I got this catalog in the mail today. It's a really pretty translucent plasticy paper over the regular cover.

The last catalog I got was the January one....AND I JUST GOT THIS ONE THIS WEEK!! I don't know what's going on with AG but they won't send me a catalog any more.

This is so odd, AGPLA WILL be opening on April 20th as originally stated, the information on the catalogue cover is incorrect. I saw the date on the picture and had my mom call the AGP # and the woman my mom spoke to confirmed that it WILL be opening on April 20th, they haven't gotten around to changing the ad with the correct information as of yet.
It's an expensive looking ad, you think they'd want to be 100% sure it was right!

Ooo, I love the red vellum cover! I always save the issues that have the vellum cover. It seems like one vellum-covered catalog arrives each spring. I wonder if I'll get the AGPLA issue though since I live so far away. Yay for all you folks who live close enough to go to the new store! That's the same catalog I got last week, but w/o the red cover.

Many times retail stores do a "soft opening" before the Grand Opening. It enables the employees to get the hang of handling customers before they are really crowded.
We recently experienced this when Cabelas opened in our area. My DH and sons were ready to go the day it opened (in May) but the Grand Opening (which is what was published in the media) was in June. We received excellent service, low crowds, and the employees were excited to finally be open! It is actually a great time to visit a new store if you can find out about it!!
Anyway, this would explain why you could go on April 20th even though the GRAND Opening is a few days later.

And this week at AGPNY they already had shopping bags that said "New York - Chicago - Los Angeles"
