Vick's redneck play of stomping the players leg just did it for me. I'm glad the Hokies won but I will not ever defend Vick again. What a .............. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]
While I don't in any way condone Vick's actions, I guess he was ill because he got jerked down by his face mask and it wasn't called. Also late in the game on the pass interference against UL he got it again and the flag was waved off. Still was a pretty cheap play by Vick. Beamer reportedly sent him the the UL locker room to apologize but Elvis wouldn't come out. beamer needs to take care of these issues in the off season and FAST!

I know which play you are referring to gcdevil22. When the replay was shown, the commentators sit silent for a moment and one then replied that maybe the defender said something to him after the play, although the enlengthened replay shows that he got up off the ground and chest bumped his teammate once he got to the other side of the ball where the rest of the defense was gathered. There was no trash talking whatsoever after the play as the extended replay showed that being the case. It was obvious the QB was releasing the ball at the same moment that he was being hit, even altering the ball's flight with the defensive pressure on the play.
Pitiful call, if they want to protect quarterbacks that much from a hard hit, maybe they should put a skirt on them in the future if that's how the game's going to be called by officials.

Dumervill is twice the player Vick will ever be. Vick can do whatever he wants but he better start working on running routes after next season.

Surely youre not talking about Michael Vick? Hes one of the worst passing quarterbacks in the nfl, you do realize that atlanta is not in the playoffs and vick hasnt progressed any in about 3 years.
ED had 20 sacks this year, only T. Suggs has dominated college football like that in recent memory. Freeney didnt even have a tackle against Miami in his last game, it didnt make him any worse as a player did it?
but he is the most dynamic player in the NFL and will be at qb his entire career...and his bro is a better passer...he will be at qb his entire career too

What does being dynamic have to do with being a good quarterback? Quarterbacks pass, running backs run, Vick is a bad passer that runs. That equates to losing in the nfl. I dont care how long the guy is in the league, hes not a good quarterback.
Marcus isnt a good passer either and has less mobility. You really should watch some nfl games sometime and you would understand just how accurate you have to be in the nfl.
this is the first time since he's been starting qb that they havent made the playoffs...and they didnt even have a losing season
I realize that, they have a pretty solid team all around, but Vick hasnt developed much in recent memory. There are good teams that win in spite of their qb, keep that in mind.
To be an nfl quarterback you have to be really accurate. Kyle Orton was a terrific passer in college, threw a good deep ball too but In the pros he is not accurate at all. Rex Grossman is as accurate as it gets and thats the night and day difference between two guys like that. The Vicks just dont have "it". There are plenty of guys that dont, but Mike should have worked on his passing skills more than he has.

I have to agree with you, in college i was a huge Vick fan, but now that he is in the NFL and cant outrun everybody and has no pass to back him up, he just cant do what he needs to do to win. I dont even watch him anymore.
The Falcons have never had back to back winning seasons. Vick is a joke, and is another prime example as to why I hate ESPN. Him in the Pro Bowl proves how stupid that game is, outside of Dunn they have no offense at all. I like how they didn't even show up for their last game.

Yes Vick is a great athlete, probally one of the best all around athletes in the game. But he has yet to evolve into an even decent passer in the NFL. Like I stated earlier he puts up Boiler numbers and makes more money than Peyton Manning.
If you compare the passing numbers strickly what is the difference between Aaron Brooks and his cousin who plays for Atlanta?
An athlete will win you a game, a quarterback will win you a championship.
I am sure with Marcus Vick's intense work ethic and the way he stays out of trouble off the field he will have no trouble making it in the NFL. And I agree with pvfan, Vick does not deserve to be in the probowl. I could name atleast 3 other qbs who deserve that over him.
While I won't defend Vick's cheap shot, I will say that I understand his frustration with the officials. They called legal hits "personal fouls" vs. the Hokies, and waived off definite penalties against the Cards. Vick nearly had his head taken off via his face mask on one play, and it was waived off. Using the same criteria they used in calling penalties against the Hokies for "personal foul" and "unsportsmanlike conduct", the Cards should have had 8 or 10 called on them.
