Finally!! She has been desmoked and washed up and looks sooo pretty! The restoration starts on number 10.

Also--I'm going to send her out traveling in a few weeks (I can't wrench her away from dd quite yet, although we can't keep her too long either, if you know what I mean). I still have to get some of her wardrobe and she has NO shoes or socks.
So, I am going to bump up my post on what I'm looking for in hosts. We are still looking for a few.

Yay! Great job on the restoration. I would have been very nervous to dismantle her like you did, but it all ended just beautifully. [img]biggrin.gif[/img] DD jumped when the pic popped up of beheaded Molly. She wasn't expecting that! [img]rolleyes.gif[/img] [img]eek.gif[/img] She loved her in the Route 66 outfit.

I was really scared, too, but now I'm not. It's not that hard. I hope I got her stuffed right, and I hope we have her head on tight, because it did come off when dd was trying to change her clothes!!

I am So glad the baking soda worked for you. So now we know that it takes smoke out of vinyl, cloth and cardboard. Not bad!

I think that she's odorless. [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img] We'll see if it sort of leaches out or not. I know that the seller tried to de-smoke her as well--she had clean hair, and as I said, had probably been left outside to air out, so she didn't smell in the box, but I did notice it in the plastic. So that's what I've been sniffing, and I think she's great!
