I am still moving stuff between properties, it was harder than expected....
My breakfast in front of me it's a Pepto-Bismol three days straight. Don't know if this was caused by the xmas food or the pressure...

unrelated note, I FINALLY started reading Wolves of the Calla, from Stephen King.
the 5th book in the Dark Tower series.
Kate's folks sent us the last 3 books in the line.
can't wait to see how it all turns out.
morning all.... oh i hate moving!!! i dread the day we buy a house and move... don't get me wrong i can't wait to do so but the moving part sucks so damn bad!!
The electric company keeps pushing the day they will install the meter on the new property....
I better clean the generator and buy some gas just to be safe....
Changing phone numbers, updating contracts for the cable, water and electricity is a nightmare here....

Since November I've been face down in Roger Zelazny's "The Great Book of Amber". It's a chronicle of all ten books from his Amber series. Talk about power reading, I'm mid-way thru book 9. I haven't made a robot or anything since I've started it. [img]eek.gif[/img]

Sunday and Monday I read through "Days of Infamy" by Harry Turtledove. He's an alternate history writer. It about what might have happened if the Japanese Army joined with their Navy in the attack on Pearl Harbour, taking control of Hawaii.
Now I have to decide on whether to grab the second book in the series in hardcover, or wait for the paperback. [img]graemlins/whatever.gif[/img]

yes, moving sucks. especially when you buy your first house, move in and set everything up...then you leave only a year later to move to another house [img]eek.gif[/img] Hope I never have to do that again...
munk, what's the story behind that?
We bought our first house a year and a half ago - it was an end unit condo in a private neighborhood. Everything was great for the first 8 months or so...nice community, plenty of room and privacy...we were planning to stay there indefinitely. Then towards the end of the first year, we discovered that the unit next to ours was a rental. The old renters moved out and the renters from hell moved in. All they did was make noise 24/7...blasting music, blasting the TV, slamming doors, screaming fights inside, screaming fights outside. We talked to the people about it and that did no good. We went to our condo association and they wouldn't get involved. Finally we went to the police, but it didn't do much good. So we said fuck condo life and we moved out and bought a single family ranch in an entirely new town.
The experience was fucking horrible. And moving again after only a year was an unbelievable headache. It's not something I'll ever go through again, I can tell you that. If something like that ever happens again, I'll fucking kill somebody with my bare hands before I even consider moving [img]mad.gif[/img]

if I had my way, and we had the means, I'd been living in the middle of nowhere.
I'm from a family of 9 (8 boys, 1 girl). Moving has never been a big deal for me. I gots lots o' help. [img]wink.gif[/img]
Okay, I take that back. We help move one of my brothers move last Thanksgiving. He went from a 3rd floor apartment to a 2nd floor condo. It was snowing and he didn't want wet shoes on the new carpet. So we had a crew to carry the stuff to the door and hand it off to a second crew (in socks) to carry it up a narrow carpeted stairway into the condo. You couldn't pass a person on the stairs. What a pain!
