Does anyone have these? My dd who is turning 3 at the end of the month REALLY wants Licorice for her birthday. I am trying to decide if this is going to be something we should wait on or not.
Also, I wouldn't want to get the doghouse for Licorice . . . would you choose the play tower? or the carrier?
Are there any "must have" sets to go with these?
Thanks so much - I have looked at Historicals for me and Bitty stuff for the girls (all of their AGOT stuff is made by Nana!) and haven't really looked into these yet. Any advice appreciated!

I do have coconut but I lost her so I will have to get a new one!! I would suggest the play tower it just looks so cool in the actalogs and all. For any items I would say you should get the Licroice's Best friend outfit if you don't have this already!!

I have Coconut and she's great! She's solid and more like a figurine with fur than a stuffed animal. I have the older version without the magnet but she's still alot of fun.
Licorice's eyes bug me, so I've never gotten her.

BTW WALMART has Coconut for $12.76 with $2 shipping!

They used to have Licorice, but she's sold out

I have both Licorice and Coconut. They are really cute. I agree with GreyMyst, they are more like a figurine with a lot of fur then a stuffed animal. I would recomend the play tower because my cousin has the travel carrier and she is always upset that both Coconut and Licorice can't fit in them.

My now 5 year old dd has had licorice since she first came out and she is one of her favorite things...she has been begging for the the play tower since she saw the catalog a few weeks ago.
I will say that ol licorice is kinda like a timex...she has taken a beating and keeps on ticking..or purring or something like that. She gets lots of serious play time and I am a little worried that her tail might be coming a little loose. DD wraps licorices tail around the handle of the little red doll wagon with marisol in it and licorice just flys all over the house pulling that wagon around!!
I bet your little one will love her... I know mine does!

Coconut is cute (don't have Licorice), but the accessories are great, and a neat way to get into AGs!! Several of the accessories are on sale this month. You can use all the sets with Coconut or Licorice. I don't think she's too young. Get whichever one she'd prefer.

I have both-and I love them. My dad actually has a Coconut-he doesn't know its from AG though. He has a westie-Cali, just like Coconut. My hubby for Christmas got me Licorice and Coconut-because we also have a black cat that looks like Licorice.

I have the original coconut without the magnet and then the newer one with the magnet. Apperantly there is a newest one again without the magnet? I have licorice as well. The figurine's with fur is a very accurate description. If your DD does not have a doll or bitty baby yet this would be a great way to start them in on pleasant company. They are much cheaper for starters, and you can elaborate on their collections for a much lesser price. I had never thought of it before but it would be a coll collection of just coconut and licorice and accessories. I think the age would be ok and if not they aren't nearly as expensive as a doll so thorough loving wouldnt be a problem or waste of money. They are real cuties let me know what you decide!

We have both Coconut and Licorice...they both hold up pretty well to bumps and bruises...lol...
But I don't recommend their small, tiny accessories to kids under 3/4...
So, I would put their accessories away til she is older...and yes...the Licorice Play Tower looks to be a good purchase...Coconut and Licorice would have lots o fun on that!!

I don't have either one, but have seen them both in stores like Borders.
I think they're both pretty blah. Coconut is cute enough, and if they ever make a set I HAVE to have, I'll be fine getting Coconut.
Licorice, on the other hand, I don't know what real cat AG was modeling her after, because those eyes are SCARY. They're not just ugly, they're mesmerizing, huge and STARING at you. I thought I'd find her cuter in person, and really I didn't.
I'd suggest looking for them in an actual store to see if you like them before buying them anywhere. The closest Borders to me always seems to have both, and the B&N often does, too.
Accessory wise, I'd suggest to wait until they go on sale and then pick them up, the $14ish they go for is an awful lot for an outfit for a doll's pet, , (and Im sure most of us get more than enough flak for $20-$30 on an outfit for a doll!), but $5-$8 doesn't seem so bad.

OH...does anyone know if the wal-mart Licorice and Coconut have the magnets?????????

I think liccorice is horrible! I have both Co and Lic, and Lic just looks so terribly fake to me, that I put her away in my closet the first day I got her. Co on the other hand, almost looks like a real little pup.
So I wouldn't recommend Lic at all.....

I have Licorice and I really like her.
She's really sweet.

My DD has both Coconut and Licorice. They are cute while wearing their accessories. They also have magnets in their mouths to hold their toys but they are not very strong magnets. I would suggest getting Coconut and buying the kitty costume for her if your daughter likes cats or if you own a cat because Coconut is, in my opinion, cuter than Licorice and she has more accessories. A must have accessory is Coconut's spa accessories because there are lots of things to play with in this set and it is very adorable. I would also buy the carrier so she could keep her accessories in it and carry her around without losing everything.
