.... Anyone else going to the Ginger gig on 27th January?
We are staying over in London after the gig. Where is good to go on the Saturday night as we may venture out to a club. Gonna do some touristy stuff during Saturday daytime.

"Decadance" in Wardour Street is a good club, even though I've not been to the new location at St. Moritiz (Yes I've probably spelt it wrong).
So who do we think'll be in Ginger's band? Rich Battersby on drums, Jon Poole bass? Willie Dowling guitar, Keyboard? I'd like to see either Conny Bloom or Dregen on guitar. We live in hope!!!

Are he and Dregen still friends? I seem to remember them having a bit of a "falling out" back when Backyard did the "Making Enemies" album due to them using a Ginger song and not giving him proper credit or something.

As Arm said, Decadence at the St. Moritz club on Wardour St is the only place worth going. It's a pokey little hole, and fills up pretty quick after the Intrepid Fox clears out. I don't know of the 'extended hours' situation at the Fox, so maybe it takes longer to get going these days.

St Moritz club opens at 10.30, so you'll need to get there pronto after the gig. ?6 entry without flyer (?5 with) and it's open till 3.30am. The club doorway is next to the St Moritz Swiss Restaurant, on the opposite side of the road to the Ship Inn. Be prepared to pay at least ?3.20 a pint. Shuff and Belle are resident DJ's though, so music is usually top-notch.

I won't be around that weekend, as I'm saving my pennies for Butch Walker on 31st.

Not into Ginger much myself. But may go 2 Decadenz that Saturday, but depends on how I'm working, don't have a rota yet for that weekend...

Ginger's Garage Show is now Sold Out!
He's got a full tour coming up for March. Still no news as to who wil be in his band. If their doing a full tour, I would count Willie out of the line-up. He don't venture out of London/ France these days.... But I could be wrong. Ginger did state that his favourite muso's to play with were the guys from the Marquee gig for his 40th so there could be some clues there???!?

Dunno if we'll make it to St Moritz?!!? Won't be there on the friday as there is music on after the gig at the Garage. Could be in the Intrepid Fox (think it's called) on Saturday night though.

Decadence at St Moritz is Saturday, not Friday, and it's where people go after Intrepid Fox.

Anyone know how far the The Garage is from Kings Cross?
Is there any where in advance that a cheap 3 day pass can be bought for the tube? Tryin to work out the cheapest way of getting around, as we're in London for 1/2 a day on the friday and will only probably go to the Hotel in Kings Cross and then to the gig, hang around near the Garage for food etc before returning to Hotel. The saturday w'll probably use the tube all day. And on the Sunday we only have a half day before returning home. Sorry for going on. How much is a 1way or a return ticket on the tube these days?

You can buy a weekend travelcard at any tube station. King's Cross and Highbury & Islington tube stations are both on the Victoria Line, only a few stops.

To be honest, if you're only making a couple of journeys on Friday and Sunday, you'd be better off just using the bus for single trips. But if you're gonna be all over the place on Saturday then the tube is quicker and a 1 day travelcard would let you get around anywhere on bus or tube.

Actually, Highbury is 1 stop from Kings Cross, and the Garage is just left and across the road from the station.

Not so much, these days. Not like the old days of Shades on St Annes Court.

You could try Reckless Records on Berwick Street, but I think thats mainly dancey stuff. Check them out;

Have ya heard of a 2 day weekend ticket which costs ?5.80? No details of it on the Underground site.

Not sure. I try not to use the tube. I have an Oyster pre-pay card and mainly use buses when I'm up there. I'll have a look though, if you like.

Also, remember fares have just gone up.

Oyster is best for regular users, but no point for infrequent visitors.

Actually my wife was saying the other day that she really wants to get to Norway someday. I told her I had to get to London somday. One of my buddies years ago did a stint over there where he traversed much of Europe over a 2-3 week time. So who knows, maybe we will do a combo and hit a few spots in that part of the world. A week in London, then head on out and spend time in Norway/Sweden. Having never set foot over there, I have no idea how "do-able" it would be.

No problem. Scandinavia is easily 'do-able' from the UK, and vice-versa.

Latest news on the Wildhearts site for Fridays gig....
Ginger is to play a one-off gig at the Highbury Garage on 27th January 2006 under the moniker 'Ginger and the Sonic Circus". Make sure to be there early, doors are at 7, the support is 'unmissable' and the show finishes by 10:30 due to an early curfew.
Anyone know who the support band is or who is in Sonic Circus?????
