Never On Sunday/Stars Underground

Blimey i must be old then. I 1st got into Glam during the 1970's! I remember seeing all the old Glam bands, Sweet, Slade, Glitter, Quatro, Mud,T-Rex etc on Top of the Pops. The 1st live band I saw though was Slade during about 1978.My interested with these glam bands were put on hold a little from about 77 or 78 with the Punk and New Wave bands, and my interest in NWOBHM bands. Then along came Twisted Sister and Hanoi Rocks during the 80's and the world found a pathway for me in music. By the time I discovered Wrathchild about 1983 my mind was made up which music to follow. All the other bands followed for me. The more Glam / Sleaze bands I got into, the bigger the hair got and the more the make-up piled on.
I don't need to justify myself to anyone.

Started going to gigs in 1988, when I was 17. Was more into mainstream hard rock at that time (Bon Jovi, Crue, Whitesnake, White Lion), but my first 'glam' albums were Poison's 'Look What The Cat Dragged In' and Tigertailz's 'Young And Crazy'.
Used to spend most of my weekends down london checking out the great scence mid to late 80's & the early 90's. so many good gigs ,boozers etc.. Ohhh hang on I got that all wrong according to my mate sick I've only been into this scene 3 years & this week I must go buy myself some original cds LMAO
Those times were great in London, Ian. And the last 2-3 years has seen something of a revival down here. Maybe it never actually went away, but I do admit to falling out-of-touch until I discovered this place late in 2002.

I found Glam in 1983 or so, first band of the "Glam style" was in 1987 or so. First "Glam" albums bought were T-Rex "Electric Warrior", "The Slider", Hanoi Rocks "Back To Mystery City" and later "Two Steps From The Move", Lords Of The New Church (the first self-titled), and NY Dolls (the old "best of" styled thing, which name escapes me). I was also in the Punk scene, so whereas I dressed somewhat "Punk" at the time, I also wore eyeliner and wore more jewelry than all of my Punk friends. I later got tired of the "closed-minded" attitudes of many of the Punks I knew, so I left that whole world.
I've hung out with bands such as Dogs D'Amour oin their one US tour, and Stiv Bators more of less saved my ass from a severe beating. I never became a "star", but I've been in it for years.
Next? What is your history with our beloved style of tunez? (oh my...I used a "Z"!!!)
Carl, that Dolls comp must have been "Night of the Living Dolls," which was released in the mid-1980s. It had the only LP release of their cover of "Great Big Kiss."

That's what I was going to post, so you are right about the title Jay! Thanks for confirming. Being about 200 miles from home right now makes checking the title a bit hard. Plus being on a strange computer and all, and not wanting to bounce around the 'net on somebody elses stuff...ya know.
