How many people here have a white bodied Samantha? I have seen Samantha's that look just like the Samantha doll that used to be in the old catalog where each doll had their own two page spread. That doll seems to have a tanner complection and a richer look to her than other Samantha's I have seen (or am I crazy?). Is it just the white bodied Samantha's that look like this? I have looked on ebay for one for sooo long and can not find one in mint condition. Has anyone else bought one from ebay? If so how long did you have to wait to find one? This is the last historical doll I need and the newer Samantha's do not appeal to me at all in compairison. If possible could you post pictures of the different Sam's.
Thanks
Stephanie

Until recently I had an older Samantha with all the qualities of a white body Sam but she had a pinkish brown cloth body. I currently have a white body Molly and my Sam had the same vinyl color and softness as she does. I have pictures of Samantha in my Kit album. It took me months to get Samantha for a decent price.

I just bought a white bodied Sam on Christmas Day from eBay. I had only been looking for her 1 week before I bid on her; maybe I just lucked out. Also, maybe it was the time of year, because she came with her accessories, and I won her for less than the cost of a new Sam with accessories! The photos on the auction were bad, but I took a chance and bid anyway. When she arrived, she was a hair away from mint! Her hair was still silky soft, and just needed a quick brush! I was ecstatic(sp?)! Here is a pic: Here hair even still has curl, but you can't see well since it is tied back in the photo. I am not sure about her complexion, but she seems about the same as my PM Molly and Kirsten. Her hair is the lighter brown.

I would love a white-bodied Sam or Molly someday, but since I don't use ebay, that would be hard for me to do.

See my albums, especially Sam goes to Chicago. She was a gift to my sister from Santa in 1988.

I have gotten a white bodied Samantha on ebay. I like the lighter hair color and the fuller cheeks. I think they have a softer look to them.

I have one. While I like her, I kind of like the creamy colouring of the newer dolls.

I would love a WB Samantha someday, too. After seeing a WB one, my Samantha just doesn't appeal as much.
If I can get a WB Kirsten, I can get a WB Samantha!

I have a white-bodied Sam bought in the fall of 1986. She does seem to have a tanner complexion than newer dolls but I've wondered if that had to do with her age. She and her sisters have been kept away from direct sunlight and without much temperature variation, so I think that has protected their complexions.
