Latest update takes it further to the southwest making landfall on the Yucatan Peninsula.

Looking at the 5 day, it looks like you wont be getting anything from it GL, that's (at least) some good news.

Might be more weather trouble brewing down in the gulf

Now, according to the 5 day chart, it looks like it is gonna head for south florida.

I have been folowing it in the news and on the tropical prediction center on-line. A lot of "unknowns" for this one, but concensus is it will likely lose strength and definition after making landfall. Fortunately, as late in the year as it is the Gulf waters have cooled a lot (I went snorkeling yesterday and I can attest to that personally!) Keep us in your thoughts and hope for the best. A hurricane has not made direct landfall on Tampa Bay since 1921 when one slammed into Tarpon Springs (north of Clearwater and Tampa). 84 years is pushing the odds I know... [img]confused.gif[/img]

Make sure you have a "plan of action" just in case GL.

Well it has now strengthened into the strongest Atlantic storm on record. It is forcast to hit south of my area by a safe distance, and possibly miss southern Florida altogether and go up the east coast along a ridge of high pressure in the Atlantic. I hope it tracks out into the Atlantic because the water is significantly colder there this time of year and it will lose strength quickly.

Yeah, a category 5 is nothing to mess with [img]eek.gif[/img]

Heard they are allready ordering evactuations of the keys.

Or for that matter, if I hadn't supported the beef industry and its millions of belching cows, perhaps Florida would be a much safer place.

Actually, that would be the vegans fault.

GL, weatherman Trav says you should pay attention to Wilma.

Looks like the eye will be to the south of GL, but that he should see quite a bit of nasty weather from it.

Hold on tight GL, and get the heck out if it looks like it's coming your way.
