1- In the original "Night of the living dead", only dead people were attacking, there was nothing about bitting and turning, right ?
2- If you act as a Zombie, will they attack you (Like shawn of dead) or they sense that you are dead so you ar Ok ??
3- Do they most likely move in groups ?
And regarding the last point, it will be SO easy to make them follow you to a hangar to burned them all, or to a narrow place where they can be disposed like cattle....

The phenomenon was just starting, so most people hadn't yet figured out how 'zombiism' is spread.

Given the comedic circumstances of Shawn, I don't know if that scene could be counted as canon. I believe it is something that Romero should've explored somewhere in his films... or at least subtely touched upon. Perhaps during one of Logan's studies in the immensely informational Day of the Dead.

i thought that scene in shaun was just stupid, it is clear that the zombies can sense the living from the dead. thats why they were attracted to the mall, theres no way in hell they could've heard the people in the mall from outside like you suggested with the hammering of the house.
Yeah, I thought about it again last night before falling asleep, and that scene is completely bogus.
But as for the dead flocking to the mall- it was explained pretty clearly in the film itself. And it makes total sense.

-"Memory, some kind of instinct. This was an important place in their lives..."
The dead still retain some memory of their former lives.
They remember that's what they use to do. And that's why they're returning to do a little shopping.
Logan said it best in Day.
"They ARE us. They are the extension of us... It's some kind of deep, dark primordial instinct."
Different vision may also be another explanation for why the dead were mesmerized by the fireworks exploding in the sky in Land of the Dead.
Well, at least until- ...just watch the movie.
Plus, in Night of the Living Dead, Karen Cooper, the little girl, is bitten, and returns back to life as a zombie. "I hurt".
I think that scene in Shaun of the Dead was hilarious. Of course it is goofy, it is supposed to be. In case anyone forgot to notice, it is a comedy, not a serious zombie film. [img]wink.gif[/img]

well i certainly wouldn't want to be stuck somewhere in the open with a zombie horde, but i wouldn't mind a nice stuck in a mall situation or something where i'd be safe, and have plenty of food/entertainment and the like

The Sheriff states they found a few trying to break into a shed, they dispatched them but found nothing in the shed no one living or dead...That doesn't indicate to me an inate sense of the living...Memory on the other hand seems more likely.Quote:

well i'm not arguing that they clearly keep some of their humanity when they change, but i think it's crazy to think they aren't "drawn" to the living by more then just site and sound, the sheer number that get drawn to the living points to that. if it was just a handful here and there then sure, the "they heard the humans" argument could make sense, but for hundreds or thousands to be attracted to an area that has living says to me that they can tell where the live flesh is

Oh, definitely the zombies can 'sense' where the living are. I didn't mean to sound like I was trying to argue otherwise.
And more often than not, zombies will settle in a once heavily populated area after it is ravaged looking because of them looking for living flesh.
It seems like it's the opposite for desolate country-side, etc. That's why Riley wanted to go to the Canadian wilderness in Land of the Dead.

At least Land contained a certain amount of social and political satire and commentary, just like its two predecessors.
That arrogant remake of Dawn didn't come close to anything like that.
