So how bad do you guys think Miami is going to beat LSU?/
14-10 Canes
SEC through and through I'm going with LSU by 3 with or w/o their starting qb. Bringing the Peach Bowl Title back to where it belongs in the MIGHTY SEC.
Canes 14 Tigers 9
looks like Blue is eating his words now...I love it.
LSU 20
MIAMI 3
end of the 2nd
I didn't expect this, especially with Russell out for LSU, LSU's defense came to play tonight. But I look for Miami to make some changes at the half and come out in the third and make a game of it.
I expect Coker will get a contract extension at halftime.
They frickin suck ass. Yeah LSU is not bad at all, but I didnt have to watch tonight, the Georgia Tech game was enough to show me the light.
Please, no more Coker and Werner, I cant take it. We are all on here talking about gimmicky offenses then they go bush league and put Hester at every position and give him the ball every time. HELLLOOOOO, just because Reggie Bush plays for USC doesnt mean they give him the ball every damn time. Welp, I guess Im going to go down with the ship, later fellas.
go tigers. I'm lovin' it
Ah, another pissy season of underachieving. Firecoker.com. Hey: Even had we won, the Peach is unacceptable, and I'd still be bumming. Way too much talent in Miami to do this year after year.
wow, that's all I can say.
This isn't the same team that whipped Va Tech, LSU's offensive line is manhandling the Cane's front four. Great game plan by LSU, Miami just couldn't make the right adjustments and are just plain getting outcoached.
and outhustled! sorry just had to add that. lol
Miami. Russell being out is huge for LSU. I'm no Miami fan, but I see them winning the game by 7-10 points
well I'd say you're going to be wrong considering it's the 4th qrt. and LSU is up 37 to 3.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not a real big fan of "The U" or even college football, I wondered about the big build-up on the "Next Bush". I guess he will be back next year. Miami has lost some coaching. I still wouldn't have thought 30 points with a back-up QB. Some days we eat the bear, some days the bear eats us. I wondered about the first tackle when the guy was clapping and jumping around.
Maybe an unexcusable blowout loss (worse since the 47-0 to FSU in probation years) is what folks in Miami need to see to make the changes that are obviously going to have to be made in order to get the program back to title contender level. In the long run, this may be a good thing (if we get rid of JOKER, I mean Coker-may be worth it to me-if he stays, it's what we deserve and what we may expect for years to come)
Miami fans should think back around 2000/2001 when Coaker was leading Miami to a National Championship. He is a good coach. The problem is, "What have you done for me lately?"
Joe Gibbs is in the same boat. "He's been left behind." Joe Gibbs has not been left behind, not now...But it all goes back to what have you done for me lately. Coaches go from hero to zero in a matter of weeks.
LMAO!!!!
Coker had nothing to do with winning the National Title. Those players were Butch Davis' guys. The underachieving Canes of the last few years are Coker's boys.
Miami is kinda a "Bad boy" team, amd this coach just don't fit there. I don't think there is 35 points between the 2 teams , but things kinda snowball sometimes. Thumping that rookie QB would have been a good move early.
We used to be a bad boy team. Butch cleaned that image up considerably. I wondered myself why we didn't put pressure on the rookie QB as well.
Miami has its issues, but Clinton Portis, Sean Taylor, and Santana Moss all come from their, and the 'Skins are grateful!
Just another reason why us Cane fans are so disgusted. We have pumped a slew on players into the NFL over the last few years, and as of late have nothing to show for it. Again: Way too much talent to be a non-BCS bowl bust. Coaching staff just isn't getting it done.
More than Xs and Os, more than bad offensive line play, more than a quarterback that looked horrendous, more than a defense that put forth no effort, this team has taken the identity of its coach. Hes a nice guy, a guy that you would like to represent your school, but he has no place as a head coach at the university of miami. We arent talking about tonights game either, we are talking about a team that has become considerably worse for 3 years. Defensively, I think Shannon can make adjustments and has a clue, their main problem is they are small at DT and dont have a middle linebacker as they did in the past, that can be fixed.......but for 3 long years, the offensive line and the passing game has been utter trash. I see utah, minnesota, and northwestern throwing the damn ball all over the field and it disgusts me to know miami cannot do that. This is not a team thats going to improve with Coker and Werner at the helm. Theres really nothing more I can say but at least when we were losing 47-0 and 66-13, we played with a little bit of heart and got better each week. This is EASILY the worst and most disgusting performance in hurricane history. The only thing comparable to it is the 29-0 loss at Arizona in 93.
Im sure some question me and unchained and say we are spoiled but hell, we are just asking for an offense to be better than utah, northwestern, and minnesota, is that so much to ask?

Not too much to ask when we know that the athletes at Miami have more talent than at Utah, Northwestern, Minnesota...etc. At schools like Miami, the bar is set higher, and if folks see that as spoiled, so be it. If you ain't in it to win it,why are you in it?
A lil more sour note from Foxsports-
There were shoves and punches between players immediately after the game as the teams left the field by the same tunnel. Georgia State Patrol officers intervened, and minutes later Miami's Andrew Bain, apparently dazed, was escorted by officers back out of the tunnel.
Coker said Bain and Miami's Khalil Jones were knocked unconscious, and the coach said no players were detained by police. No players were hospitalized.
"I don't know what happened and I don't condone it," Coker said.
LSU's Jacob Hester, who ran for 70 yards and a touchdown said trash-talking, some involving LSU receiver Dwayne Bowe, a Miami native, began as good-natured fun.
"We had a guy who is from Miami who was kidding around with one of his boys," Hester said. "Miami thought it was something serious. They came in the tunnel and they were swinging, but it was just a joke between friends."
After a few minutes, the entire LSU team was back on the field celebrating the win with fans.
Miami players weren't available for comment after the game.
I am an ACC fan but I enjoyed this "Drubbing of the Canes". I especially enjoyed all the camera time the Miami fans got. Seeing the looks on their faces was the best part of the game for me. I have been to several Miami games and I would rate their fans as some of the most obnoxious people in the world. It did my heart good to see them on the receiving end again.
I enjoyed it too, now things are going to be forced to change alot quicker and they can get back to dominance alot quicker. Funny, Butch took a probation team to national contender, Larry took a national contender and basically made them a probation team lol.
Funny you should say that about Cane fans, because after Miami's thrashing of the Hokies in Blacksburg, several Hokie fan friends of mine flagged down some Cane fans and apologized for the behavior of the Hokie fans (BTW-they weren't a part of it-just wanted Floridians to know that all Virginians weren't like that). To say that Miami fans are like that is stereotypical. All college teams have problem fans (just like high school as well as pro). That's what happens when you let drunks walk through the gates or serve them more.
agreed
So things are getting better and worse. Reports on WQAM say Hester, Merriweather, Atkins, Moore, Kareem Brown, and even Olsen is considering leaving now.
After the game, Atkins and Brown walked out on the coaching staff in the locker room. $hit has definetely hit the fan and I think the only way to fix it is to fire Coker and the staff. Its obvious from the problems with Moore, to Jolla transfering, to the exodus of all of these players, to losing recruits that are 50/50 shots, its obvious noone wants to play for Coker and that dreadful offense. I give Randy Shannon a pass, everyone could tell that the team quit, generally the defense was the best in the country all season long. Something is going to have to give or this team will be a 6 win team next season.
Where is all the talk about that big bad ACC now?
The SEC-THE #1 conference.
ACC 4-2 so far
SEC 1-1
Ill take a win over Miami and a loss to Missouri.
USC gave their game away.
Didnt GT lose to UTAH?

Alcohol is not allowed in Lane Stadium.
Yes, all teams have some bad fans. But of all the fans of other teams I have been around the ones from Miami, the ones I have been around, have been the worst of anybody. And as bad as I hate to say it because I am NOT a UT fan, their fans have been great every time I have been to a game there.
That's your experience. Ask others and their experiences may differ. You are going to have bad fans anywhere, not just Miami.
That is true. But they are by far the worst I have personally seen.
Yep, GT did lose, but Virginia, Clemson, Nc. State, and Boston College did win. Hopefully , VT will win as well.
yes...and that is NINE teams from the ACC who are bowl eligible...how many from the SEC?
btw, in case you're counting...that's 9 teams better than UT

Better records, not necessarily better!
Didn't UT beat LSU, and LSU beat Miami, and Miami beat VT. SO UT > VT!!!
Seriously it was a long year for the Big Orange that hopefully don't rear its ugly head again for a longggggg time.
On the right day, Da Cove could have beaten UT this year Vandy certainly did.
VT will win, Louisville sucks.
The SEC could win out, Bama over TT, UF over Iowa, Auburn over Wisconsin, and UGA over WVU, all those look like wins.
This is a post from a Miami fan from another board that I look at...at least there are one or two objective ones out there.....
"The major difference is the SEC is a physical defensive oriented conference and those type teams historically throttle UM. Just look at 3 of the most lopsided bowl losses in Canes history -- '85 Sugar to Tennessee, '02 Sugar to Alabama and '05 Peach last night. All against extremely athletic and defensively stout SEC teams. Miami would much rather play track meet style games against foes that let you score. Ohio St '02 was basically an SEC style team in terms of defense, a smack you in the mouth team. If that Buckeye team had been styled like some of the more typical recent Big Ten champs that aren't as tough defensively, then the Canes would have cruised against them.
As a USC alum I freely admit a matchup against Auburn last year would have evolved completely differently than the USC/Oklahoma game. USC would have won on talent level but not anything close to the Oklahoma result, and that massacre elevated USC 2004's place in history probably somewhat higher than it belongs. Oklahoma 2004 gave up 35 points each to Texas A&M and Oklahoma St, while Auburn never displayed any vulnerability even approaching that.
Miami is just damn fortunate right now to be in the ACC and not the SEC. The ACC teams are more talented than the Big East lot, but most of the ACC foes are soft defensively and will try to outscore you like Virginia vs. Minnesota yesterday. If this level Miami team had to play a steady diet of the Auburns, LSUs, Alabamas, and Georgias, etc, I doubt our conference record would be much north of .500, if that. Hell, I want no part of Tennessee right now despite the season they had. That thug defense would produce a game very similar to the '03 game and no guarantee the Canes would sneak in a few more points than them.
I don't want to overreact to one game. But if anything the offensive coaching problems on the Canes are understated, not overstated. Plus Kyle Wright has got to get more touch and eliminate the blinkers on aspect, limited field of vision. Last night I mistakenly typed blinders on as the horse racing reference, then realized my mistake this morning. Wright plays like he has blinkers on and only sees a few feet in either direction. Then he's also got to develop much more variety of pace and loft. When the bowl game pairing was announced, I mentioned here that it was a good test for Wright since LSU held Vandy's Jay Cutler to 11 for 32 for 137 yards and 2 INTs. Cutler is more advanced than Wright, and simply better, but their games have some similarities in the line drive aspect of their passes plus the limited vision. If you take away Wright's 8-15 yard fastballs you basically take away everything and our coaching staff desperately needs to address that."
