You realize that some schools try to win legit national titles dont you?

Well what do you consider legimate national titles??

Is beating a team's 8th string QB winning the title legtimatly?

Or losing 2-3 games, losing your bowl game, and being named champ. by some obscure magazine and calling that a NC. By Bama fans logic, UT has 5 NC's. Any UT fan will only claim 2. The only reason Bama says 5 is so they can take credit for the half dozen they have that came in the affore mentioned fashion.

I agree, some of em are kinda bogus, but in all honesty, Bama has really WON 7 since 1960.

Im not real sure about the old games, Il find some old schedules and see waht the record was.

In 1925, Bama was 11-0-0, and were recognized by two publications
In 1926, Bama was 9-0-1, and was recognized by one publication
In 1930, Bama was 10-0, and was recognized by one publication
In 1934, Bama was 10-0, and was recognized by three publications
In 1941, Bama was 9-2, and was recognized by three publications
In 1961, Bama was 11-0, and recognized by all except teh Football Writers.
In 1964, Bama was 10-1-0, and recognized by AP, UPI, and Litkenhous.
In 1965, Bama was 9-1-1, and recognized by the AP and Football Writers.
In 1973, Bama was 11-1, and recognized by UPI.
In 1978, Bama was 11-1, and recognized by all except the Sporting News and UPI.
In 1979, the best ever Bama team, they were 12-0 and were unanimous champions.
In 1992, Bama was 13-0 and unanimous NC's.

In addition to the 12 "recognized" national championships owned by Alabama, the Official NCAA Football Records Book recognizes Alabama as producing national champions in 1945, 1962, 1966, 1975, and 1977. In 1945, the 10-0 Tide was recognized as champions with Army by the National Championship Foundation. The 1962 Crimson Tide, 10-1, was chosen by Billingsley and Sagarin, while the 1966 team, 11-0, was selected by Berryman. The 11-1 Tide team in 1975, along with Ohio State, was selected by Matthews. In 136 years, there has only been 26 times there was a totally unanimous national champion.

And the majority of the 26 came before 1900.

So, now I feel even BETTER about claming our 17!
