I dug out their album Neo Wave at the weekend and had forgotten how good it is. Not strictly glam but some great songs. Not sure if anyone else here would be into them.

Damn I remember that album! It was great stuff!
By the way, the album I used to have was also Neo Wave. Excellent Bubblegum Pop.
Also, for anyone who hasn't heard them...
SILVER SUN WEBSITE
I missed out on them first time round but got their last album Disappear Here last year. A great album, huge hooks and some fantastic choruses!
Spooky, I was listening to 'Lava' on the way to work today. Cool band to jump around to and get your blood pumping in the morning.
Cool find on the website Andii. Remember seeing them on TFI Friday which is what kinda got me into them. Not often I buy a CD on one listen to a song but in that case I did.
I still listen to the first album "silversun" on a regular basic,
Pop Punk at its best

The bass player Richard Kane was the guitarist in my last band Peach. 96 time. Left to join Silver Sun, the bastard! Great guy and shit hot musician all around. Got some demos we did togther too. Nowhere City bass player Giles Stevens was in the band too. Jesus they rae coming out the woodwork
Great version of the Johnny Mahttis / Denise Williams track Too much too little to late.
Was lucky enough to see Silver Sun (when they still called merely Sun!) at places like the Dublin Castle, Water Rats and the Monarch in mid-96. The albums captured them really well - didn't think they'd pull it off, but I guess Nigel Godrich has proved since that he knows what he's doing behind a recording desk. A genuine shame they never quite broke through. Richard was (and probably still is) indeed a nice bloke; I think he had something to do with Elastica as well.
Mate, you still lurk around Camden?
On occasions - spent far too many nights there between 96-99. Still go there for gigs when something crops up. Is that your neighbourhood?
I'm always hanging around at clubs 'n gigs up there. Just finished a 3-night stint. Time to go home today though.
Yeah great band. Have the album Neon.. and singles with extra b-sides from the era. I've got a Sun! single also.
I also have a camcorder vid of an acoustic gig they did in a local record store. Great guys from memory. They were also the 1st band that my sun saw at the age of about 3. He loved seeing them at the time, but somewhere along the line his musical tastes changed for the worst.
ya just reminded me again Mr Hunter, talkin of demo's....
Yeah .. im inclined to agree with you all, Silver Sun are a fine band indeed, i listen to the first album a lot, and used to cover the Last day track many years ago. And Mr Hunter was right on the money with " Great version of the Johnny Mahttis / Denise Williams track Too much too little to late.." wicked track .. altho the Rush cover of Xanadu im not into.
Can you post up the link to their website anyone .. Sweeeeeeet
M-Sixx
Their official site seems to have expired.
Used to be http://www.silver-sun.co.uk/ but little point clicking on it as it goes nowhere...
They recently did a reunion gig (what the fuck is the matter with everyone?) at the garage.
Talking of demos Mr Andy, I aint forgot one jot old boy. For some reason I am having trouble putting disc onto PC? It happened before but then went right. Not over-tech minded, me. More inclinde to yell and kick than surf around the MS help desk. Bare with me. It will be worth the wait.
Oh shit yeah, the link no longer works. Weird as it was the other day lol.
The power's off in wales. Someone has give Horlicks to the donkey again.
Hey no problem Mr Hunter.
Your mail box is full mate. i just tired to mail you the unexpurgated uriah heep story as Buttz decided that criminal prosecution was likely by posting the full magnitude of events.

That link was working two days ago - we must have exceeded their bandwidth with Andii's link LOL.
