It's just kind of a real bummer that everytime I want to see the very first thread, it, of course, falls under "The Ban-able Offense" thread. I really find it depressing and not a true vision of our friendly board atmosphere.
Just wondering if enough time has now passed over this issue and it can be removed altogether or placed elsewhere?

I think it is in the past. . . maybe replace it with a sticky saying, "Reminder: Child and Family Friendly Atmosphere and Topics Only" or something like that.

Yes, I would enjoy that to. Ecspecially since the affiliation with girls inc. is already over! Thanks again.

Could we replace it with a replacement code sticky?? Please??

I agree - let's put the ban-able offense in the rules, and mods can PM any new perpetrators who are not toeing the line.

I was just thinking the same thing today! How weird. Yes, please replace it. There have been many new members lately and that is not a great welcome. Thank you mods for your diligence in this and for all you do to help make this board great!!!

Part of the problem is a technical one. Until now we moderators have not had access to the rules page. We actually preferred to write it into the rules when we first put it up as a stickey. Over the past few weeks we have been thinking of ways to change that, and we may have a solution.
Another part of the problem was precisely the number of new members. Without making the title a notable, jump-out-at-you one, we ran the risk of having new people miss it altogether, which did happen at least once or twice, even with the strong title.
And even though the issue is technically over, it was so upsetting an issue for people on all sides of the issue that I am confident that it will come up again somehow, unless we keep it visible somehow that that issue is not allowed on this board.
And there are always the one or two people in every group who need to push the envelope on any rule, which I found out when I tried to ask nicely for people to stop discussing it.
So we do need to keep it visible somehow, but we are working on a different way to do that.

Well, seeing how Joy so kindly deleated my post about this topic I will need to go from memory until she replaces it......
I agree that the Ican bracelet is a closed on on HB. Almost everyone knows it and anyone who comes in posting about it the membership can KINDLY inform them that we no longer discuss that allifiation.
As to making the "Sticky" about the replacement codes I say no. Anyone is welcome to visit my page about the codes. We...HB membership, requested someone to have it online so that we didn't have to clutter the first page of HB with stickies, a few years ago. I am sure we all can agree that it is far more pleasant to read threads and not a bunch of rules and other items we don't use everytime we log on.
Anyone is welcome to bookmark my site for the codes. Jenn did tell me she was taking the information to place here on HB. I did mention that anyone is welcome to send them to me for updates. Since that was the original intention I saw no problem with it's still being used and advertized here. If you look in the web pages thread the replacement code index is listed there as one of my sites. I am glad so many of you have enjoyed using it and I appreciate the new code information. It is a great thing for all collectors to enjoy. I do my best to update it when new items are emailed to me or listed in threads here or on American Girl Enthusiasts. Feel free to PM me on either board and we can keep it as up to date as possible.
Happy collecting everyone!

Edited by Joy to say that the reason that Sail-Away's post was deleted was that her photos in her signature were inappropriate for our membership, not because of its informational content, in case anyone is wondering. She was asked to change her signature photos to something else, and she has slightly changed the photos, so we will leave them as they are unless we get further requests for change from our members. Excuse me sail-away,
May I note your signature pic isn't particularly appropriate for young children (which we do have on this board) and this is suppose to be a friendly board.
Can you talk to the monitor about your signature pic, please?
I'm not so sure is appropriate for this board.

I just read that Joy edited Sail_away's post. The one with the doll saying "so wrong on so many levels" hasn't been changed/is new.
I second that the picture shouldn't be on this board /posted.
