Can someone tell me what a reasonable price range for the triple T-well pots might be? I'm bidding on the set on ebay right now, but I really don't know how much I can expect to reasonably pay (and given my current passions, could end up paying wayyyyy too much!!). Thank you!!
p.s. I did a search on this topic and couldn't find anything
I bought mine in 2 different auctions and paid $89.00 plus shipping.... that seemed to be the going rate at the time... (about 5 weeks ago)...

That sounds like a good price. This auction is up to $100 now, which is approaching the price I paid for the stove!! I don't use ebay much, and I'm just so suspicious of the owner bidding up the price. The person winning this auction, as well as the one for the two pot auction, is the same person. The winning bidder's name has been registered for 3+ years, yet they have never made a purchase or won an auction??? This causes me to raise a brow you know?

Well, I've been watching the ebay Chambers market pretty closely for the last 8 months or so, and I think that any triple pot below $100 is a good deal. The doubles go for a good bit more as they seem less common. Double boiler inserts have been pretty consistently between $40-50.
It seems like the prices get quite high for short periods, and then they come back down again. I've seen triples go for over $150, and doubles go for more yet. It all depends on the bidders, but doesn't nec. reflect the quality of the pots at all. That part always seems odd to me.

Thanks Jenn. It makes me feel more comfortable bidding knowing some approximation of price range, and since I hadn't been watching for these items before I had no idea. Of course, my husband is gently suggesting I wait until we get the stove put back together before putting the pot before the stove and all...
Please explain why you would believe the bidder since you suspected him of helping the seller jack up the prices. Am I missing something?
if you think you have a legit suspicion report them.. No harm done if there is no pattern. Sounds like you might have a pattern though.

T pots regualrly retail for 140.00 (Hughs Place, LA) and I saw doubles go for 200.00 a couple months ago. Under 100- is definately a good price. I did this by buying two of three and later gettting one when one came up.

Well, I think I was rash in voicing my suspicion I guess. I've wondered how the ebay community could be protected from such a thing happening - friends tag-team bidding, etc. I have only bought one thing in the past 12 months, and here I am bidding on something... It's entirely possible that's the case with this bidder too, is what I'm thinking. I could be wrong of course, but my initial suspicion was grounded only on the fact that the person winning the auction hadn't purchased anything from ebay in a year.

Traumensie, you weren't being rash - that type of thing does happen on e-Bay. I caught some guy at it red-handed. He had a Model C for sale not far from me. The bidding wasn't going well, so at the last minute a "mystery bidder" jumped in and won the auction. Right after that the stove showed up on Craiglist list, with the same picture as the e-Bay listing, sold by the same guy (I had e-mailed the other guy so I recognized the name and addr.)
So, yes, it does happen. One should always use caution on e-Bay and be prepared to stop bidding when something doesn't feel right.

I think that sort of stuff, bidding the item up, happens on eBay... just like a real auction... I purchased my triple pot on 2 different auctions... paid $21 for 1/3 and $68 for the remaining 2/3's. Of course I had to pay double for shipping, but feel like I was right in line with the price... Now that I hear they go for $100 and up... YAHOO!! I finally got a good deal.... Happy, happy, happy....
