortly after OTS it wouldn't be immediately. Ya-hoo! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
It was great in the begining and then I came home and now I am ordering pizza. My phone keeps dying and I took it up to Cingular and they said I need a new phone. MY current phone is through AT&T and Cing bought them out. They no longer carry AT&T phones. I would have to cancel my current contract "at no cost to me" (if I do they WILL be putting that in writing) but then I have to sign a new contract with them. They said all I would have to do is change my number to what ever is local where we move, and I can keep my current number. I know it sounds like a no brainer, but Ry and I have the same phones under the same contract and I would have to send him a new phone, his is in the car in AL for when he finally gets weekend passes. But they aren't allowed tohave cells and I don't want ot get him in trouble. Also what if we don't want to stay with them for another year? I need to ask Ry first. And now I am not sure he will be able to get through. I think it would be ok and when he is able to get weekend liberty I cna sen him the phone then. I think I am giving this more stress than it deserves. Radar was the start of this he took off today, and it makes me SO mad when he does that. He usually does it when E is sleeping, so I can't exactly go after him. Today E was awake, but I am tired of it. I was so ready to take him to the pound. If a police offcer happens to drive by while he is escaping it is a $350.00 fine. I love him so much and this (and some barking) is the only problem. I don't know why he does it, and I don't want to give up on him. IS this petty? I'm sure it is. But what if we move on base and he does this? It's not like I don't take him outside and play, we were at Peter's (the boy I babysit)house ALL day and he and Tayta were playing with their dogs ALL day. Even then my dogs kept jumping the fence to go to the front door, only to want to go outside again.
BUT other than that I had a very peaceful day sitting outside listening to the waterfall and watching the fish, and playing with Ethan soaking up the sunshine. [img]cool.gif[/img] oh and reading too. Ok I am going to order my pizza and pray a banana split will fall into my lap. I will be back. and on the AIM

No I don't have AIM, but I might look into it. Right now I have 15 bags of groceries calling me that need to be put away. We just spent 2 hours at Super Walmart and I got some really cool tiger stuff for the dayroom. I will get into all that later, let me get the groceries put away and watch Gilmore Girls and like Terminator Says "I'll Be Back!" Oh yeah I got the guys package mailed today, I forgot the Post Office was closed yesterday.

When Radar escapes does he come back of his own free will or do you really have to catch up with him? Lily is a flight risk; will not come back of her own volition. So I understand how big a pain in the butt that can be. The cell phone deal is kind of tricky... I would definitely wait and hope to hear from Ryan soon. Does he have his e-mail up and running? That's an idea.

I made letters out of orange and black felt to say their class name, flight name, etc. The word TIGERS has tiger print on it. I also sent additional tiger print fabric (to cover the podium/cork board/whatever). I know I mentioned the tiger tails my grandma made. They are so cute! I also sent orange and black garland (Halloween colors really worked out well for us) to frame doorway/board/again whatever. I think that's it... Oh and a stuffed tiger that roars. Don't know if that will go over well with Nathan (a bit girly-- but so fun) and it was only 3 dollars. I had to get it.

I also got some black and orange garland. I also found some orange indoor outdoor type Christmas lights. I found orange and black crepe paper, some palstic tigers and a stuffed tiger. I am also sending some playing cards, and a couple of B horror movies. Oh yeah I found a big poster of a fiercesome(SP?) looking tiger. I was going to send a boardgame or maybe bingo, but I don't know if they would want something like that. I will ask Gabe next time he calls. He said he thinks they are allowed to keep hard candy in the room so I sent some Jolly Ranchers. I also plan on sending butterscotch disks, cinnamon disks, and peppermints. I sent 21 full size assorted candy bars Hershey, Reeses, Kit Kat, Hershey w/ Almond and Smores. I sent 12 packs of Assorted Grandmas Homestyle Cookies for a total of 24 large cookies. I also sent individual packages of roasted salted peanuts. I plan on sending another box tomorrow with Nutty Buddy Bars, hard candies, little Debbie snack cakes assorted, and all the decorations I got.
The orange inside lights are a great find! I think they'll love that. And the treats are fantastic. Yum... I might have to go find some chocolate myself here in a minute.

Hey, well I am going to go to bed but I am glad to hear you sent great treats. I didn't send chocolate becuase I know they aren't suppose to have anything with caffine in it. I wasn't sure if chocolate counted- No, wait... yes, I did send some candy bars. I wish I could find stuff with tigers, I'm not kidding, I couldn't find ANYTHING, not even a stuffed toy. I am going to send that F-15 print though. Another questioon I have is how do oyu think we should dress for the swearing in ceremony, buisness casual or a dress? Although I didn't cry at our wedding, I was too worried about Ryan, the whole church was. But I wont embarhass him anymore. I did cry when he graduated from FIT, I was so proud of him and so nervous about what was coming next. He's so great. He always strives to go beyond his best. I miss his laugh. Ahhh, my mood jsut got a lot better. I can't wait to meet everyone, and their husbands if they are anything like mine, and I am sure they are. They are definately men to be proud of, great husbands, fathers, boyfriends, and just wonderful people period. I am so proud of all of them. Oh believe me I will cry, I try not to but I am one of those people who wears her heart on her sleeve. It is an emotional thing so I say a few tears are OK. I wouldn't be shocked if Gabe gets a little choked up. His dad retired a Major in the USAF. He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma when Gabe was 5 and he finally gave up fighting the disease when Gabe was 12. Gabe always felt guilty that he enlisted instead of getting his degree and becoming an officer. Well that no longer matters. I am so excited for all of us. I will probably cry enough for everybody there. I need to get to bed too, I am tired tonight as I am every night but I am not going to worry about getting the dishes done before I go to bed. It's OK to give myself a break sometimes. Anyways, here is to the site getting fixed. Sweet Dreams
Hello, I am at out friends house feeding teh dogs and hanging out in the garden. Ethan is playing, man he is all over the place and I didn't bring my camera. Anyway, I have been trying to get on the site and go figure, it must be down. I hope everyone is well... I need my OTS fix [img]graemlins/cry_smile.gif[/img]
Well, Ethan woke up at 6 and went back to sleep after a bottle. It's funny when he wakes up and he doesn't want too. He keeps his eyes closed and wrinkles his forehead and does this complaining whine with his thumb in his mouth. For the past few days when he wakes up for the morning I have put him in bed with me and held onto him so I can get just a few more minutes. He will be very still and quiet when he knows you are sleeping, very polite, and when you open your eyes he is always looking right into them and he smiles very big. I use to think waking up at the same time Ry does and looking at eachother at the same time was the best- still is great- but there's nothing like Ethan smiling at you in the morning. Anyway, as of 0650, the site is still down. My phone died again last night so I have no way of knowing if Ry called. I am just going to have to get a new one. Ry will get over it or he will understand. I am going to check the mall today, maybe there is still an AT&T place there so all I would have to do is get a phone but I doubt it. Ry would assume I was sleeping so he wouldn't call the house- I don't think he would anyway. It will get worked out. I love the quote, Melanie! I'm not sure which one I am today... It probably won't be hard to figure it out after a few hours of being awake. That's right. I slept in until 9:00. And it was wonderful! But now I'm bored. I guess it gives me time to do all those little things I've put off because I've been working daily.
Did anyone else get Sarah's e-mail about graduation? She said Devin told her it has been officially moved-- I like how she added that they reserve the right to move it. What a stinky thing for OTS to do. I think I'm a lucky one that I'm not buying a plane ticket, just driving. Are we going to move on the reserving of rooms? Maybe we should wait until we all get the go ahead from our men.
I can't wait to get info. about DEERS. That's going to make it seem very real to me. Whoo-hoo!
