Bored? Design your own AG doll! **Updated**

So, I was a little bored last night, and thinking about how people do the Dollz (you know, those graphics of dolls they dress) and thought, why not AG?

So I did a couple of basic AG dolls - one with Felicity style hair, one without any hair. If you're bored, design a dress for one of these dolls using PSP, MSPaint, or Adobe and post it up here for us to see! I'm working on an eighties girl right now, but I have to run to class.

Uh actually I did this a while back, and mine has 4 or 5 outfits(including Jess's), the complete hairstyles of all the historicals and LEs, and a simplified non 3d base designed for easier clothes design. :X

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">This is EXACTLY why I was making ALL of them. I planned to put all the variations on skintone, hair etc into a flash program that let even people who can't draw put together the parts to "make" thier own AG

Unfourtantly it takes about 30 minutes to make each outfit (if it doesn't have a pattern, more time for printed dresses) or hairstyle and inbetween chasing around my 3 year old and doign real work , I don't get time very often to make them.

Wow GreyMyst How did you do that? What program would I need my Daughtetr would love to use these as paper dolls. And Maybe it would curb som eof our spending! [img]tongue.gif[/img]

When I finish it, you won't need any program, just a webbrowser. This is a major work in progress. I had planned to finish in August.

You can make your own outfits in MS Paint, photoshop or anything else you happen to have, but I won't lie, it does take lots of practice. I've been at this 10+ years. These are very simple compared to some of what I do but they still take forever.

I should add, I can prioritize any outfit. I'm not going in any certain order now, just whichever one I happen to feel like drawing today [img]wink.gif[/img]

So if you want a specific one that fits my base, let me know and I will do it sooner.

I love both of the designs I have seen so far. You two are talented. I had hoped to do something similar to that, but have never gotten around to playing with the software. I will try to make some outfits, though. You guys are inspiring.

None of it was supposed to see the light of day until late this year/early next year. I mostly posted it as an example of what I had done so far.

Hey GreyMyst, sorry if I stepped on your toes, I didn't realize anyone had done something like this. Certainly hadn't seen that post. Yours are very cute [img]smile.gif[/img] . I especially like the hair.

Mine's pretty basic, as I just whipped it up in an evening for something fun to do. Anyone who has more graphic talent then me is welcome to add hair, shading, whatever. I'm still adding details to my own doll, which I'll share soon.

I also specifically left them clothes-less so people could design their own outfits.

Nah you didn't step on my toes. I was just saying I was doing this on a ginormus scale.

I specifically hadn't posted about it because I didn't know when it would get finished and I didn't want to get nagged about when I was going to finish A,B,C, whatever.

My base is super simple on purpose, so that I can make these outfits as quick as humanly possible. They still take too long, but yah. It's totally symmetrical so that I can also do half an outfit, copy , paste, flip and have a whole.

My eventual goal (rofl we'll see) is to do every AG outfit ever made. I may stop with just historicals and LEs, but I haven't decided.

A Beta is any prerelease program, etc. It means it still has bugs, flaws etc. Not the final product, but a preview that can and usually does have things missing.

Greymist I too am dying to see a little red headed girl with shorter hair like Nellie and freckles.. I cant wait to see her when you get the time... Im hoping AG can make a real looking red head like her... I know they have red headed dolls but none have freckles and hazel eyes... Fair skin, with hazel-green eyes. Not neon like Lissie's, but more hazelish (if you know what I mean) wavy red hair with Nellie's type of bangs, a side part, with freckles. And I think it would be cool if she was from the 50's, with a poodle skirt and a little neck scarf & saddle shoes!

I have all the current paper doll books uncut with all the pages intact. I like reading about the different clothes and accessories.

Maybe after the AGs are perfected the others in the regular paper doll sets can be made too.
