I was just looking at the western carolina university web site.Brad robbins is on both the football and baseball teams.that is very impressive for a division 1AA school.I bet very few athletes can pull that off.Good Luck Brad.

You are correct airstrike, it is a great accomplishment for Brad. There are a few players that play multiple sports in D1, but not many.

Only a couple come to mind right off, that's Todd Helton and Julius Peppers.

didnt North Carolina have another player to do it also, i think he was the quarterback and then the point guard in basketball

I thought that was very bold when Robbins compared himself to Todd Helton in the coalfield when he was interviewed.

Seriously though, theres quite a bit. Martellus Bennett at TAMU is an nfl tight end in the making and a good basketball player that entered the nba draft but withdrew his name.

Jackie Robinson is probably the best 2 sport college athlete ever, he was a star on ucla's football team.

Charlie Ward was a good dual sport athlete. Didn't he win some kind of award or something.

If you want the best multi-sport college athlete you would have to go with Deion Sanders. He did it in Football, Baseball, and track.

Robinson was an amazing athlete, the biggest problem there though is the fact that most people who label "greatness" are fans like you and me. Well, maybe not like you and me, but fans. People who take a lot of what media builds people up to be and takes it as the gospel. I'd dare say half the population of the United States wouldn't know that Robinson played more than baseball.

The fact that he lettered in 4 sports at UCLA is rather overshadowed by what he did for civil rights. I think Thorpe garners a lot of attention due to the fact that he had to give up his Olympic medals and then have them re-awarded posthumously.

I don't think anyone has lettered in four sports in Division I-A since then, and I doubt they will.

Prime Time was overrated as a defensive back, center fielder, and most importantly a sports broadcaster. There is no doubt in my mind he was great, but I'd take Rod Woodson or Darrell Green over him ANY DAY.

Carl Crawford could have went to Nebraka to play quarterback and I think NC to basketball but he chose to stick with baseball and now plays for my beloved Devil Rays

You see a lot of WR's that play football also play basketball.

He was a really good soccer player in high school, and during football season at Ga Tech, one of their kickers got hurt, not really sure of the whole story, but they ended up asking Nomar to walk on and kick, and he was their starting kicker for atleast one game I know of for sure and did rather well. But the athletic director informed both coaches, since he was receivin a full ride in baseball he couldn't play another sport so he had to quit.

More college football players than you might expect play college baseball also. The WR at Notre Dame is also a pitcher on the baseball team. UT has had a couple of the last few years. I am not saying that every school has someone doing it, but a lot do have people playing two sports.

No way he was overrated as a DB, he was more feared than anyone. Deion and Green are the too gretest corners that have been seen.
