From an official CBS statement:
"The March 25th episode of Jericho will be the series finale. Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more. We thank an engaged and spirited fan base for keeping the show alive this long, and an outstanding team of producers, cast and crew that went through creative hoops to deliver a compelling, high quality second season. We have no regrets bringing the show back for a second try. We listened to our viewers, gave the series an opportunity to grow, and the producers put a great story on the screen. We're proud of everyone's efforts."
Dammit. Maybe they should do a Hawkins spin-off.

Mother fuckers...why do I feel played...damn I am pissed!
-
sorry, I missed this when I posted "Jerico Nuked"

No worries. That's bound to happen when big things happen. Like when they will decide to pass on the final season of Lost and cancel it at the end of 5. Wouldn't surprise me.
I've been disappointed with the cancelation policy of network TV ever since they canceled my beloved Veronica Mars. Bastards. This is why channels like USA are kicking the Big Networks' asses. They do shows like Burn Notice whose basic plot-idea is so lame it would've been axed before the pilot stage - but it works because it's a fun show that doesn't take itself too seriously. (Great show, check out season 2 this summer.) And if the ratings don't immediately soar, they wait it out. Often with positive results.
You know, Lost didn't take off here as well as it did in the US, but ratings picked up during season 2 and season 3 was aired during prime time. The lesson? Patience will pay off from time to time.
But alas, poor Jericho. I knew him well, Horatio.

well that is just crap. I am guessing they will leave us hanging again with some major cliffhanger
-
I am so freakin depressed over this...what asshole thinks Jericho couldn't make it another season? Last nights episode was amazing and I won't say anything more in case you haven't had a chance to watch it yet BUT DAMN IT ALL!!!
I want it back!!!!
-
what pises me off is that on Friday and Saturday evenings...there is nothing worth watching...that would be a great show to put into those slots..
-
I agree with you mom. There is nothing I watch on the weekends at all except PPV movies or something, but no regularly scheduled shows. I watch it Rae. It was gooooooood. Chloe and I were so sad because it is over. Stinks.
-
I am praying another network takes a look at it. Screw CBS!!! I loved watching that radar as Jake got closer to Texas and since I knew there would be no more I was almost convinced the plane was going to get shot down...I jumped for Joy seeing the jets appear in front of them taking out the Cheyenne planes. Also when they were running with the bomb and made it to the Texas Embassy...that show was just really good...Mimi and Stanly professing there commitment was sweet. Beck learning the truth and then sharing it with his men...God I pray they bring it back somehow!!!
-
Me too! Beck is a little hottie! When those jets showed up I told Chloe that one has to love the Texans...if only for that reason. LOL
-
I know!!! I am going to miss that show
-
yeah me too. Maybe I should e-mail the CW channel and beg their case. I think we all should!
-
I think we've passed that point. They tried saving Jericho. They tried saving Journeyman. The only "savethisshow" campaign that's still ongoing is that Moonlight campaign. Which is actually a good one, since it has people donating blood to the Red Cross. And they can never have too much of that stuff. So I would definitely recommend you getting with that campaign - although the show is... well, entertaining. But not that great. But it has a lot of semi-nakedness, which is always good. The plot is also reasonable, it just lacks a certain je ne sais qois...
-
I just cant wait til Saving Grace comes back on. I miss that show and summer cant come soon enough as far as tv viewing goes.....
I cant believe I just typed that. I am officially a tv-aholic
-
Maybe we'll start a club. My name is Robin, and I'm a TV-holic. Hi Robin. And we'll get a blue chip for every month we... don't... watch... *gasp*
*Hyperventilating*
You know, let's not start a club.

From the NY Times:
"For television networks, it is a common quandary: what do you do about a show that critics adore, that has a passionate base of fans, but that consistently gets mediocre ratings?
NBC, for one, thinks it has a creative solution. Last week, it announced a deal with DirecTV, a subscription satellite television service, that would keep ?Friday Night Lights? on the air for a third season. DirecTV will help defray NBC?s production costs and in exchange will receive the right to show ?Friday Night Lights? first.
Television executives say this model could help keep other sentimental favorites on the air. For instance, CBS Paramount Network Television has held talks with Comcast, the cable provider, about finding new life for ?Jericho,? the low-rated drama canceled by CBS last month, according to two people briefed on the talks who requested anonymity."
So there. A glimmer of hope.
-
oh that wouldbe wonderful if that happened!!!!! A slimmer of a glimmer!!
-
SO what happens if you have cable? No Direct TV here.
