Star ratings for each of us

I thought it'd be interesting to dissect how many stars we've each been given by people on this board, and how many people had taken the time to get pissed off and give us 1 star or be obliged that you were on their side in an argument and give you 4 or 5.

Looking at mine, I've got 2 stars...dunno how...[img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] and that's off of 42 total ratings.

And also, does anyone ever see a Newbie that you don't like with 5 stars and deliberately go and give them 1 to knock them down where they're supposed to be, or am I the only one??? [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

like those girls on the non sports I gave them all 1 *hah* and if you can't spell half way decent I usually give you a lower star rating too sorry. Plus all those kids who get on here and start posts just so other people will brag about them.. yeah 1 star. I'm picky when it comes to stars. .

Brad I gave you 4 though it would have been 5 but I hate to read big long posts so that knocked you a little.

I've given quite a few ppl 5's though- Blue, Mega, Rocket, VTgal, gcdevil, etc.

Not that it matters that much really.

Although I am guilty as charged if I see someone who has an 'overly inflated' rating (see 1 vote), then I feel compelled to bring them back to the pack a bit.

I think you ought to be able to change a rating on a person you rate maybe once every 12 months--if you've been on here a year then sometimes you don't come across as such a prick or whatever, and then you understand the etiquette of the forum itself.

Is there such a toggle switch to hit in settings to make that happen Rock?

And no toggle...shoot to be honest I was trying to find a way to get rid of post count and that, because too many people were making posts just to get their counts up (to many replies of "yep", "i agree", etc.

And the ratings just so I wouldnt feel bad when I got 17 1's in a row

I hate that crap with a passion. If you agree or whatever, then explain why you agree. Either that, or nod your head in agreement to yourself, and go on to the next thread that you may have something substantial to say.

BUT--we don't need to get rid of the post count...I like it. You can tell who to take seriously and who not to take seriously given how a person posts and how many posts they have. That's been a problem w/some of the newbies here lately trying to make a name for themselves...don't understand you gotta pay your dues in time served and posts made on the forum before you get a lot of credibility. Kind of a standard rule of thumb on most message boards.

Well I agree to a point, but most of us recognize the names that are here for awhile, or for that matter the posting style of the posters so it wouldnt really hurt. It's not really been an issue lately so not anything I'm dying for in the other version of the software if they upgrade it. Reminded me though I need to email the guy since its post-holidays and hopefully catch him

I think people either love me or hate me, thus the two star rating. I either give 5's or 1's. I dont think I've ever given anything else. Good lord, I've been rated over 70 times.

LPD you've only been rated five times, just take your cursor and put it over the stars under your name.

I guess I'm not doing to bad. I got 3 stars of 35 votes or whatever. As giving people 1 star, I have done it many of times. Hell I gave me good buddy freddy 2 star, before I realized who he was.

People either love me or hate me. I honestly think I'm a totally different person in real life as compared to this message board. People take this thing way to seriously at times imo.

Most Duke and Miami fans get an automatic 5 unless they are just plain stupid or piss me off.

Others I try to read some of their posts, see how they're doing, and go from there to make my decision. I've turned out to be wrong about posters in both directions, but it evens out eventually I guess.
