Deion Sanders
ESPN reporter, said that Deion was going to retire again. Deion said that he wants to get into coaching, possibly even head coach somewhere. Sanders said that he would love to coach Florida State. Wouldn't that be something, as long as he had some good coordinators, Deion would get the recruits. He may be on to something here. Personally I don't think Bowden will ever leave, I think he is going to coach until he dies, or at least until Paterno retires or dies. But it would be interesting to see Coach Deion Sanders.

Re: Deion Sanders
More to being a head coach than I think Deion may know. He should start out as an assistant and learn. I think everyone knew after being away for so long, coming back was a mistake.
Anyone who ever enjoyed the game always wants to play one more, but the reality is, we don't have it no more.
Deion would be a good asst. coach but im not sure a good head coach. More to it than it seems and that is at any level highschool to pro.
Anyone ever wonder why Jimmy Johnson is so highly recurited for his coaching advice? He has been there at the many levels. He knows what it takes to be successful.

Re: Deion Sanders
I dont think so.
I mean I really doubt that Bowdon does anything but shows up on Saturday and recruits. However I don't see Deon getting a big Divison 1 college offer like Flordia State or something, maybe a smaller 1AA or an all black school. If anything I think he would be a good defensive back coach in the NFL. But not all great players can be great coaches. Some people have so much natural talent that they can't distill that in their apprentices.

Re: Deion Sanders
He was the best! He was my fav by far! I'll miss everything about him....The man will be in the hall soon, along with all the other greats....
-
Re: Deion Sanders
The best? Hall of Fame is iffy.
-
Re: Deion Sanders
Nah look up the mans stats.......
Plus hes one of the few to play both pro baseball and football......
-
Re: Deion Sanders
Deion is the greatest corner ever, no doubt about that Moonlight.
-
Re: Deion Sanders
No way, the dude got hyped out of the ceiling for his speed. I'd take Darrell Green over Deion any day of the week as far as a cornerback. Deion was a great athlete but as far as a corner there is no way he's the best ever.
-
Re: Deion Sanders
I agree...Darrell Green was a much better cover corner and apparently much more durable.

Re: Deion Sanders
I thought Woodson was a safety?
-
Re: Deion Sanders
Rod Woodson played Corner till later in his career when he moved to safety. He made the all time NFL team as a Corner
-
Re: Deion Sanders
Green played 6 more seasons and ended up with 1 more interception, assuming Deion doesnt get a pick today. Green only scored 6 defensive touchdowns in his 20 year career, Deion housed 9. Green might have tackled better and might have been more durable, but there was no cover corner ever better than Primetime.
-
Re: Deion Sanders
10-4, All I know is that he was a beast at safety, I honestly dont remember him playing corner.
-
Re: Deion Sanders
You realize that Deion cant tackle right?
-
Re: Deion Sanders
So you are basing your opinion on the fact the Deion had 3 more career defensive td's than Green? Mayde it was due the fact that people rarely threw on Darrell Green.
-
Re: Deion Sanders
Yet he averaged more tackles per game than Green. I said Cover Corner, I never said anything about tackling.
-
Re: Deion Sanders
Darell Green is the best ALL AROUND corner to ever play the game.
-
Re: Deion Sanders
So you dont think that teams didnt throw to Deions side of the field. He bated people better than anyone. And no im not basing it on 3 td's, Im basing it on Deion being more productive over 14 years than Green was over 20 years. Deion is clearly a better cover corner. Green covered Randy Moss step for step yet he wasnt going to be able to outjump him, wheras Deion was 4 inches taller and it made him better against bigger recievers.
-
Re: Deion Sanders
You are entitled to your opinion.
Didnt Deion and Darrell actually play together for a year or 2 when Deion was with Washington?
-
Re: Deion Sanders
Deion was the best ever, ask any expert and they will tell you that. Deion cut the field in half, you challenged Dieon and hes gonna pick it off. How many actually watched Dieon in his prime?
-
Re: Deion Sanders
I watched him in his prime. Great player but I would still take Rod Woodson in his prime. Oh heck, give me Woodson on one side, Sanders on the other, Ronnie Lott at safety and Ed Reed at the other safety.

Re: Deion Sanders
Cover cornerback okay I will give you that. Water covers 2/3rds of the world, Deon covers the rest.
But I agree he wasn't much of a tackler.
-
Re: Deion Sanders
When coaches had to play against Deion, it was stay far away as possible from that man. On punt returns it was just kick it out of bounds. He was the most feared corner ever. He wasn't much of a tackler i'll addmit, but who was they guy he knocked the #*&^(^$% out of when he played for the Falcons? I remember the hit because at the time I did not like PrimeTime, and was hoping he would of got run over.
