Yeah, we have needed a big man for years. I mean, we've been able to beat run of the mill schools like VT over the years with a 6-7 man down low, but the elite have given us fits.
You must have championship infrustructure before you have championship teams. This is a huge recruiting tool that will project excellence to the commonwealth and the entire country. Give leiteo some recruits, and we'll be on par with some of the better tobacco road teams.

Yep-was upset with the split. We've had alot of luck with VT over the last decade or so. BTW-Don't bet on the split. Charlottesville will be rocking when the Hokies show up. As for next year: Don't count on it-Wahoos are going to get nothing but better.
side note...UVa is leading the Terps 51-44, but MD is startin to get some momentum...

you might want to stick to football. it's fine to be cautiously optimistic, but a year away from what? you just cant recruit the players needed to win consistently in the acc. Logistically it's too tough to compete with md, duke, unc, wake, uva, and state for players. This group has sort of panned out, but tech will never be a basketball school.

our first year in the ACC we went 8-8 and were FOURTH
this year we have better than a good shot of going 7-9 and finishing around 5 or 6
so lets see, after our first year we lost one person, carlos dixon, off of that team and we were thin in the post...this year we will lose NO ONE but we lost Robert Krabbendam early in the season, which is a big loss because we are young at the post position
that coupled with every single player on the team is dealing with a life crisis that not many kids across the country have to deal with, much less while playing bball in the ACC
and we bring in Lewis Witcher, whom is called by the Roanoke Times columnist as "the best player to come through Virginia since JJ Redick" as well as get some depth in the backcourt with Nigel Munson and Tyrone Appleton-Miller...now, none of those 3 will start, but make a BIG difference in depth issues that Tech has
im not sure if it's the same anymore especially with coleman gone, but VT had 3 players in the top 10 in minutes per game...which won't be the case next year with the guys we have coming in
