love the first CD, dissapointed by "warped"
With D'Molls...
I had heard so much hype about them that when I finally got both of their cds and stuck them into my stereo...I was very disappointed.
I was happy that they were cdr copies from a trade...and after realizing that...I felt better that I didn't spend money on the actual cds.
I HATED their first album when I heard it the VERY first time
I have grown to really like it after all these years though. it took about 14 years for me to like it as much as I do now!
I also think they were overrated.
Some kinda Lep Zepp type glam that didn't really do it for me.
I have both of their albums and like 777 (a bit) + All I Want (A lot) from the first record... the rest I'm not so keen on.
On the second album I only liked the ballads.
Well I am a big D'Molls fan but mostly because of the first album. As you know I interviewed Billy McCarthy (Dior) recently and he prefrred their 2nd album which came as a suprise. They are one of the few live bands I have who I can definately say sound(ed) very like their studio stuff.
...eh...not impressed at all. I heard the first, moved on. Then I got the second in a discount bin, and have listened to it maybe three times. Just very boring.
strange, D'molls was the exact opposite for me, I loved the first album when it came out, loved the image...then it all goes down hill
-the video 777, not a very good song choice, but not that big a deal
- Live Show, not very good,
and who is that in the picture of SS in the CD, not the fat guy on stage ( a lil harsh), if you're out there SS, sorry
- Final Straw, the "Warped" album, not the D'molls I liked

I agree with Marc about 777 & Billy Squirs The Stroke. Was a little disappointed when I got my hands on the D'Molls 1st cd but it has grown on me now. Out of that & Warped I prefer Warped myself
I never liked D'Molls, crap image and Warped was awful. First album had 1 or 2 decent songs on it , but that's it.
Yeah I agree with you all. Especially that I think "All I want" was BY FAR their best song. Except for that hilarious vocalist talking to guitar crescendo. "Now talk Dirty!!!!!!" What drugs were they on I wonder?
It was the 1980's Los Angeles,
so most likely lot's of "COCAINE" !!!!
* this message is in no way based in fact, i just thought i would exploit one of the entertainment industries biggest stereotypes...
Oh by the way....hear D'Molls song 777 and then hear Billy Squier's classic song THE STROKE....Hmmmm...same song indeed.
Scotty is still one of the best guitar players both with D'Molls and Diamond Rexx. Together with Tracii Guns, the guitar player who makes me feel more with their playin'. Song "D'Stroll" has one of the best guitar solos ever and ballad "This Time It's Love" it's still the best ballad I've ever heard.
