I'm all excited. After waiting weeks and weeks, I just bought another stove. I got impatient about waiting for a yellow stove or yellow panels to show up somewhere.
With help from RobbiQuest in figuring out just what the color looked like, I decided to go for a lovely 90C in pastel green. It's in great shape, was used up until very recently, and best of all - its porcelain is in beautiful shape. PLUS, it was already moved out of the house where it had spent the last 50+ years well before any of the auction photos were taken, so, unlike my last stove, what I bought is what I should be getting.
Still not sure what I'll do with the yellow 60C I already have, but I'll figure it out. It was a valuable learning experience. I learned what questions I needed to ask, and how to move a Chambers. Good skills, at the very least.
Can't wait to go pick up my "new" greenie. A mere 4-5 hour drive and back, and then I can finally get to work. Super cool.

Why did you say and taller too? When we moved our chambers in our "new house in process" we knew we were going to be moving is several more times for sheet rocking and kitchen design etc. So we left it on the piano dolly because of the impressive weight.
I got so used to cooking at the new height, which is about 40 in. that when we built the kitchen in 'a-la Home Depot' we left it secured on the piano dolly and built that part of the counter to same height...V

Congrats on your new "greenie". I know how dissapointed you were with the outcome of your yellow stove. I'm glad you found your new gem. Are you still going to call her Miss Daisy?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I will still keep the name Miss Daisy, simply because I like it. I named my first stove after Jessica Tandy's character in Driving Miss Daisy. She had a beautiful white Chambers 90C in the movie. Jessica Tandy just grew more beautiful as she aged, and I think these stoves have, too. Unless I find out something really interesting about the new stove's history, Miss Daisy she will be.
I said she got taller because my first stove was a lowback 60C, and the new one is a highback 90C.
I found her on eBay (again). I know what you're thinking already... here we go again, but this was a far more deliberate decision than when I bought the yellow version. I had lots of questions for the seller that I wouldn't have even known to ask if I hadn't been through this once already. Plus I had a coach this time.
Tura helped me out TONS by finding me a color match. I was able to go to Lowe's, get a bunch of chips, and then plaster them all over my current stove so I could decide if pastel green suited me. It did - really cheerful and fun. I also forwarded all the extra photos from the seller to her, in case there was a visible problem I was missing. It looked great to me, and Tura said it looked like a "beauty." So, I feel pretty good about this stove.
Her auction # is 7574697724. She was lurking behind a photo that made her look more white than green. I'd like to get her home soon, although with the holiday coming up, that may be difficult.

She looks beautiful! The chambers green is a nice color. I've seen them up close at tag sales. Yours looks like it's in great condition. I can't wait for you to finally have her in your home.

How do you run into so many stoves at tag sales? I had never seen a Chambers in my life until this year, and the first one I ever saw in person was the yellow one I bought!

There are alot of stoves in the NY,LI,Westchester area. When developers were building new homes in communities they used chambers products as a selling point. The stove that I bought was original to the house and actually hooked up to the main gas line of the house.( pipe ran from the kitchen down into the basement) The plumber that I hired was not happy, he thought he had a nice easy job. 15 minutes turned into an hour trying to find out how the piping ran. I hired this guy because he has a chambers stove too and I thought he would be sympathetic to my cause...not the case. Let's just say I won't ever use him again.

We brought our "new" stove home early Saturday monring, and I'm really excited about her.
She is lovely, and what a beautiful color! I spent all day yesterday cleaning her up and making her shine. Hopefully tonight I will be rewiring her lamp and switching it to the new back panel. It still works, and the clips are quite intact, which is nice.
Tomorrow I'll be moving on to the next level - converting to propane (this stove has differrent mixing caps than the yellow one), getting propane installed in the house, and ordering parts for a safety system.
I've decided that I'm not going the full restoration route with this stove yet. After all the waiting I've done, I just want to start cooking! I think I'll restore the yellow stove after all, once it gets warm outside. It will be good practice for my greenie. Plus, I'll have a nice backup stove to use while I pull the green one apart! Maybe someday, I'll put both in a new kitchen. Meanwhile, this is so much more fun than waiting for yellow panels to show up somewhere!

Jenn, I am SO GLAD you like the color! I am finally able to let out my breath - I've been holding it since December!!
For those who aren't familiar with the story, here's how this 'Board was able to help advise Jenn on the color: Jenn asked me if the Model C green is the same as the Model B, since she knew I had some green B panels in my garage. I didn't know, so I e-mailed Warren Roche (also a 'Board member), who has a green C at his house. He lives about 2.5 hours north of me, and bought my Model B green oven door panel several weeks prior. He confirmed they were the same green, so then I went to Lowe's (mega hardware store) and got lots of paint chip samples. I found one that was a near perfect match to the green panel in the garage, so e-mailed that name to Jenn in New York. She then went to Lowe's near her home in New York and found the same sample and took it home to see what it would look like in her kitchen. Not bad for a trans-continental effort!
The only downside to the story is that poor Warren dropped the oven panel when he went to compare it to the stove and chipped the panel. (oh, man!!) So if anyone knows of a green oven door panel, Warren could use it.

Thanks for all the good wishes everybody. My saga is probably getting old, but I'm finally on my way!!
Tura, the color is even nicer than I had hoped, and I thought the paint chips were pretty! It is lighter than I expected, simply because the paint chips are matte, and the porcelain is glossy and reflects light. I really like it. Thanks again.
As for Warren's poor stove, if he doesn't mind the shipping, Paul at Central Range in Bayside, NY actually split up a whole set of green panels to sell me my backsplash. His number is 718-776-4800.
