Found alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You beat me to it burrhead. It is great news that 12 are alive. Unfortunately 1 lost his life, but thank God 12 made it!
He was probably on his way back outside. So sad
I think he may have been trying to leave the mine and may have thought the other 12 were behind him...They said he was found 700 ft. from the mining tram...Anyways great news about the 12 found alive.
Thank God. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Alright
Said he was a belt man. Just bad luck. I've been out about 9 years, but it brings back reality. Mining is a very dangerous job, but it can make you a strong person in this cruel world.
Praise God for a true miracle here. Who says the man upstairs don't hear prayers.
Man im over joyed for these men.
Miracles still happen.
I'm so negative, but this has really changed me. I gave em up for dead. Thought there was no way. Everything and anything is possible with the almighty God!
Thats wonderful news. There was some reason I felt positive, and to be honest, when they said they found the one, I felt at least a glimmer of hope, since I figured if they had died, all would be together, if they had been together.
Kind of puts everything into perspective.
Today when i heard the reading on the carbon monoxide and knowing some about mining.
I was well unless they are somewhere else in that mines. Then there is no hope for them.
But i thought for a minute. If it was me would i want people to give up on me.
That is when i said well i ain't giving up on them. Even with as cold as i can be i said a prayer for these men. Heck ain't gonna lie i've said a few for them.
Im just overwhelmed that God blessed 12 to survive.
And one may of passed on. But it could of been 13.
What a great day this has already turned out to be. Man prayer is awesome. And not just mine. But all the prayers that went up for these men.
CNN and i have to say this. Kiss it. They made it. So go look for your reasons for the explosion now and find the blame.
Even your bleakness couldn't stop God.
I'll gripe and fuss about the cable and missing the bowlgames. We all gripe about refs, calls, other posters, coaches, you name it. I'll take all the stupid posters in the world for good news like this.
Me also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've found something every poster can agree on for once!
Great Post Rocketer
Most all of us being from the area, where relatives, friends or even ourselves work in the mines or the mining insustry, it should be something we all can agree on.
I don't say this often enough but praise God (and if you don't believe, that's your right but please don't taint this)
in a turn of events...only one is alive
I have already posted this in the non-sports forum, and wanted to paste it over here in case this topic got more viewing:
This truly was a sad turn of events. I have been up sick tonight and could not sleep, so I have watched this unfold. This truly goes to show how bad the media (in my opinion I think they are who is the most to blame here) can escalate something that may or may not be true.
Right now I would really like to slap Rita Cosby on MSNBC. She is placing all the blame on ICG, and the Governor for not reacting quickly enough. Yes, it is bad that they waited 2 hours, but at least they did wait to make sure of the entire facts instead of spouting off without the right information like had happened earlier.
Also she just turned said the ventilation curtain was a fan designed to pull out CO2, and methane when there are high levels. She is definetly a person who wants to place blame, and point fingers before waiting to see the full facts.
I cannot imagine what must be going through the minds of the families, and the roller coaster of emotions tonight. Of course they are showing repeatedly the woman, and her husband who say they are going to sue, and others who are extremely angry. I have only saw one interview of a lady (probably mid-20s) who was thinking logically, and not already pointing fingers.
My prayers do go out to these folks. It is a terribly tragic episode.
I was so mad i couldn't even post on it. I can't believe the company, the media, whoever let this happen.
Misinformation that ripped a place apart from tears of joy to tears of heartache.
Unbelieveable. Misinformation or to quick to spout and no facts.
Sorry to sort of break or stretch the rules.
Damn
Heartbroken.
What do you say, one of the second shift called back to the mines last night so we would know, then the dayshift gets to break it all again. Like I said before, if you are underground at all after an explosion or fire- it is a long way underground.
After watching the story , I wonder if the news team didn't pull this to make better press. It would be easy to do. And the co levels.....I'd be looking for a little payback. We take these chances, but letting the families endure this , someone should have taken better control.
I fell asleep last night before the announcement of the 12 miners being alive, so this was all a shock to me this morning. Pointing fingers is pointing fingers, but SOMEONE/SOMEBODY must be held responsible. Newscasters can speculate all they want, but in a few days, weeks, months...when the truth comes out, we need some answers.
The miners situation is a another horrible example of not only the dangers of mining, but will probably turn out to prove just how much the safety of workers is put after the desire to make money. I could write a book about corporate America, but events like this...
HAS TO BE A VERY SAD SITUATION FOR WHAT SEEMS TO BE A SMALL TOWN AND A TIGHT-KNIT COMMUNITY
