From what I heard last night Boop, that its up to the principals to decide.
I'm torn, and I could imagine that some of them are
With supers, out later, and it makes for one long evening
Without supers, out 4 nights a week
There is no winning really
I think it probably make more since to keep the Supers since as Rocketerr said it cuts down on nights per week out IMHO 1 long Friday is better than 2 avg weeknights plus I like them personally so that should be reason enough LOL
I actually dont like them, I think its funny that one of the big arguments was that it was keeping kids out late (Unless I'm mistaken all on Friday) and we know that most kids go to bed early on Fridays, or are all home
LOL no I had not heard the out late argument
I know the last one we had was against Appy. The boys varisty game didnt start until 10:05 & didnt end until 11:40. By the time we got out of the gym it was almost midnight. Thank goodness it was a home game. I would have hated to be leaving Clintwood at midnight. If their going to keep them, they need to consider starting before 5:00. I know the argument to this is, its hard for the visiting team to get there in time & also hard for the parents of the JV kids to get to game in time to see their child play. TN does Super's all the time & starts at 3:30. Yes, I know they get out of school an hour earlier than we do, but it works for them. Myself personally, I dont like the Super's, but everybody has their preference.
I hate the supers myself
I love sports but 5 or so hours of basketball in one night about invokes suicidal thoughts
I don't think it was the kids staying out late. It was the principals and such.
BTW, has anyone heard from Bill Castle's son? If you don't want to discuss it on a public forum e-mail me
I personally like super nights. Its a fun thing to do on friday nights.
I tend to agree. During a typical 3-4 day tournament, I'll sit through 4-6 hours of basketball each day. Over 4 days, that is 24 hours sitting on those hard wooden bleachers. I'm crazy to do it, but I love basketball.
Speaking of crazy, it reminds me of last year's Region D tournament when the "Big Red Army" showed up at the school at 4:00 when the first game didn't start until 7:00. There couldn't have been anyone left in Nicklesville.

If it's Boys Basketball I can. I cant really watch Female Sports, they just dont interest me at all.
If you had a daughter playing, you might change your mind.
i usually watch the girls games too, all depends on whos playing though
I would, if it was my own kid playing I'd watch. In general though, female sports dont really interest me.
The only thing I get from super friday is SUPER TIRED!
From what I hear its on its way out.
