Remember, this is essentially a single ply head with a thin underlay at the outer edge of the head to subtly dampen unwanted overtones. This is not a double ply head like a pinstripe. I think alot of people think of it as a double ply head because it looks like a pinstripe.Quote:

Glad you guys enjoyed these...His setup was 10,12,14,16 w/ a 20 inch kick lifted up. The snare was his #1 production model w/ metal rims and steel shell. He had coated Ambassadors on the toms, with Moongels; Coated Powerstroke 3 on the snare (good eye Jonas [img]smile.gif[/img] , He also had one of those little Evans E-pads in the kick. The drums sounded really good through the PA, very focused and deep as you would expect.

Dazzler, Gadd has been using the double pedal since at least starting touring with Clapton, or at least that's when I noticed him to start using it.

Since Rupp's sold out to out of state ownership, they have fallen off quite a bit. Bob Rupp WAS Rupp's and he's gone. We are actually (from what I'm told) the second largest independent Zildjian dealer in the Rocky Mountain region. We also do a good job presenting clinics, so they had faith in us there. Also, I'm told Gadd insisted this tour be only of smaller, independent dealers, not GC's, sam ash [img]graemlins/devil.gif[/img] , etc. That's really cool of him.
All that said, I have no idea why they chose us! I'm still not sure it really happened!
Sorry but does it make any advantage or sense to use both moongel on floor tom mounted like that ? ( rather then use classic 3 leg assembly ), floor tom mounted like that give more resonance, which are attenuated buy moongel no ? [img]confused.gif[/img]

Lastnight's clinic was great.
Had a surprise phone call in the morning from Marc Atkinson saying 'hey, i'm coming down to the clinic'..... so it as an unexpected surprise. He brought he bass player from his gig along with the drummer for Charo, really nice guys.
We hung out, talked with JohnnyD, said hi to Gadd.

After the clinic, Marc had to drive back to Vegas for they are flying out this morning for a gig.

I did find it interesting he wasn't playing the Gadd snare with the wood hoops. Does he not often play with the wood hoops?
he mentioned lastnight switching back to aluminum diecast over the wood for he likes that sound better.
