Some Beach....
Somewhere
Washington, DC. I'd rather go somewhere where I could learn something and be stimulated in my mind than somewhere like a beach or such.
If I go on a vacation, that means my mind gets one too. I learn enough the rest of the time, vacation is a time to kill brain cells not educate them LOL

Of course the beach is one of my favorite places on earth. I miss living there....especially this time of year. I get butterflies in my stomach when I think about it. I loved getting off work at 11:00 at night and going home, walking straight across the street to the ocean to sit on the sand for hours. It would just be me....alone. I miss that so much....
I love San Diego. Definitely one of my favorite cities and surrounding area. Probably the only place in Cali where I fit in so well with how I look!
Myrtle Beach has been the most common place for myself. Going back with the in-laws in July. I am hoping to do some traveling to different, new places in the next few years. VT, you need to hook me up with some discounts if you can pull them off still.
Although I think the beach would be a nice place to relax on occasion I don't think I'd ever vacation there too terribly much.
Sun + Me = Burns & Cancer Risk (same for Unchained...sun isn't his friend either!)
I would like to see more of the US. I also want to go overseas more.
I don't necessarily care about the sun as much as its just a lot more relaxing for me. I'm kind of partial to VTGals thing of sitting on the beach at night, and I never sleep as well as I do at the beach, have a good ocean breeze blowing in....awww heaven.
Some people think it's weird that I love Myrtle so much and weird that that's where I chose to live for a couple of summers. But, I've been there every single summer, sometimes multiple times since I can remember. I like North Myrtle better and hardly even went South. I worked on Ocean Blvd...and lived a few blocks away on Ocean Blvd. I only had to hit 17 if I really needed to or wanted to (grocery store, Barefoot Landing, etc. right across high-way, CVS/food places was on my side of 17, a few blocks up from my neighborhood). I really could make it my small little community by the ocean....I could make it less busy than what Myrtle usually is.
Stripes, I can't even get discounts for myself! haha.
I loved California while I was out there. Having been born there, I always felt right at home. Never did get to see too much of it except Oceanside, the town outside the base where I was stationed.
I looooove the sun! My mom doesn't like it when it's hot at the beach...I'm the opposite. I want it blazin'. haha. I don't burn, I'm sure I have sun damage....but I'm so comfortable being outside like that for hours. haha. I always had major sunscreen on my face though and most of the time wore a hat. But my routine was wake up, walk to beach, lay/play for hours, work at 3:00. Every day. Even the summer I was taking an online Econ course. Wake up, debate about doing work for the class, walk to beach!
I've only been to San Diego, Santa Monica/LA, and close surrounding areas. I want to visit much more of it though.
I was out there for the big Palm Springs earthquake in '86.....that'll wake you up in the morning.
Ah! No thanks! I'll skip the natural disasters please.
Mudslides, earthquakes, El Nino....I'm glad Virginia is spared from all that.
I like Myrtle myself. Definitely plenty of golf options for me. I also like to do some saltwater fishing. Also, I am so familiar with good seafood restuarants as well. Familliarity can make for a more relaxing vacation. Less fights between me and the misses as to which direction we are going!
I've been to HIlton Head Island a couple times, it's probably my favorite...but any beach is fine...
Also went on a cruise, and that was awesome...I recommend it to anyone...
My favorite overseas vacation: Italy
Most hated overseas vacation: England (argh!!)
Disney World is great - I highly recommend staying on-site though. It can be a great grown-up getaway.
Unchained and I plan to do a bit of traveling when the opportunities arise - visit family, etc.
I liked the beach before I had Kids we went there 3 years ago and I could not get the picture of a riptide or something taking them away in any case there was no way I was going to be doing any relaxing while actualy at the beach. My plan is to go to DC this summerand most likly do the Disney thing next year or mabey the year after....I will do the beach again when the kids are a little older
Disney World is so fun!......in the off-season. When I was in third grade we went I think early March, when we had that huge snow here. It was just starting to snow as we left Va. We got down there it was perfect weather and not a overwhelming crowd either. We went back a couple of years later in the summer and it was hot and the crowds were insane. My poor parents. haha.
I must go to Italy. Italy, Greece, OZ, and NZ are my major list.
You're definitely right. The off-season is awesome!
Last time I was there was the fourth of July (only time off I could get that worked). wow...sooooooooo painfully crowded.
A few years ago I stayed at Boardwalk Villas, and last year was at Port Orleans. I'd stay at either of those again in a heartbeat.
Last year I drove down, and the time before I took the train. The train took the same amount of time but it was much more comfortable (and at the time I had a 4-year-old with me so it was much more convenient).
My Favorite is Destin, Florida. and I love to eat at Fudpucker's. (not Fudruckers this is a seafood place)
Second Orlando, Florida
third Hilton Head Island
Isn't traveling by train nice? I really enjoyed it. My freshman year here, my mom and I took a train to NYC for spring break. We caught it in Richmond. I thought it was an awesome way to travel.
I caught the Amtrak in Mebane, NC where my sister lives (it was her kid that I took - a bit of a revenge story ). She dropped us off and kept my car at her place.
But those seats were pretty much the equivalent of the first-class seats on a plane.
Ok now you're all about to kill me, I'm so needing a beach trip ...mmmmm now
Pound has the nicest beach around
By around, you mean within like 10 miles or so, right?
I would love to go to Ireland and Scotland (highlands)
in the US, South Dakota and FLA for the Disney experience
I would have to say that my ideal vacation spot for this summer is nowhere else but the outer banks in north carolina...

Yes England sucks. The only thing I liked about England was the orginal hard rock cafe and the pubs.
I like to go back to St.Croix. The island wasn't but 26miles long. The water is crystal clear, the people are nice, and the food is awesome.
The second I was there (in 1996) we got hit by a hurricane (bertha). Damn if the didn't suck. Went out the next day and seen boats on land, roofs of houses, and all kinds of other damage. The about week later went to movies there and someone called in a bomb threat so they had to escort the people outside. Crazy time, but it was great.
I would also like to go New Orleans. I think it would be cool to vist there.
There's only one place to vacation:
Hilton Head Island
haha...no way Pound has the best beach there is
The beach is imo the best place to go. I mean come on go there and not really worry about anything relax a lot except when it storms and then it sux.
Destin, Flordia
Panama City Beach is also a pretty nice place.
I wanna go to Oz and see the Wiz, maybe he will hook me up with a brain. It looks like a great place to spend a vacation.
Anywhere out of the country...went to Cozumel, Mexico and The Grand Caymon Islands last summer on a cruise and going this summer for graduation to the Bahamas on a cruise
A beach anywhere laying in a hammock sipping some margaritas or any other cold beverage.
Personally love Beaufort, SC..only 30 minutes back to Hilton Head or Savannah...it's a laid back place with fun (if ya want to party) down the road in Savannah...the only bad thing is ya have to put with Marine recruits who think they are almighty when they get leave from Parris Island...
Also want to go to Orange Lake, FL...My dad just bought a timeshare down there so my family and I can go down there on vacation...lay on the beach and play golf...sounds great to me..
Place to vacation: Myrtle Beach (although I haven't been since I was little) and Pigeon Forge.
Place I want to vacation: Hawaii, Florida, ot Cancun
