I was fortunate enough to be at that very clinic...one of the best I've ever been to. Todd's playing was flawless but not at all boring. He's become one of my favorite "new" drummers (along with DiCenso and several others).
What I really like about Todd's playing is exactly what I find is sometimemes missing with the boogerized...ahem, I mean, "Gruberized" Weckl, Smith, Peart: he ROCKS! It's refreshing to see (hear) someone hit a damn drum like he means it once in a while and ride a groove for more than 1.3 bars.
Now, what would really be great would be for Todd to release that clinic as an official bootleg [img]wink.gif[/img] , like Virgil did a few years back. I'd certainly buy one. His open solo that night was one of the best I've ever heard.
I agree about the authority with which Todd plays. He's a very underrated player. He has great ideas, chops and musicality and is an funny guy too. I always get new things to work on after watching him. I was glad we could get him for that clinic, since everyone enjoyed it so much.

Seems like a very personable guy...I remember the audio clip you posted a while back Randy when Todd was in his drum room with you messing around. That was fun...you guys seems to be having fun.
Indeed, Todd is a very personable and gracious person. For the record, that audio sample was actually from a day where it was Todd, myself at Troy Luckettas place messin around and Troy went out the control room and hit record.

Troy moved to AZ about 6 years ago.
Lives about 20 minutes from me, moved his studio too and basically turned most of his house into the studio.
Troy is a really nice guy. I have been doing some work for him on and off now, between video and audio.
