Yesterday was a very bad day for me. I have a real medical phobia but i was feeling so sick that i forced myself to go to the dr. I found out i have a kidney infection. I also broke my front tooth and i have an even greater fear of dentists. When i got home from the dr. i found my mom crying. Our 13 year old dog had suddenly
gotten very sick. She took her to the vet and learned that she had advanced cancer. We had no idea she was so sick. My poor sweet dog had to be put down.
When i went to bed last night i was feeling so sick. It was so hot, no ac, and all the dolls just seemed to be crowding around me. Samantha fell and hit me in the face which added a fat lip to my woes. So i got mad and got a box or garbage bags. I filled 3 big bags and threw them down the steps. Having all of these dolls around just semed so silly and meaningless. The garbage pickup isn't until thursday and right now they're just sitting in the hall. If my other dog smells them she'll chew them up today while i'm at work but i really don't care right now. I don't have the energy to haul them back upstairs anyway. Did you ever feel like this? Like just throwing them all away?
Maybe i'll feel better later.

So sorry you're feeling down. [img]graemlins/broken_heart.gif[/img] I hope you'll feel better soon. Hang in there!

Sorry to hear about all your pain yesterday but please don't throw them away. You'll regret it later and it would be too late.
Everything will work out and we're all here for you. Everyone has bad days. Last Thursday I got a phone call from my mom saying that my grandfather in TN was on life support and they wanted to pull the plug. My parents didn't have the funds to get out there but wanted to go to see him and the DR. wouldn't wait. After being on the phone numerous times with the DR. they were going to try something else and I loaned my mom the money to go and take my dad (it was his dad) and they needed to go. Long story short, the DR. is not pulling the plug now and mom and dad got to be there and are heading home today. Over the weekend, I thought my life was falling apart. Since my grandfather lives so far away, he hasn't gotten to meet his granddaughter except for pictures. I'm hoping he will get better so I can go out soon for them to meet.
Goes to show you how things can change on a dime. One day your having the best day and the next you feel your life is ending.

awwww doesnt it suck that everything bad has to happen in one day?
I total hear ya about throwing dolls away! I feel the need at least 1 a month LOL Just pack them up and put them away for some time and take them out later when you feel better.
hope you do feel better,
Tracy

I am so sorry!!!!! What an awful day!!!!
I know you are feeling just terrible and sad, but I think even though you are upset right now, later you will be wanting your dolls.
I know there are more important things in life than dolls, but please don't throw them away. You will surely regret it later.
I hope things turn around for you [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] !!!

That is a bad day!
I hope you start feeling better soon. I am so sorry to hear about your dog.
PS - Keep the dolls in the bag and put them out of sight somewhere. One day, you will feel better and want to see them again.
-
Don't throw them away! If you just can't stand to be with them right now box or bag them (like you have already done) up and put them away. Odds are you'll want them again some day... and if not... they are an investement that you can resell when/if you really need the money.
We are here for ya!! Don't get discouraged!
-
I've had times that I didn't wish to think about doll things or other hobbies because it seemed so trivia compared to what was on life's platter at the time.
I hope that your place gets cooler and that when you return from work the dolls are alright.
Also I'm very sorry about your beloved dog. I know it must be rough on your mother and you.

I am sorry you are having such a rough time right now. Everyone is right, you will regret throwing them away. Since you don't have the energy to haul them upstairs, just stash them in a room where you can keep the door shut and the dog out. The best part is the dollies won't mind you taking out your frustration on them at all. That's what stuffed friends are for. They will be ready to love you when you decide the time is right. Hang in there!
-
(((HUGS))) I definitely understand what it's like to have one of those days, where nothing seems to go right. I know things will get better, you just have to hang in there. And definitely don't throw your dolls out. I try never to do anything in a rage, because I always regret it later...always! You may just need to put them away for awhile and then pull them out later when you're ready.
-
I know you are having a tough time, but don't throw the dolls away. Last year this time, I was so miserable and broke. I ended up selling Lindsey, #21, Felicity, Nellie, #24, Kailey and Samantha. I later regretted it. I do have Sam, Nellie and Lindsey back, but it took more money. Just put them away till you feel better.

I'm sorry you had such a horrible day. [img]graemlins/broken_heart.gif[/img] I know what it's like to have really terrible days when things seem like they're never going to get better. You should leave your dolls aside--maybe put them into storage for a while--until you feel better. Please don't throw them out, and if anything, you can resell them. I do hope things will improve for you in terms of your health and all. Also, I'm so sorry about the loss of your dog. That must be really devastating.
Wishing you lots of luck...

You have my sympathy! I get down too and it seems like when I am my dolls get the venting, such as not wanting them anymore. But once some time has passed--maybe a few hours or days, I'm ready to go back and play. Eventually you'll be able to take comfort again in your dolls.
I'm sorry about your beloved pet. A similar situation happened with our little poodle. She was such a great memory of my childhood though she faced a lot of discomfort with medical problems. You can take comfort in the fact that your family realized it was time to let your dog go. I really do think it is a hard but a better alternative--it really shows you care about your dog's well-being. Maybe you'll want another dog one day. We weren't going to for at least 2 yrs. thereafter, but a few weeks later we became the owner of an entirely new kind of dog (a now "plump" miniature schnauzer!). We love her just as much, but since she is such a contrast in personality she takes a different part of our hearts rather than replacing our poodle.
Sorry, I rambled on...but my main emphasis is that you WILL smile again and your dolls never stop flashing that trademark grin.
Feel better soon,
Ashley

Very sorry about all the problems you're going through, Wiccacat (and you too, T. Lynn!). Obviously, you should put your dolls somewhere safe if you're bothered by them right now...and if you can't stand them later, you can make a pretty penny selling. Anyway, my thoughts and prayers are with you!
-
I am so sorry for the awful day you have had. I understand how life can make dolls seem like the most unimportant thing. But, please don't get rid of them if you don't have to. Maybe someday soon you can enjoy them again. Until then, my thoughts are with you!

I am soooo very sorry that you had such a harsh day yesterday. I do hope that today was better and you have your girls upstairs safe and sound. Just think of all the joy they bring you.
In case the dolls have not made it upstairs by now, just think of all the $ that is sitting in the trash bags waiting for the dog to chew them. Hmmmm, I would grab the bags and dragggg them upstairs and start going through your dolls the dolls you really would miss should stay and the dolls that you may not want could be sold either here on this board or on ebay or stored under the bed. These dolls don't deserve to be trash.
I have the same thing about dentist. Hate going, but well you know how it goes. Better to go then not. I hope your tooth does not hurt. Wow, how did you break your front tooth? I am guessing they will have to give you a cap.
Hang in there. This heat is truly something else. It alone can be hard on us. Maybe a cool bath and a good night sleep will help. I bet your girls want a hug.
Please take care.

I hope things get better soon. Hang in there!

I'm so sorry that you were having a bad day. I hope you will kep your dolls. Like others have mentioned, I agree that you should maybe hide them for awhile until you are feeling better. Get well soon and feel better!
-
I have been thinking about you all day, as I read your post this morning and I was also having a bad day.
I know in my past when I was really sick and waited to long to go to the Drs. I got really crabby and cranky, it's the infection. But now you are on medication and you will be your old self again.
I am so sorry about your beloved pet, it has to be hard.
I'm sorry your dollies are crowding in around you, when you feel better maybe you can reorganize and just put a couple out and slowly bring them back into your life. But until then just keep them in the bottom of your closet.
Wishes for a happy day tomorrow.

Hi Wiccacat,
Just checking to see if today is looking any better? I hope you have a much better day.

I am sorry for the bad day, trust me been there done that.
Somedays even I just want to pack them all up and get them out the door! Just the other day, I told Jeannie that I was going to sell most of them with the clothes and accessories and buy a new car! HA! And then yesterday, I dressed them all up, took most of the day, but it made me sooo relaxed! Go figure.. guess it goes day by day.
I hope you do not really throw them, just put them away for a short while and see if you start to miss them or not.
I have most of mine in another room, can you believe that last week, I was in a doll downer stage and barely went to see them! OK, Sheila, you can arrest me now.. lol. It just shows you that all of us can feel that way, especially when it comes to bad days.
Hope you feel better my thoughts and prayers to you.

Hang in there! I think you'll change your mind, just wait a while before really just throw them away. Because once there gone there gone. Yes you can buy a new one I suppose, but it'll never be the same. Hope you feal better!
-
I can relate 110%!
A few weeks ago, I was having a really bad day. I was really sick, and since I have a severe phobia of vomiting, it was even worse because I was freaking out. There was no AC in the house either, and I was lying in bed. I looked over at my dolls and they seemed so silly at the moment like you had said. Like there were way other important things I should be worrying about, like my health and stuff. I got up still feeling nauscious and put them in boxes. I felt so much better after doing that...but of course I took them out later. I could never throw away my dollies. And I really hope you do not throw away your dolls either. You will highly regret it later.
Hope ya feel better. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

My prayers to you most definitely! I have had days when I felt the morsels were closing in on me too. I just do other things and get back to them at a later time. They will always be there.
I know you are feeeling bad, but depression does pass. It is best not to make decisions during anger and life's low times. Remember; "a bright/better day is just around the corner" and "there is always light at the end of the tunnel" ...Hold tight! Just sending my thoughts and best wishes here for you. I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet doggy - that is always such a hard thing, expecially when they have been part of your life for so long. That terrible sense of loss always throws everything else off, especially on top of feeling so ill yourself; and I am so sorry for your bad day.
Please put your dolls away without getting rid of them. Give yourself time to get well and to grieve the loss of your beloved dog. You may feel differently about your dolls when you are feeling better. *cross-country hugs*

Thank you for all the help and kind words. My dolls are still in bags but safe from the dog. Yesterday i went to the dentist. I was a rough visit, with fainting and crying, but i got through it and he tried to fill the tooth. It's a huge filling and he might still need to do a root canal if the pain doesn't improve. I have another appointment next week. After all of this i found i really wanted the comfort of a doll last night. I got out one of my ebay girls and tried to rewig her with a purple wig.
This wasn't too bright since the fan was blowing the hair around but it was sort of fun. She's cute now but the wigs a bit crooked and gluey. Luckly i never use much glue and it can be fixed. It helped
to have something to take my mind off my poor little dog. I actually made up 2 plates of food before i realized that i only have 1 dog now.
-
Glad your dolls are safe. I hope your tooth feels better soon. I hate the dentist, too, and I have an appointment next week.

Sorry about all you are going through right now.
I hope you start feeling better real soon.
I know what you mean about your dog. Ours got cancer and had to be put down in a hurry. We missed her soooooo much! They leave a void in your life the same as a human can. We have another one now that oddly enough was born in the same month that our other dog died. We didn't get her until she was about 5 though. Sometimes, some of the things she does reminds me so much of the dog we lost. It's almost like she shares her spirit or something. My point is this....one day in the future it won't hurt as much anymore.
Hope you are feeling better and that you won't have to have root canal on top of everything else.
-
My thoughts and sympathies are with you. I've had a kidney infection before and I know it's awful. I wanted to just crawl into a hole and escape from the world when I had one.
And I feel for you with the loss of your dog. I've lost a few, and it does leave a big void.
I hope your new purple-haired doll is helping you feel better!
Oh, and the dentist... I HATE the dentist. I have such a phobia about it that I literally sweat through all my clothing (ick) and am totally stiff- I end up aching all over from muscle tension. Bringing an IPOD helps, but I blast rock music rather than the nature sounds- it helps drown out the drill, which totally freaks me out. It doesn't seem to matter what dentist I go to- my mouth is sensitive and I am always scared at the dentist.
-
Oh, I hate the dentist SO much too. I had a really bad time when I had to go in to get three wisdom teeth pulled.
I also hate doctors, too! LOL. Sometimes doctor visits terrify me like nothing else!!!
Wiccacat, I hope your tooth will be feeling a lot better, but if not, you know you have our support!
-
Glad you got your dolls out. The same thing happened with our dog--we kept thinking we needed to let her outside until we remembered too. Ah, routine...
Ashley

Glad your dolls are safe. You shouldn't have to go through all that pain and fainting. Can you find another dentist who puts you more at ease?
I am afraid of dentistry also. I usually bring along an ipod with soothing nature sounds when I have a dentist appointment.
