Continue to vote Republican
Keep it up, keep it up. I hope you all realize what our country has come to. Say what you want but if these outrageous gas prices dont come down our economy will fall. You can preach to me tax breaks all you want but the cost of health-care, deaths in the war, and these outrageous gas prices overweigh that for me. The religous right put Bush in and we still have abortion and gay marriage, we also still have all of these other problems. When will America wake up? We our destroying ourselves.

Re: Continue to vote Republican
As mad as I am with our government it wouldn't matter if we had a Republican,Democrat or Independent President this would still happen they are all money hungry and could care less about us the taxpaying American people.

TOB FOR PRESIDENT !!!!!!!
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
You can honestly tell me that you think if a Democrat was in office that we would have these similar problems? Honestly, I dont even think you believe that. I have a problem not believing that our president is giving kick backs to his oil buddies.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
The president has no controll over the price of oil per barrell. Watching CNN a week or so back and they were talking about exxon/mobile being worried because their proffits last year were only 500 million.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
As I said in my Earlier post THEY ARE ALL CROOKS no matter what they are they do for themselves and could care less about us...Sometime one day the ones whom don't realize this will...Don't vote for any of them...I believe maybe just maybe 1 out of 100 care about their voters but that maybe pushing it.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
I guess a Democrat could just wave his magic wand and make it all go away?
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
LOL...I cant beleive someone would post something like this. Im as far to the right as they come, but if Ted Kennedy could lower gas prices, I cant say that I wouldnt vote for him
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
Wave a magic wand? No, but I hope you all continue to vote this way and watch our country go down the pipes. Look at America today compared to the Clinton years, you tell me which one was better.

Re: Continue to vote Republican
this is EXACTLY what is wrong with America today. We label our selves as either democratic or repubican and it doesnt matter if Adolf Hilter is running we are still gonna vote for him.
Jesus Christ could be running as a canidate and still some Christians wouldnt vote for him because he wasn't a (democrat/republican).
American has to realize that sometimes parties select weak canidates to lead them, but we can't be so blind to think that just because the party we associate with selects someone that they are the best canidate.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
True, but at least most have some sort of understanding that you need the average American to survive. At this rate our country is going all to hell over revenge and friendships.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
Agreed- but you will notice the number of decisions regarding oil the Family has made while in office? And I don't think it is ALL a squeaking wheel. Whoever is in office is gonna look out for THEIR group that helped them get there. Take the Enron and pension robbery.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
I totally disagree for the most part the candidate follows to the tea what the party tells them. Just look when was the last time a Republican presedential candidate had more than one view that didn't fit the normal mold and vice versa for the Democrats.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
First of all...its not the republicans fault for high gas prices...the democrats are against oil-drilling in Alaska...if we would drill in Alaska...we wouldnt be paying an arm and a leg for a barrel of oil....and yes, I would rather have George Bush in the White House, a man who professes to be a Christian....rather than a man who had an affair in the White House.......When considering on who to vote for....dont ask if they are a democrat or republican...ask how Jesus would vote.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
Trust me, I believe this gas price crisis that's hitting nationwide is going to be the un-doing of the Republicans in the White House and Congress unless genius Karl Rove finds a way to spin it as the Dems fault. There's basically 3 things people always want either kept as is or improved and that's their retirement, their religious representation, or their taxes. Voters want what's in their best interests. I don't think these elevated gas prices are in America's best interests, and they're of a direct result of Katrina (no one's fault) and the war overseas.
What people haven't fully realized yet is that this gas price hike is going to cause a lull in the economy because of the fact that most people travel to spend their disposable income which greases the wheels of a successful economy. With elevated gas prices, either less will be used and people won't travel as much to spend their disposable income to help the economy, or usage will stay the same or increase, then all of our respective disposable incomes will decline, causing less money to be spent to grease the wheels of the economy. This has far more encompassing effects than "It takes me too much to fill up my gas tank".

Re: Continue to vote Republican
And what would Saint Bill do differently in this situation?
There's no difference. Republican, Democrat, Whig, etc. And to think that having a Democrat in office would change anything reveals your ignorance of the situation.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
THEY ARE ALL CROOKS...THEY ARE ALL CROOKS...THEY ARE ALL CROOKS...No matter they care about themselves and not about us...As was said this country goes way to deep in this republican---democrat deal...When are some gonna learn that no matter how you vote your getting taken they Promise you a big hearty T-Bone steak while running then give toy the plain bone with no meat on it after they get the office...It's time we stand against them ALL and I say THEM ALL...Also it's time to bring our men and women home and let those idiots over their take care of themselves...It's time America does for American people and let the rest do for themselves because as you'll see they won't help us like we did them in their times of need.

Re: Continue to vote Republican
IMO that is the number one reason what is wrong with our country. Your christian president is allowing abortion, gay marriage, sodomy, and many other sinful acts under his watch. Let me ask you this question, is it a sin to send troops in to a country that had no real way of endangering us? I'm sorry that I choose the ability to live reasonably over a hope that abortion is stopped. If the republican party would actually stop the things they profess that they will change I would switch party's. As it is they just give Americans false hope over moral issues and scare us to death around election time with terror threats. Funny thing to me the terror threats stopped after the election. I mean between August and Novemeber last year we were constantly recieving them and now all of a sudden it stops? Why? As for Clinton, the man was one hell of a president, what he did wasn't even illegal and the ones who were pressing the charges against him were guilty for the same acts. I'll trade a booming economy, lower gas prices, no war, cheaper college education, lower housing, and living Americans for a leader who likes to have sex. I'd be willing to say that most Americans today have extra-marrital affairs whether they are democrat or republican or what. Is it right? No, but its part of life and we as Americans need to realize that we are all the same and whether its George Bush, Bill Clinton, or me we all think the same.

Re: Continue to vote Republican
And all the money ends up where? In the pockets of the oilmen, middle east terrorists, of the tooth fairy who just happens to have a vested intrest in the oil biz and runs the country and the controlling votes in congress? Moral what?

Re: Continue to vote Republican
By your statements I gather your a republican which is fine. What I want you to explain to me is what has happened over the last four years to improve our country. I can write you a novel on the negatives. As for Clinton, I dont really think we would've been in Iraq, I think he would have handled the situation more diplomatically. Bush is out for revenge over there, it appears to me he has completley given up on finding Bin Laden which is no shock to me. The guy has more ties to that family than some of Bin Laden's cousins. And yes I know the family disown's Osma but in the end your still family and after 9/11 I lost all respect for Bush after he flew out the Bin Laden family members that were in ths country.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
I am totally against abortion, gay marriage, etc. But if your against all those things....why arent you against sex before marriage and out of marriage...And as for sending troops to war...is it a sin?....Only God can judge that...but I do know that when you enlist in the military ....you are taking an oathe to fight for your country....so the way I see it ....I dont want anyone to die...but its their duty to fight.

[/ QUOTE ]
Let me ask you a better question...Why in the world would the Lord of Lords and King of all Kings vote for someone else to run a country and do a job that he could do on a whim??? I don't think you've got a lot of people that are asking your question...I think a lot of them are drinking the kool-aid that the religious right is handing out right and left and voting for whoever THEY say. It's just as dangerous as when the Catholic Church had control of most every European government back in the day. It's NEVER a good thing when religion and politics mix. They're two seperate (thank God) and different things. Just remember, if you get someone in the White House who is even more of a die-hard Christian than Dubya "proclaims" to be, then how long is it until we have Christianity instituted by the Federal Government as the official religion of the US? There goes one of the amendments out the window right there...doesn't that make the Right to Bear Arms fair game too if that happens???
It's all one big contradiction when you mix religion and politics...to me, that is a conversation that should never be had because it's too dangerous and hurts to many people in the long run...those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

Re: Continue to vote Republican
Nope I'm neither and only vote for whom I think is right for the situation which in the past 15 yrs or so I may have voted for 3 or 4 people...I didn't vote for Bush nor Clinton...I wouldn't vote for Bush nor Kerry...To be honest the only guy around here who deserves to be in office is Boucher he cares about the people...We have one over here in Kingsport as well but I can't remember his name...Like I said 1 in maybe a 100 care for the voters the rest pad their pockets with the taxpayers cash.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
What has happened to improve our country in the last 4 years....we kept Kerry out of the White House.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
I never said I was against any of that stuff, I support abortion in certain situations, I'm against gay marriage but believe in civil liberties, and I feel whatever two adults do in the privacy of their own homes is their business not mine. I have no problem with fighting for your country, for instance I strongly support military action in Afghanistan in order to rid the taliban and Bin Laden. I also support whatever means are needed to kill Bin Laden, what I dont support is the war in Iraq which is entirley based on lies. The old saying of Politics and Religon dont mix is the biggest bunch of bull I've ever heard, of all the Republicans I know I can only think of one who doesn't vote republican because of Religon.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
It's all about point of view yankeesfan...I don't really see that as an "improvement".
And just because you're against abortion, gay marriage, gays in the military, religious initiatives, etc. does not mean there aren't some democrats out there who don't hold your same ideals. There are many conservative democrats and liberal republicans who could probably run this country a lot better than the religious right is doing right now. Religious zeal can blind you as to what is actually the best thing to do for the people of God's nation. Sometimes God is saying "DO THIS", but we're so far into an agenda that we think is what God wants, that we can't hear him...to me that's sad. Drinking the Religious right Kool-aid will get all of us to nowhere (and maybe even Hell) in a hurry.

Re: Continue to vote Republican
I do agree that we need to get out of Iraq...but before we do....I think we need to finish the job...we need to get Saddam out and we did....now we're trying to do the Christian thing and help Iraq get back on its feet....and if you are for fighting in Afghanistan....then why not Iraq....they are all terrorist and there main goal is to take down the rest of the world....they attacked the U.S. on American soil...now we've retaliated....If someone hits you....Hit them back.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
Walk up to a congressmen or senator and ask them to work free without pay for one year because they don't do anything anyway and see what they tell you...It's all about the cash...I ask one that one time and you should've seen the look I got...You gotta love a job where you can vote yourself a pay raise without any objections who will turn that down? I think they should work a year without pay and donate it toward things like this Hurricane relief then we may weed some of these idiots out of office.

Re: Continue to vote Republican

Re: Continue to vote Republican
I'd give anything to be able to run for office but I would get run out also because I would be for the people and you know them elected officials they don't want that.
-
Re: Continue to vote Republican
I cant beleive you would say that you would vote for Boucher "because he cares about the people". Boucher only cares about what makes him look pretty. Every business that has come to Clintwood in the past 5 years Boucher has been right there to look pretty for the camera and soak in all the glory for it. But when everyone packs up and leaves in a year, his name or face is nowhere to be found. The only thing keeping Boucher afloat is the UMWA and last I heard they werent to happy with him.

Re: Continue to vote Republican
Get out of Iraq- but "they are all terrorists" kill'em all. MMMMM.... that Christian thing -didn't fit with that kill all the "terrorists before we leave," Bush screwed around TOOOOOOO long, you know it and I do. Hit'em back- just anybody or are we gonna be selective like we should have YEARS ago and knocked off a few leaders, in other places, but then again I run into my morals on pre-emptive strikes, so do I get my collar out, like Bush and run for office, or do I go down like Ollie North? I hate talking to myself......I make so much sense if you can think that fast

Re: Continue to vote Republican
I'll say this much for him when I lived over there he helped us out alot and has done alot for SWVA in some way shape or form...He probably does some things but has done alot of good also...I haven't been over there in 4 years since I moved to Kingsport.

Re: Continue to vote Republican
It gets real twisted REAL fast , the worst thing about ALL big time politics is- TOO RICH-never understand the common mans problems.
